The funny thing about Jason Todd though is that even though he's younger he towers and outweighs Grayson canonically. Jason is around 6'0" and 225lbs, while Grayson is around 5'10" and 175lbs.

I think Red X is a clone of the current Robin that was made by Slade Willson to either be a training tool for Robin, or even a replacement since Robin never truly came over to the dark side like Slade wanted. That would also explain why Red X seems to have Robin's memories and fighting style.

The bigger question is why hasn't Red X translated into the comic books like a number of other popular characters have? After all, Nightwing really needs more villains unique to him. Or the current Teen Titans team needs an anti-Damian to vex them.

That red x was the current Robin, being a younger nightwing...from the future of course..all the time travel signs are there.
It's possible. One of the future shows how Teen Titans disbanded and the world became a gloomy place. Only Nightwing, Robin was operational.
Its not impossible to think, it can't go reverse.
The times Red X appeared were moments that Robin himself would've failed to do if Red X hadn't been there. Or Some1 would've gotten some equipment that would've killed the Teen Titans.
Future Robin probably knew of this that the Present Robin, although strong, resourceful and with strong leadership, his abilities were insufficient. As compared to himself that he grew overtime with defeat and losses, to have a good future, he had to go back in time to make sure the present Robin of specific time lines to not fail.
Hence why the voices of Red X is similar or slightly deeper/older voice of Robin with same fighting style, but Red X had better resourcefulness like using the Red X suit, almost nearly an improved version. Which is why Red X knows how to utilise the suit extremely well. And is always underestimating Present Robin, cuz his past self wasn't like that, but due to unexpected things, Present Robin growth was exponential that he outsmart Red X at periodically.
Think of Jason Todd. All signs point to him including cockiness and ability to fight

He just says that because literally everyone has her as their fav now so that they don't seem basic. Just like in Harry Potter for the first few years, everyone said their fav character was Harry, but then later everyone changed their fav character to Hermione or Draco to seem less basic and unoriginal, and in Stranger Things, everyone used to say someone from the main gang (usually Mike or Eleven) was their favorite, but then they realized they'd seem basic so they said they liked Steve or something. So it's not that hard to guess that Raven is everyone's new fav. Because when TT originally started basically it was either Robin or Starfire, but then like a few yrs after it ended everyone didn't want to seem like they were basic so then they were like "Oh yeah a cool gotch chick with dope powers and rarely expresses emotion..? Perfect to choose as my fav character so people think I'm cultureddd" and yeah, that's pretty much it. Just like why basically no one mains Mario in Smash because they'll seem basic.

Not really. It breaks too much Bat-continuity. You have to age Jason up to be older than Robin, first off. (If the constant calling Robin "kid" like X is older than him is any indication.) And then you either have to headcanon that his stint as Red X is his pre-Robin criminal days (marginally doable) OR that he's already been the second Robin, died, and come back with Red X serving as his Red Hood criminal equivalent, which would have been a VERY short tenure indeed considering Dick's Robin just left Bats not even half a year ago.
No one ever wants to put the legwork into the theory.

My two favorite characters from Teen Titans also just so happen to be a couple in the later seasons of Teen Titans Go! Raven and Beast Boy. I can actually relate to some of their personalities. Beast Boy is sometimes hyper and most of the time lazy. Raven just wants to be left alone in her room because she has better things to do. See? I can relate to them!

Cyborg is my favorite character. He was athletically fit, he had an interest in engineering and technology, he was a sociable big brother who struggled with depression, he was black, and he often questioned his identity. All of those characteristics described me to a tee when I saw Teen Titans for the first time. And the girl I like that the time had a similar personality to Raven, the girl Cyborg was most intimate with. I couldn't help but love his character because I saw me.
As for Red X, I think he is Robin from another dimension. In his Universe Batman in Alfred died so he had to fend for himself through theft. He tried to go back in time to change the past but he ended up in a different Universe all together. Hence the reason he is an older Robin calling him kid.

My theory has always been that red x is an entirely different character. I believe that he’s Thomas Beaumont Wayne. Bruce’s unknown son between Bruce and Andrea Beaumont. I believe they conceived him but due to everything that happened she never told Bruce about him. Don’t you think his red x costume heavily resembles Andrea’s Phantasm outfit.

There are a few different versions and that is one (also the one that I know better)
Alessandro Ciniello actually superbly prime punched a hole through reality which caused many ripples in the time line including the death of Jason Todd and thus causing Jason to wake up in his own grave and crawl his way out. He was then found by talia al ghul and he dipped him in the pit to restore his sanity and then helped train him a bit.

Thinking about Red X being Jason Todd, it's highly unlikely and I came up with two new theories.
1: Speedy is Red X this one while it could actually be him there is a noticeably different chin in its square, but it could be possible still for him and Robin have a bit of a rivalry.
2: Raven conjured up Red X and doesn't even realize it remember when Raven made a monster movie come to life yeah scary she also saw the Red X suit for the first time with the other Titans when Robin tried to catch Slade and Robin also happened to betray the Titans around the same he wore the suit and when Raven was forced to fight her friend she was probably thinking about Red X and accidentally without knowing summoned Red X but he doesn't appear until later.
I think it’s nightwing from the future because he would be the only one to know about the password to the red x suit and he is playing with robin and the teen titans

I actually thought that the Xenothium thingy that Robin used to power the Red X suit brought it to life and since he was wearing it the suit became another "robin" since both Red X and Robin have the same abilities as well as interests since Red X flirt with Starfire in a battle plus Cyborg was freaking out about it so....yea

I read the comments and saw a comment by Jaybird196 so I will nod to him by saying that he had a good idea and I want to elaborate on it. The suit was so advanced that it became sentient. However, I think it's different. It has the same kind of premise with it being no one in the suit, but I want to add something: The X-Gene. Well that's what I'll call it since in the show it is shaped like that. Everyone seems to disregard this substance, but honestly I think it plays a big part.
As we see from the shot, the vault was burst down from the *inside* and there aren't any broken things inside Red X's chamber. The only damage seen was from the outside and no one, not even the titans, know where the chamber was, I believe. The only damage is from the wall containing it so it's safe to say that it wasn't an airstrike. Anyway, the Titans would've noticed if anyone other then their team coming close to the tower. Also, Robin states that this substance is very dangerous so there isn't much doubt there.
My theory in general is that this substance made it's own body via Robin's DNA, because with hair like that, I doubt that he wouldn't leave a little hair behind. The X-gene, combined with the little DNA it had, created an organic body with some of Robin's memory. That's why he would've had the same body posture but still be taller than Robin usually is, since the body is not an exact replica of him. Even though he has Robin's memories, Red X has it's dominance by the X-gene, explaining the whole I know how to be a hero but don't like it anyway.
This was long to write so I look forward to anyone's criticism. I honestly think that if if Season 6 is ever made for the OG Teen Titans and this was what was behind Red X's mask, it would be a unique idea since I have rarely seen this happen anywhere except for the ghost in the machine that Jaybird196 mentioned. I still say he’s jason, but I think he’s jason between coming out of the pit and taking up red hood. He took red x as a sort of transition from hero to anti-hero mass murderer. Plus it kind of looks like red hood aged alittle since he got revived. Also jason has always acted like the older one even when he isnt.

I still think it’s supposed to be for the older fans to conclude it’s Jason. Red X, Red Hood. It’s a tv show and I think they wanted to use a famous villain and weren’t overly concerned about the core of the character, but making sure it’s pg enough for kids. I still remember how cool I found Red X as a kid and Red Hood is one of my favorite anti heroes in comics. I excuse a lot of the things because it is it’s own universe and weren’t overly concerned with things not directly affecting the characters. His costume design and background theme is still one of my favorites from the show

I have a theory. Well, not a theory, but a guess/headcannon. Instead of Jason being the second robin, he’s the first. Also, instead of dying, he went rouge and became his own person (Again, headcannon) and decided to steal the Red X suit.
This is why i think red x is Jason Todd. Jason Todd has been reincarnated twice. Once as red hood. Once as Red Robin. He also was Hush before he was the red hood. It makes since if he became red x in a alternate universe

My theory is that red x is the first robin from an alternate universe that wore the red x costume to go undercover but then liked it and stayed a thief but then lost the suit or it got taken away from him so somehow he came to this universe and stole the red x costume to continue his thief’ish ways that’s how he new how to get past robins security and is so similar to robin because he is robin any way that’s my theory

On Cartoon Conspiracy, we value opening points of discussion. And sometimes, that can mean knowing when to keep the mystery alive. And the more this episode developed, the more we realized that Red X was one of those mysteries that held more value in the question itself than the answer
And to address one more point - it's arguable that more Red X may have been planned before the series' cancellation but there are conflicting reports about whether the series really _was_ "cancelled". Among these are series story editor Rob Hoegee's account that the series only received the necessary 65 episodes for syndication and the understanding that a sixth season return would be unlikely. Though I'm sure all of us would like to see a sixth season come to life :)
But to completely speculate, if Red X's identity were such a necessary, monumental reveal, they likely would have kept it within that 65 episode range. But even with all that said, do you have any ideas as to who Red X could be?

I feel really sad. I had been working on a video about who Red X was for almost a year now and was going to upload it this Sunday. I'll most likely still do it since I worked so hard, but a lot of my information is similar to this video so people might think I just ripped it off. Great theory, I just wish I was able to get my version out sooner.

My guess: Red X is Robin from an alternate timeline where he stayed as Slade’s apprentice in the show. I know it sounds crazy, but the show was based off comics.

how wouldn't it make sense? being Slade's apprentice could have jaded Robin. being an apprentice to Slade seems to entitle them to a betrayal, which would further disconnect Grayson from his Robin persona. Maybe being used and betrayed by Slade Wilson caused a Robin of a different timeline to become less concerned with anyone else and only be focused on his own well-being, at any costs. @Ninjans15 I give this a 4/5 on plausibility because it's interesting and made me think. good on you ^_^
