Today I had a panic attack on my math test.. i know the whole topic perfectly and did many worksheets to practice, and got 95-100% in all of them. I was so ready for this. But then as soon as i looked at the first question my thoughts just went all over the place, I completely forgot everything, i was shaking, it was so bad I couldn’t even answer to the simplest questions. I was sitting there in panic realizing that i have less and less time left, and still couldn’t understand anything. I used to be an A student but because of these panic attacks that im getting since September my grades went down.. (especially in maths, for some reason its not so extreme with other subjects).

The same thing happened to me today. I too today had a math test which is going count as 80 percent of the grade. It was so so so easy. I am seeing the question right now. I am good at maths. I know I am but, in the exam halls I was devastated. I still am. But its a total coincidence how similar our situations are. I feel comforted. Thanks

    To GCSE students,
I had panic attacks in almost all my GCSE exams last year. And, it was horrible, but at the end I did mostly get the results I wanted (actually, I did better than everyone expected). So panic attacks do not mean it’s all over, don’t let yourself get into that mindset because it will just stress you out more. I dealt with them by stopping writing, and just giving myself 10 minutes to calm down. I may have lost time, but personally felt it worked better for me to just wait for it to pass then continue rather than trying to force myself through it and writing low quality answers for the rest of the exam. Quality over quantity, I guess. Everyone is different though, so consider what is best for you based on how you usually work.
If panic attacks begin to interfere with your everyday life, be sure to visit your local GP - they can provide you with the support you need, and they won’t judge, you will definitely not be the first person with this issue. Your school should also have some type of support system in place, so try to find out who is in charge of wellbeing.
    Good luck!

malia Devereux I’m not a doctor so can’t diagnose you, but if I you relate to what I said, I would say there’s definitely a possibility. Everyone gets stressed and some people with no diagnosable problem may feel they have had panic attacks, but if it is a reoccurring issue as you are describing, I would once again recommend visiting your local GP.
Anxiety can get worse if ignored!
Your GP may recommend anything from counselling to medication, they’ll know what is best for you.
Waiting lists are long, so visit as soon as you can. It is a good idea to look up information about anxiety prior to your appointment, so you can take note of any symptoms you experience and give your doctor a more specific description about you.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask :)

Today I went through a panic attack during my history exams.. I studied so hard, wrote notes and everything.. I thought I was ready but I suddenly forgot everything I've learned as soon as I opened the exam paper.. There were 2 sections(A and B) I skipped sec A which were all structure questions and decided to do B first and without realizing I spent too much time on it and began to panic, I was shaking and close to crying my hand can't hold the pen right and my writings were all over the place. It was one big mess, I have a few minutes left to answer the sec A and theres A LOT of questions and I didn't make it..I have 3 questions left answered, all blank. pretty sure I was the only one who left some questions blank,I feel like a total failure now..

I haven't been diagniasod for either. But i experience the symptoms. IBS-D mostly and anxiety attacks. They've been becoming more frequent. I have my matura exams in may. In my country they make you believe that exam ia the alfa and omega of your life. And that exam ends high school and determines what uni you can get into. It was the day before the start of senior year. I had 3 panic/ibs attacks in a row. Eventhough the first day we don't have classes. I had a slight anxiety spike in PE today, while my friend was having a panic attack so when i saw that a teacher and a classmate were already helping i ran onwards to the bathroom. It feels bad that i couldn't help. I'm seriously thinking of going to my doc and asking about meds. I can't do that exam week that's literally 2 months away.

I just want to get my feelings out, after I left an exam (a really important one) because of a panic attack. I felt so much anxiety today because I didnt know anyone there. After we started the test my mind went blank. I could do the first task, and it was really easy, the next one as well. But it didnt help all i could concentrate was that I feel dizzy, like I cant turn my head because of the dizzines. I was worrying it is gonna be worse, so I asked to go to the bathroom and let the teacher know that I'm not well. I was in the bathroom and it got even worse, i sat on the floor for 5 minutes trying to calm down. After i got up all I saw were stars and I really felt my blood pressure drop. I felt the dizziness for minutes. I was contemplating on If i can continue or not. All I could think was that If I go back the people will look at me with pity. That I would not be able to concentrate when I go back and I would spiral into panic again, while I was panicing at the moment. I knew that I wouldnt be able to continue, I felt so bad phisically, mentally everything. So I left. That means almost that I failed that exam. I can correct it sometime, but it will most likely not count in the university. At the moment it feels like I'm the only one in the world who failed because of a panic attack. I never had this problem with exams, I was confident that I could do the tasks or if I didnt know something i accepted it. This is the first time this happened, so I feel weak and like a failure....

Year eleven maybe two hours a night and five on the weekend. But it depends on your self.

I think you should take a moment for deep breath then try to think about an accomplishment you made even if its something non academic and try to think of something you thought you'd never do and you did . Try not think negatively before the exam or if you have friends who you know for e.g come unprepared to the exam AVOID THEM tell the them you want to be by yourself. Basically in a nutshell think positive and distract yourself if you get anxious and stay away from bad friends,

Counting down from 60 is also good scientifically or chewing gum. Do some research it's legit!

I find it extremely useful how some people have panic attacks during exams so they don't answer as many questions or answer them incorrectly because it lowers the grade boundaries, which means that I get a better grade.
However, what do you do if you get out of the zone in an exam? Quite often, I get distracted by something or a hard question comes up and my mind comes out of the exam zone and I can't get back into it. In Chemistry paper 1, I had to give up answering some questions because I'd left the mental exam zone so pretty much forgot how to think and I couldn't get back into the zone. Quite often, I leave the zone simply due to exhaustion from being in an exam for so long.
