I recently lost my Dad and when I hear this song by Paul anka it sends me back to those years!! I searched for the commercial and found it” it is wonderful commercial and even more wonderful is the full song by Paul Anka ❤️🙏
Paul Anka was my first vegas show, long tables 2 beer and cornish.I am now 67 yrs old and this song by paul brings me to tears I was a single parent, and yes Paul was my daugters first show at Caesars This song brings all the good and bad memories Remember the times of your life
This commercial rips me in half emotionally- reflecting back on my own wife and sons- all grown now. Where does time go and why does it fly by so fast? They have their own families now. Thanks for putting me in a mid-life crisis with this one robatsea!!
Well, when you have Vikki Carr singing one of the best songs ever used for one of the most successfully memorable ad campaigns ever, you've got a perfect formula for greatness...the Kodak "Times of Your Life" ad campaign has been playing in my head since I was a little kid in the 70's. I'd say that's some effective advertising...thanks for uploading this poignant clip.
Where have the great song writers gone. Anka and Williams and a whole host of other song writers had this genius to come out with unbelievable songs out of nowhere.
In 1977 she was reminiscing about the 1940's when she first moved into the house. At the time that was 30 to 35 years ago. 1977 is now 41 years ago, longer ago than the time she was nostalgic for.
I saw this commercial when I was around 4 or 5 years old. At that time, I didn’t Really understand everything in it. I just knew it was sad. But now, as I am the same age as the “parents,” I know why it’s so sad 😢
Great commerical for us baby boomers. I graduated in '75. This is a great way to add closure to your life. When you decide to downsize be sure to remember of those great and not so great memories -- it will help with closure. It's funny when we had to sell my mom's house after she passed I noticed in the carport way in the corner a signature my son had left. It said Jeff was here and the year was '1990 when he was 8-years old. I had never noticed that before. My daughter had to cut part of the wall off where mom would measure everyone and keep track of how talk everyone grew to. Great way to say goodbye and at the same time here's to a new beginning -- oh to be young again. Mom also had some old movie tapes from when I was a child and we got the old projector out and relived those special moments.
Being a photographer is a blessing and a curse; to be the one to capture a moment in time, forever, to "solidify" a memory, only to know that its already in the past and will only get further as time goes on.
I prefer the Paul Anka-sung Polaroid commercial, where it showed a young boy's mother the way she looked when her son was that age, taking him to school, seeing him go off to high school....then college and when I watched further (I was a child then), the mother got progessively older. As a kid, I got a lump in my throat, never imagining (as my mom was then in her early 30s) my mother would EVER get that old. And she did.....and she just died back in May. Never will anyone's death (before and after mom's death) will ever affect me the way mom's death did. Over 6 months later, I'm still going through the motions. Will duck away from here hopefully find that Paul Anka-sung camera commercial. Richard
My mother died in April last year suddenly at 72 years old-I am in my 30s and miss her terribly. I look back at her pics when I was a baby in her arms, she’s young and vibrant… I never imagined she’d get old.. but she did, and she got sick. Life can be so hard…my life will never be the same again.
TV commercials from the 70s and 80s were so much better and so much more memorable than the ones today. How often do you have water cooler conversations about ads on TV these days? Probably rarely to never. In particular, memorable jingles have pretty much vanished from the advertising landscape. Advertising has gotten too formulaic, with "value propositions", "key message points", "reasons to believe", and "calls to action" . . . all subject to testing to make sure it meets certain minimum requirements for how it does on "brand linkage" or "engagement". The advertising industry needs to call time out and review some ad reels from decades past and see how it's done properly. Good , effective advertising does not rely on a "formula". Making an ad based on a "formula" means making a boring, forgettable, ineffective ad.
I've always loved this comercial with the lovely Vikki Carr singing this beautiful song!!! I wish Kodak would bring it to the digital age!!!! Love Vikki Carr!!!!
That might be nice if Kodak goes into cell phones. I wish they would bring the film back so I could do something with all these older cameras that are sitting here collecting dust. 🤔😎
I remember this like yesterday and That song was amazing greet ballad.i miss the lyrics that inspire and told stories. The world is so shitty right now now and depraved media and entertainment corporations greedy are grotesque porn
Paul Anka had a hit with this song, entitled "Times of Your Life." It wasn't the first time co-composer Roger Nichols had a commercial jingle become a radio hit. He also co-wrote (with Paul Williams) "We've Only Just Begun", which started out in a bank commercial.
They are moving and she is giving her home one more look over -- you never know what you'll find! My son's signature saying he was here -- great way to let go.
Back when it was ok for people over 50 to be on screens.. has anyone noticed there are so many young people under 30 on telly nowadays? Why?? Also there are no loving gentle ads anymore… all loud “cool” noisy ads?
wait a second! I used to see that commercial while I was in the Philippines in 76 and 77: the song was sung by Paul Anka, just like in Paul Anka's version. You mean 2 separate versions have been made for the U.S. and the Philippines?
Kodak is still in business...barely. But you won't find camera's or film anymore. They sold off much of their business to emerge from bankruptcy. They mainly deal in digital imaging now. Apparently they do still make film for the movie industry.
I think Paul sang this song on some commercials for Kodak back then , cant find it tho.., But anyway , your havin my baby, you coulda swept it from your life , but u didnt do it...
CD's lol, we also have a thing called cloud storage and I'm pretty sure the internet is going to be around longer then that box of negatives in your desk drawer. But then I guess yesterdays generation really only cares about the past.
it sure sounds a lot like vikki carr. cannot confirm because i can't find it in her discography. but it sure is a pretty and haunting version not quite a good as anka's but close.
I can't say for sure but I have a suspicion it's Peggy Lee. The song was written specifically for the Kodak campaign and then spun off into a hit record by Paul Anka. In the July 22 1978 edition of "Billboard" magazine an article on popular songs used or derived from commercials mentions that when Kodak was coming up with the campaign a number of recording artists were approached to participate. Some declined, some accepted. Those who declined included John Denver, The Carpenters, The Bee Gees, and Neil Sedaka. Those who accepted were Paul Anka, Anne Murray, Barry Manilow, The Spinners, and Peggy Lee. The source interviewed was Bill Lane, the man who co-wrote the song and was the Creative Supervisor & Senior Vice President at the J. Walter Thompson agency that was tasked by Kodak with coming up with the campaign.
SpaceAndStarsGalore as i stated 3 years ago. it sure sounds like vikki carr on this ad. a top 5 hit in late '75 by paul anka....saul stars above texas music
couldn't agree with Offcense more! While in grad school we studied Ethics and have learned that corporations are making an effort to "save face" by donating to charities and doing good -- this in my eye though is all a facade -- pretending to be who they are not -- there bottom line is maximize profit not taking care of their customers.
This old commercial makes me sad, because I long for those good days of my youth when my parents were alive.
I think that's the point. You should buy a Kodak and you'll feel better.
Tough
@@artfuldodger1286 thank you for making me laugh.
Amen to that. I graduated in 82 and appreciate the simpler times. Now we have 2020. LOL
Me, too.
Turning 62 today. So glad I grew up in a simpler time with photographs and families and holidays. ❤️📸
When I saw this in the 70s it made me smile, now it makes me cry! The years DO go fast..
Life goes by fast. Enjoy every moment. It will not wait.
I recently lost my Dad and when I hear this song by Paul anka it sends me back to those years!! I searched for the commercial and found it” it is wonderful commercial and even more wonderful is the full song by Paul Anka ❤️🙏
I loved these KODAK commercials. Reminders of my youth feeling safe and secure with my parents in a loving home.
I always associated Kodak with life because of commericials like these. A rather nostalgic and even thought-provoking commercial.
Paul Anka was my first vegas show, long tables 2 beer and cornish.I am now 67 yrs old and this song by paul brings me to tears
I was a single parent, and yes Paul was my daugters first show at Caesars
This song brings all the good and bad memories
Remember the times of your life
That song even made me sad as kid in the 70s. I knew one day it would all end and the world would change.
Whoever wrote this one was a genius. Almost 50 years later, and folks are still talking about it.
Paul Anka did! He also wrote My Way for Sinatra. One of the most prolific songwriters in history. Also insanely talented singer in his own right
This commercial rips me in half emotionally- reflecting back on my own wife and sons- all grown now. Where does time go and why does it fly by so fast? They have their own families now. Thanks for putting me in a mid-life crisis with this one robatsea!!
This makes me remember that i bought Kodak film so I could remember the memories of the past. I did.

The irony that a commercial about reminiscing about old memories, has now become a relic of the past, in itself.
*cue "Dust in the Wind" song* ;-)
In 1977 she was reminiscing about the 1940's when she first moved into the house. At the time that was 30 to 35 years ago. 1977 is now 41 years ago, longer ago than the time she was nostalgic for.
Brought back a lot of memories from my childhood. Thanks. Wonderful old 70's commercials. Man I miss those days!
The inside of that house looks like the one I grew up in . The outside yard is different . I remember this commercial oh so well .
I miss those days too. What was there is no longer here if it is its different. Fun times, fun memories. 70s were a great time to be a teen.
Is it possible to be nostalgic for nostalgia itself? Because that's how watching this is making me feel.
The problem is that nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
A bittersweet gem that tears me up every time. Thank you for the memories from a magical time. I wish we could go back.
Thanks Kodak...for being there for the times of our lives.
I saw this commercial when I was around 4 or 5 years old. At that time, I didn’t Really understand everything in it. I just knew it was sad. But now, as I am the same age as the “parents,” I know why it’s so sad 😢
Timeless! This piece reminds us of the power of cherished memories, the beauty in shared experiences, and the importance of family and friends.

I'm so sorry for your tremendous loss, Richard. I am single and without kids and my mom is 86. I dread losing her eventually. Hugs to you.

Vikki singing Times of Your Life for Kodak rocked! Thanks for posting this special clip!
This song was my junior high graduation song back in 1977!

If only i could time travel, I'd do it all over again
in theearly70s in Australia there was another kodak ad set at a birthday party i was in it as a 4 yearold. never seen it since

I don't know, but I shed a tear watching this commercial.
This viedo clip recalled the part of my memory, Thanks a lot !!
Awesome song and commercial !!!
Too bad they don't make commercials like this anymore.
“Kodak sells film, but they don't advertise film. They advertise memories.”
Thanks for uploading robatsea ! I love it .
i love paul Anka sooooooo much , he toke a close picture of him self in my camera in 1998 in chicago concert ....

Bonito comercial nostálgico y con la voz de la señora Vikki Carr señorial.

Beautiful, But yet depressing. Damn You Kodak!
That gets me right in the feels.
Watching this commercial, September 2019.
Paul Anka had a hit with this song, entitled "Times of Your Life." It wasn't the first time co-composer Roger Nichols had a commercial jingle become a radio hit. He also co-wrote (with Paul Williams) "We've Only Just Begun", which started out in a bank commercial.
We watched this in class for a writing project!
I thought that was Vikki Carr's voice. But the original Commercials was Paul Anka, then it was so popular he released a full version on record.
They are moving and she is giving her home one more look over -- you never know what you'll find! My son's signature saying he was here -- great way to let go.
Anyone 2020?
I love that song but the one Martin Nievera sing and the Paul Anka one
Yes, I remember ...
Why my eyes crying 😭😭😭
i think there is a commercial like this soundtrack but with Michael Langdon. hard to think of Kodak without him.
Someone needs to do a 4K digital restoration of this.
:28 when she traces her finger on his nose always gets me.
This song is on Lorenzo's Time
An even longer version of this ad here:

Im not sure hows ScreenVariety TV didn't took that list .. I've never miss my show..; put them in the top for all streaming.
When I was in College,I thought this song was for people. Now I
Great ad and song.. you'd think they could afford a better camera than one of those 110 instamatics
so dumb we didn't know we were alive. Nobody ever does.

Cloud storage? Yeah, I trust someone else to take care of all my stuff!
this song makes me cry... weird.

I prefer the Paul Anka version, but this sounds like Vikki Carr. I was never aware of or I just don't remember her doing this commercial.
Vikki Carr brings the emotion out in her God-given voice! Vikki performed this song like an angel. ❤️🙏✌️🎙📽🎶🎬🎶👏

Definitely not Peggy Lee but sounds more like Vicky Carr.
Could it be Shirley Bassey who sang Goldfinger for James Bond 007 soundtrack?
Michael Souhoka ...Nooooooo! 😆
Who's the female singer's name?
Vikki Carr
Does anyone know who's singing in this commercial? I know it could be a no-name singer but to me it sounds like Joni Sommers.
The beautiful three-time Grammy winner Vikki Carr.
KODAK
This commercial would be illigal today for not having enough POC people of crap. To many white normal happy people
Who is singing this I recognize the voice but just can't put my finger on it!
sounds like Vikki Carr
