Tissot will milk these sizes for at least a year with new colours, then rejuvenate the hype with a 37mm PRX
Haha! I think that's the plan, I agree :)
I hope they milk it! They should! So little options in unisex waterproof watches in 35mm!?! I hope other brands take notice!
37mm a bloody good idea mate
37mm i would buy eyes closed
If they did, it would be game set match. 37.5/38 is the perfect size for this watch. The 40mm was a mistake from jump
I really hope that the 35mm PRX will usher in a new era of smaller watches or rather well fitting watches :)
Greetings from Germany and thank u for the video!
I have 6.5'' wrists, so the watches that look best on me are between 33mm and 40mm. But my favorites are the 36mm ones.
That return to the old measures of the watches is very pleasant for me, I've been dreaming about it for years!
Back to factory settings. agree :)
I dont even consider the prx in 35mm that small.. it wears closer to a 36mm watch. And i wear anything from 32 to 39mm, so 35mm isnt that small to me! Im all for smaller, thinner and more refined watches in the future
Great choice! The secret is to wear whatever makes you happy and fits you best. that's the most important when it comes to sizing :) Cheers!
@@BraveBeatersthats the biggest thing, YOU gotta like it! I used to wear 43mm watches aswell, but my taste has changed over the years and i have gravitated more towards small dress pieces recently
I owned the 40 and sold it, I didnt find it too big but 37-38 would have been perfect for sure. This 35 felt and looked too small when i tried it
Yes, kinda a mid version is required :)
Your channel is excellent! Thanks for everything you do.
Thank you very much! I appreciate your words :)
40mm is too big, 35mm is too small but I do prefer the 35mm. Beautiful watch
6:05 I think it looks perfect for your wrist. I’m a bigger guy and it looked great on my wrist. Personal preferences I guess.
It has to do with personal preferences, I agree :) on that specific frame, indeed it doesent look small.
My preferred watch size is 40mm, so the new Explorer in this size will be great. Think some manufacturers are making smaller watches to appeal to the male and female market. Interestingly, the BB54 fits great for me as the case/lug to lug is quite big and it retains the 20mm lug width.
Bb54 is very cool and smart made. With a less tapared bracelet and it looks pretty masculine.
This watch at 35mm makes it more accesible and it seems many waych brands are realizing there is an appetite for people who want smaller watches. Not to mention the largest complaint of the 40mm watch was that it felt too large.
Now these are just excellent from a design, build quality and finishing perspective - I miss my quartz 35mm PRX - if I hadn’t recently purchased a Black Bay 36 I would definitely have opted for another 35mm PRX
Did u completely replaced it with the bb36? As in sold it, or it does not receive too much wrist time since bb36 took over? :)
@@BraveBeaters hey buddy - I sold the PRX before buying the Tudor - I consolidated from many watches down to 3 ‘meaningful’ watches - BB36 (grail) - CWC72 Mellor (sentimental) - G-Shock square (daily) - I have learned that less is definitely more
How much money did you lose!
@@davidcrandall4958 probably 20% overall loss over a 5 year period - give or take - but for me the destination that the journey arrived at is a happy one - I had fun along the way too :)
I just bought 35 mm prx automatic yesterday and you tell that its a ladies watch broke my heart 😢😢😢. Sometime i feel nice on my wrist but somebody says its a small dial watch 😢
makes sense to wear 40mm plus sizes for tool watches. 35-36mm is the classic mans watch. This prx 35mm fits more like a 36mm imo. I own 4 other watches in 40mm and my prx 35mm only felt small for the first hour then I got used to the classy look vs the clunky bulk look from arnold/Stallone era of watches. I love the 35-36mm look it definitely classier than 40mm plus watch sizes imo.
I would love for First to do a 37~38mm PRX, and I would also want to see a Yellow varient
My preferred, watch size is 38 mm,
Seiko alpinist, 017
Is a good indication of my favourite watch size .
This is truly a brave review.
haha, Cheers! :)
Great video - My watch size is dictated by the lug length (Max being 50mm but my sweet spot is 44-47mm)
Thank you! very true, the lug length should dictate the sizing better :)
Watch companies should also offer multiple sizes
Like small 37mm
I Think it's a matter of cost
Perfect size ( for me) and very happy about this downsizing trend
In my opinion, smaller watches have a certain elegance. I used to wear 40-44mm watches, but nowadays my favorites three watches in my collection are 32mm, 34mm, and 35mm. As a man, I find the PRX I'd most like doesn't exist yet. It seems odd to re-release a vintage quartz watch with an automatic movement. To honor the true spirit of the original, it should remain quartz. That's why I believe the best PRX is the 35mm quartz model, which aligns perfectly with the original's essence and the 70s era, when cutting-edge horology and accuracy were highly valued.
In that vein, I would love to see a 35mm PRX with a High Accuracy Quartz (HAQ) movement. This would capture the original's feel while incorporating today's most accurate technology.
Lastly, I don't think the 35mm PRX looks small on you. It looks perfect. This size suits most men.
5:58 from the outside the two watches really look so expensive and luxurious! ofc Rolex is much better in the inside... but visually Tissot did a gr8 job! im getting the 35mm automatic one soon in black dial
I have a thin wrist and I like the 40 version, but if they do a 37-38 version it will be the real game changer, I´m sure
Maybe a 38mm prx next?
Haha, yes! I was mentioning as well in the video, we are expecting mid size and some colored dials :)
@@BraveBeaters i think a 37.5mm version, right smack dab in the middle of the two sizes
I definitely prefer the 35mm for me personally but I just wish they would lose the date function altogether.
Did i already mention that the prx font make me think of Subaru’s sti? ;)
Haha. True, inspired from the digital revolution of the 70's
Amazing! What tablet are you using at 2:07?
It's the usual remarkable 2. I have to put it to work on the videos more often :)
Cheers!
The 35mm does look quite small, but after wearing one for a few days it looks pretty well sized on my skinny wrists. I think I’m fairly happy with it. Of course would have preferred a cheaper price, however, at the moment the 35 can be had for around £540 in the UK which isn’t that bad.
Tissot needs to make a 37,5 mm automatic version. The 35 is too small on my 7,25 inch wrist and the 40 overgangs my wrist.
I’d imagine 35mm being too small for you, but there was slight overhang on the 40mm on my 6.75in wrist, weird that it overhangs on yours?
@@dannyle3784you can have a large wrist, but if the shape of the arm/wrist is round, it’s possible that watches can overhang. Mine is more flat, so i can wear wear bigger watches.
The bracelet would be better for my preference on the 35 but the dial does seem too small sadly. I agree about the price. It should be at least 50€/$ less, not more expensive.
In my option, watch brands should just release more size options, rather then just shifting to smaller sizes overall. I’m quite a big fella (198cm/6’6” tall and quite chunky with almost 8” flat wrist) and it’s incredibly hard for me to find quality, everyday watch. Standard 40mm PRX looks a little toy-ish on my wrist. I hope that some brands will keep or even make larger models of their classic designs 😅 My sweet spot is 42-46mm. Lug to lug at 50mm for me is very comfortable and has quite a lot leftover space.
Haha, I feel you, I am close to your "specs" :)) and yes, in some cases brands should offer more options for the same model, as Oris does with their watches
You are a pair of Hulks!
Watches that size on my skinny wrists would make me look like an 8 year old kid 😆
There's the prx chrono in 42mm. If only I had bigger wrists I would absolutely go for it, it looks stunning
Yes I agree, you should go for the chrono
It fits too small. I tried the quartz version previously on my 7-7.25 inch wrist and felt the same. On thr other hand, the 40mm version with its not fully articulated first links, makes the bracelet flare out at the edges of my wrist and looks too big. Mind you that i frequently wear watches from 35 mm (Omega DeVille Prestige; dress and formal attire) to Bulova Lunar Pilot 45 mm without an issue. Currently I mostly wear a Certina DS Action 43 mm snd a Nomos Ahoi 40 mm, which hage significant presence but less so than the 40 mm PRX!
Hmm. I never felt the first links of the 40mm as sitting offset on the wrist. I have to test it tonight again :)
Btw, very nice collection you mentioned there!
@@BraveBeatersthank you! Its a re-born interest over the past year digging up some older items and adding some new. Your channel combines high end and more accessible items, along with a unique angle and excellent visuals.
38mm and a more vibrant blue on the dial and you have my money.
Great things come in small packages!
haha true!
What do you think will wear better on my 6.1"/15.5cm wrist between the 40mm and 35mm powermatic 80?
Ofcourse the 35mm.
@@ayrtonsenna1768 Man I was surprised when I saw "Ayrton Senna" for a sec on ur username💀 anyways, thanks!
I went to 40 mm ,, and came back to 37 and. 35 mm because 40mm failed in comfort and ergonomics when compared
Can be, yes. It depends how you feel it on the wrist :)
Cheers!
The in your face returns to subtle. Maybe it's to separate the enthusiast group from the Social Media group.
Was the 38mm skx a teaser ? For new video?
The 38 mm skx (5) was already reviewed :) It was highlighted for comparison purposes
40mm is too larg for me, 35mm is too small.
Fingers crossed for a 37-38mm.
:D Yes
If anything, the 35mm should be more expensive as Tissot needed to shrink the size of the movement. So keeping the price the same is reasonable imo
I have annoyingly small wrists of 5.7 inch/14.5cm and despite I am a nato guy and don’t like shiny bracelets let alone integrated, *I cannot thank Tissot enough for issuing this in its original 35mm size* 🙏 I have been hearing for two decades that the big watch trend was ending, but barely saw any evidence for this.
I have no empathy for people complaining this watch is too small because there is literally a plethora of bigger options out there. This is not a ladies watch either. It’s unisex. This is the size wrist watches have been for decades since their invention until gaudiness and Flavor Flav came into fashion. One if the frustrations I have is that new 34/35mm waterproof automatic watches are almost always very feminine, pink, with diamonds, or whatever. Really hope other brands take notice! 🤞
Please!
a Tudor Ranger in 34/35 🙏
a Longines Zulu in 34/35 🙏
a Speedmaster in 34/35 🙏
a Railmaster in 34/35 🙏
any Sinn UTC in 34/35 🙏
🤞
It's ridiculous. I mean, anyone can wear anything. The relevant criteria of choice are your forearm and hand proportions and, above all, your style.
@@holeOfFame I love a lot of watches because of how they are “styled”, but cannot wear them because they look like a wall clock i.e. ridiculous on _my_ tiny wrist, therefor “style” is not “above all”, for me.
@@JDYTC there might be a slight misunderstanding. When I talk about style, I don't think about fashion, or archetypes from pop culture or advertising.
@@holeOfFame No misunderstanding, but thanks anyway. I too was referring to its design.
40mm is my preferred size.
great video, what's your wrist size? 06:04
This small watch trend is a blessing for my wallet. Thank you.
The 35mm is way too small tbh, I've purchased the automatic ice blue in the 40mm as the 35mm is definitely a lady's watch.... although I have a wrist of 6.4 inch and it is kinda big the 40mm still feels a man's watch.
The 35millimeter came out a while ago!
2 years ago. yup. I was referring to the automatic 35 mm which has different proportions.
Oh! A powermatic 35 millimeter cool!
I have an 18 mm wrist and prefer smaller watches; and if this draws inpsiration from watches from the '70s, then the case size should also.
38mm would be the perfect size for me
Another really good review. I think the 35 mm looked better on your wrist than the 40 mm did but that may just be because of the camera though. I don’t think it looks lady like at all. Remember, a small watch Looks good on every wrist but a big watch only looks good on a big wrist.
I honestly don't know what the first few minutes of this video was ranting about.
I wld prefer Gentleman Titanium. This movement is no good for logitivity.
I'd prefer 38 mm
I can't believe that people honestly like wearing that tiny watches, and it is not just some peer pressure from loud watch forum minorities and influencers. My smallest was BB58 and I sold it after a few months. Didn't look right. Wish it was the size of Seiko Sumo.
I like Seikos in general. Their divers from Monster to Tuna 1000m are my favourite sizes and designs. I refuse to wear smaller than Monster unless it is free Submariner.
It’s just easier to wear daily and work with when you have an office job. Try typing with a brick tied to your arm all day
I guess, it dependes what is your prefered range and how you feel with them on the wrist.
I have quite a wider range: 35-45 mm :D
@@BraveBeaters I prefer larger in general but looks and lug to lug is probably more important than just a few more or less mm in diameter.
I like it when bracelet hangs almost straight down without curving around the wrist. Otherwise it looks bad to me, like that tight string around a ham.
Also you made very good point that smaller watch looks better with just dial and no rotating bezel. I would rather have 36mm explorer style than 39mm diver.
Unless you have a 8+ inches wrist, I don't see the point to have those big watches, most likely you like to show off....
@@JuJu-cz4kr Maybe a little show off and there is nothing wrong with that as long as you don't push it in their faces.
Let's not pretend we don't want our shiny new toys look cool and be noticed sometimes. Without that basic cheap phones and F91 would be enough to simply tell time.
Never cared, but just measured out of curiosity. Google converter from cm says 8.26 inches.
Is 37/38mm is coming? 😂
FIRST!
Cheers! I missed the start to reply second :)
Ah…. U beat me this time :)
If you're a man, with a normal 6-7 inch wrist... buy the 40.
I'm only interested if they fixed the movement , they Mangle the movement for the prx , they remove key components so when it comes time to service its going to cost ALOT also they removed the pin/screw for regulation so your kind of screwed there now .
Usually the new pwmatic is swappable. I am actually curious where can you service them if they don't have in place services centers.
You've missed the point on those desighn cues but it does stink that they're so expensive to repair!!
They can be repaired by any Swatch certified watch maker. I dropped my Hamilton with a Powermstic 80 in a marble floor. It was fixed and regulated by my local watchmaker with no drama.
Have you reached out to a qualified watchmaker? I had my Powermatic serviced and regulated with no promblem. I use Shami Fine Watchmaking and they are swatch certified, but its my understanding any decent watchmaker should be able to service, repair.
