@JJA1987 I didn't say he was. My favorite driver curses, but he doesn't deny that's who he is. It wasn't just cursing. He was also very disrespectful after he confused the safety crew after initially asking for a push.

“Flat tires I need a push”… then changes his mind and says “Tow me”… then cussed out the track workers for being confused. I’d really appreciate spending one minute with Joey on the phone.
On the phone?!? If I was a tow driver that car would still be sitting there. Or I would have pulled it around twice as fast. For 3 laps.
Then he immediately changed and said tow me… and were clueless. He has every right to be livid

The tow truck driver shouldn’t be doing the job. He’s clueless. You don’t tow a car backwards with damage like that. Even if the driver says so, common sense needs to be used
This is all on NASCAR… not Joey or the tow truck drivers. 2 years in the making and still no solution on four flats. Joey is simply trying to stay on lead lap and in the race. 2 years ago he would of drove it back.
People have to remember he’s got to be FLUSHED with adrenaline still. That feeling combined with the anger after a crash, I’m not surprised he’s pissed that they’re all just standing around like 😲

Huh?? Standing around? He wasn’t hurt and asked to be push after the safety team jumped out of their truck and rushed to him. There’s nothing for them to do at that point. The guy in the white uniform that walked up to the car who Joey is yelling at, is a nascar official. It even says that on the uniform. The wrecker is contracted with nascar to be the wrecker team for all races. It’s called Stepps. Just like AMR is contracted to be the medical team for all races.

All he needed was 4 tires and a tow to pit road they tow it and drive 2 miles and his front gets damaged and when they were gonna tow it the toe link fucks up and he couldn’t turn it

@@alanjohnson911They were cleaning debris. The tow truck driver is the only one that tows the vehicle but all he got was the initial thing Joey said: "I need a push." His first "I need a tow" wasn't very loud to dudes already walking away while already yelling his initial request to the tow driver and also wearing race helmets. It was a pretty minor miscommunication that could have been cleared up a lot faster by just repeating his request for a tow. "Put the truck to it" sounds like he wants a push again and just added to the delay.
Can't really blame anyone here. Joey was elevated after a wreck trying to shoot a gap and go 3 wide, two conflicting requests that Joey gotta yell because of the noisy environment and helmets. It is funny though
I don't blame him for being pissed. getting spun around will do that to ya. He has always been my favorite this takes all that to a new level. That would be something I would do and say if I were in the seat.

You don't know that either....guys raced differently in the old points format (I hate the playoff b.s.), consistency was rewarded and you raced for points much different than now, so you have no clue if Joey would've have or wouldn't have won a championship in the old system. Besides....it doesn't matter, it's darn near 2 decades since the old points system so it makes no sense to make your statement.

NASCAR needs to equip each safety truck with a set of new tires and a mobile pit gun. Have the safety crew change the tires then go back to pit lane and replace them with actual race tires.

Yea except that its pretty much impossible to do on a banked racetrack like this. Theres a reason why they tell you to always change your tires on level ground. They could lift it with a truck but by that point its defeated the whole purpose anyways lol

So lets get this straight. Logano says "I have flat tires. I need a push". They safety guy calls to others and relays the info. Logano soon after changes his opinion and says he needs to be towed. The crew didn't hear him change his mind. He then loses his mind and goes nuts? Little baby Joey needs a new helmet. His heads too big and doesn't fit.
When he said he needed a push he clearly meant he needed a tow, he explained I need a tow, hook it up! right after the guy said he said he needs a push what does that mean?

the cars arent made to be driven when wrecked, the teams make it that way for downforce, its not a next gen feature. it was a lost cause from the time the tires went flat

The way that crew tows cars is ridiculous, he may have more damage from the tow than the crash itself. That alone would infuriate me. No reason why this track does not have its own rollback to pick them up and tow them in. Costing these teams money uneasaraly
It’s how napscar has been training with the wrecker service to do with the design of the new car. That wrecker team is contracted with napscar to be the only wreckers used at every event. It’s a multi year contract just like AMR is to provide medical services. Tracks are only responsible for the fire safety. Plus, the guy in the white that Joey is actually yelling at, is an nascar official. Not the safety team.

This is the side of racing the TV broadcasts don't do any justice for. It's so rare to hear the unfiltered dialogue of a Nascar driver like this because everybody is so scared to make sponsors unhappy so they put on the facade when the cameras are in front of their face. You never truly get the real personalities of the drivers, only the fake ones they put on for the camera.
I would love a totally unfiltered, uncensored, rated R option of watching Nascar. See and hear these drivers actual personalities that they cover up so much. It would make the sport 10x more interesting instantly.
Some drivers you can get their uncensored live in car radio. Dale Jr had one and he was always fun to listen to lol

NASCAR really needs to work with Goodyear to redesign the tires so they can be equipped with an inner-linner. I'm not a Logano fan, but the fact he was knocked out of the race due to a couple flat tires (combined with the rough ride the tow truck provided) is a complete joke.
The reason these cars won't move well with flat tires is because when nascar went with the larger wheels there is no longer an inner liner like the old 5 lug wheel which was essentially a tire within a tire used on tracks 1 mile or bigger. I can only guess there is no longer enough room inside the bigger wheels for the inner liner.
Nascar always touts safety first above all but it would seem the old steel wheels were far safer to use overall than the newer ones and I dont mind the bigger wheels .

@@JJA1987 the best solution was the old solution, small rims with the huge run-flat tires. The cars didnt need to be raised up as they could rely on the inner tire, now we can't have that because the rims are bigger and the tires have a lower profile. Raised cars are slow around corners, especially the gen 7 as it has the bottom diffuser. NASCAR screwed themselves with this car, kinda like the COT but without the safety advancements 🤪

They weren't run flat tires, the tire had a rubber innerliner inside it that would allow you to limp it back to the pits, also was a safety feature as if the tire blew at speed, the innerliner would still be up and allow the driver to maintain control.

NASCAR has a major problem with the Gen 7 car and flat tires. They also have a problem with their idiotic restart rules - four attempts to get a clean restart for stage 2! They could help by not having stage cautions.
The drivers can't see how much damage they have when inside the car. Their #1 concern is to refire it and get back to the pits. Just sitting there is frustrating to a driver - most drivers would have reacted the same way. And for those that don't know, if you get out of the car, you're automatically out of the race, you can't get back in it.

As someone who follows NASCAR a little, I do not understand how someone expects a vehicle to move if there are flat tires. Just get a flat bed like everyday citizens use for their vehicles. What's the challenge in this?

I was yelling at the workers from my TV, at the same time as Joey. NASCAR needs to find a quicker solution to moving Cup Series Next Gen cars with flat tires. It’s embarrassing to watch how disorganized the response is every week to this issue. NASCAR created this situation when they designed the Next Gen car and didn’t think through all of the scenarios that would be created with this type of race car design, which is totally different than a stock car. How about creating a special trailer that comes along both sides of the car and suspends both the front and the rear of the car on a platform or straps like they do for lifting large boats in and out of the water at a marina. NASCAR - if the car evolves, then so must your preparation to get cars back to the pits.
They need to consider doing what Joey said on The Front Strech Interview - Have a Truck that has 4 Tires and a Jack there when the car can't move instead of dragging back around the track

I've watched the sport my entire life, I knew after he sat there about 30 seconds he would get mad that's just the way it is. It's 130° in that car, he goes from trying to win the race to wrecked. With this next-gen junk car, one flat tire and it sits down on the rub blocks. It's an extremely high pressure environment. That car is so loud, unbelievably loud and it is hard to drive. It's natural, after about 30 seconds of watching a safety crew in no hurry to do much, that driver starts getting mad, with no chance to win which is what it is about
