VW Transporter T6 Kenwood Floating Head Unit Stereo Install - DMX9720XDS

A quick overview of how easy it is to install the Kenwood DMX9720XDS 10.1 inch floating headunit in a Volkswagen T6 Transporter. We will also cover the T6.1 in a future video coming soon.
A lot of this install is the same for installing the Kenwood DMX8021DABS 7" build in stereo unit.
We're super impressed with the Kenwood DMX range . Kenwood themselves have worked really closely with VW on these units. In fact a lot of OEM VW stereos have now been discontinued, so VW will only offer these Kenwood units as an alternative if your standard VW stereo goes faulty.
Both the above mentioned stereos have all the tech you would expect of a high end head unit including wired and wireless CarPlay, rear camera inputs, bluetooth connectivity, high speed USB 2 port and lots more. The kit we sell comes complete with the interface to retain genuine VW functions including steering wheel controls etc.

They work so well in the T6.1. Kenwood have had to get all the SOS integration etc for VW to approve it. We'll get it installed and video live soon

Did it works with vw camera, radars and vw Bluetooth (for the mic integrated)

VW Camera yes but you will need a patch lead. We can supply this. Radar yes. Bluetooth if uses its only mic but you can not dial out using the steering wheel.

Does this integrate with the mfd to show turn by turn instructions as it does with the factory unit?

Yes it will do if the van had navigation unit before.

On a T6? what setting do you mean? On a T6.1 yes you can. It has all the factory menus.

On the T6, the USB isn't retainable. It would be USB lead into the glove box. We have actually previously modified the built in USB to work but there is no actual retention lead.

Yes it will, you just need a different wiring loom which we have it stock.
