j8 and j9 come with nylon box housings now which is stronger than the polycarb.

I love my gen 9 just rewired it all new motor better spring metal gears and all that roughly pushing 350-400fps with decent accuracy

My j8 used nylon gear box and metal gear n it still alive till now.. using 1.2 spring and 11.1v batt.. i using it every single game..

$10 cast gears in the Platinum + Gold range....you would think they would have better then that....

Yes they are a cast however they are good quality cast gears that cost a bit more than $10. Both of my platinum blaster still run them with absolutely no dramas. Even my Airsoft guns in NZ still run the same cast gears.

the APS blasters are nice but it's worth mentioning that box is absolute rubbish, the plastic boxes that come with gen8/9 etc will hold up to more use than the APS, unfortunately the boxes are far from platinum

Too bad the APS gearboxes are shit as can be. Singularity nylon gearbox is like 2 to 3 times more durable than the crap cast aluminium APS gearbox.
