She ripped a mans jaw apart. She was 110% a threat lolol.
tbh only reason she stalked them is because they are pretty much not supposed to be there, like how would you feel if it was 300 B.C and 6 people with weapons came onto your land. Also when she abducted the boy remember she didn't kill them she instead feed him due to his starvation. And when she ripped adems jaw open is because he was hunting her and became a threat. But than again she could have been a threat im just saying though.
@@ytzenx1121Come during the day time with offerings of peace then. Or just stay away from the new tribe. But only appearing at night and snatching up a child is a weird way to introduce yourself to the neighbors.

The problem with caveman movies like this is that they just take modern people and give them spears. This movie could have taken place in the 1200's and nothing would have been different.
@@halofornoobs93 I mean thats how it is, unless they explicitly try to depict other human species like neanderthal, denivovan, maybe cro-magnon? But if its homo sapien then yes they’d look like us. Now caveman language is basically unknown but a movie did try to make a language using broken caveart which depicted some letters and the movie was called “Quest for Fire”. It has Ron Pearlman in it for a big name but its a bit hard to watch because its entirely in a mostly made up caveman language.
We also have surviving Paleolithic clothing so we know what our ancestors would wear and most of the animals would be the same but that depends how far back you go. Geography is also important if it takes place in the americas then they need to hire Native American actors for historical accuracy as they were the people whom existed at the time the well known clovis people.
Yeah I don’t see anything wrong with casting modern people aside from making sure everyone is fit and matches the geography of the time. A black person in the americas 20,000 years ago does not make sense so that would be bad for me at least.
NGL my first thought when dealing with monsters that avoid fire: build multiple fires in a circle around the group. Smoke might be an issue, but it reduces the risk that they'll come after us anyways.

I can understand to save his son from whatever took him, but running into an unknown forest on an unknown island for you and your SMALL group is never an smart choice. The trees gives the monster more opportunities to hunt them down. I know what I about say is black/cold-hearted, but you have to think for the best of the group back in those times.

How did they even come to the conclusion that they HAD to sacrifice anyone. All they had to do was not do stupid things and protect themselves properly.

Idk why but my personal gameplan when I realized this was super dark all the time and fighting in the dark is hard, my idea was set the freaking forest a blaze and walk along the edge of the flames allowing for you to basically have a mobile sun during the night

I wonder if the nomadic a groups back then would have realized how valuable a group of people not related to any of you would have been. Yes you have to share resources and shake up the group dynamic, but fresh genes and more workers!

Damn, that was a good twist that makes you think. Art like this that makes you think and challenges how you think is awesome. Two groups of humans who are pushed by nature that take two different paths to survive when a common language would have brought them together for an ultimate goal. Just wow.
Maybe the last two Neanderthals were wiped out by modern humans trying to scary them off to survive. Maybe their kind was killed off and now they fear modern man. They had to make monsters to scare them away. Great movie, makes you think...

It's filmed in Scotland but it could kinda be anywhere. They're speaking a "mix of Arabic and Basque" so it's not really accurate to any place or time.

I don't know how optimal and efficient this would be but at night time, setup multiple campfires around where you are setup so that you can see the monster before it reaches the group. (yes i know it would take a long time to create many campfires)
I dont get the point of splitting up and risking fighting the cave woman 1v1. Clearly that hasnt worked out for them so far
How sure are you about it being Britain? I think Doggerland (the land between Britain and Scandinavia) might have still been above water at this point, in which case it wouldn't be an island. I haven't seen the movie but it seems entirely possible they could have sailed west from India to Africa, from Italy to Spain, even from Japan to China.
I assumed it was crossing the straits of Gibraltar.
@dragondov That's mostly south to north travel though, rather that way to west. Assuming the shape of the land was largely like nowadays at least: I have no idea how sea levels etc. souls have affected that region. Do you have other clues, maybe the fauna or something?

Sorry, but no, Shelter is priority number 1. It reduces metabolic pressure, offers protection from the megafauna you just pointed out are still alive at this point in time, and will give some rudimentary protection from any hostile neighbors. Even if it is nothing more than a cave, that could be the difference between life and death. Water is important, but freshwater is (as noted) fairly easy to come across. So again, SHELTER is the number one priority.

It didn't seem like they had any issues with starting or tending fires (other than the one time they were in a rush in the forest). Why wouldn't they have three fires (or four) arranged around your camp? Especially once near the forest with plenty of wood.
