Those angels were pretty clearly not actually trying to win. They could have just swarmed the place. It's not like they're afraid of dying or anything, so they could just throw sheer numbers at the diner until everyone was unalived. What the heck were they doing goofing off that entire time?

... it's God. This isn't 'God' from a video game where the term just means they are really powerful. He literally knows everything lol. While you're right, the Angels didn't want to go through with it, and that's why they weren't really trying that hard, is because they were all hesitating... there is no 'They had to go before God got suspicious'. He knew they didn't want to do it.
What I always found ironic about this movie is that Lucifer and his Demons are awfully quiet throughout this whole ordeal

Considering Lucifer/Satan doesn't care about humans, and would gladly make them suffer, if able, I imagine he's sitting back with a bowl of popcorn while watching his dad try to wipe out humanity a second time.
If they had a lot more biblical accurate looking angels than just the low class ones this movie would have been too much for people but I would have loved it.

This is one of the most non horror movies that legit scared me. Those things the people turn into actually unsettle me.
Probably because the idea that a ANGEL not a demon but a ANGEL, possessing humans and telling them they’ll burn in hell, is actually terrifying
Biblically angels and demons look the same so it makes more sense than 99% of movies.

He couldn't keep his wings otherwise he'd still be able to be manipulated/controlled/possed whatever by god, that's why the neck collar fell off and you saw that kind of halo effect collapsing in as he lost his divine power, he lost his power but gained free will and able to fully act against gods will like any other human. Same as the slave Bracelets on the Genie in Aladin he's bound to the lamp, Angels are bound to God.

Then how did he betray god in the first place with the collar on. If he can't betray god with the collar on, then the act of cutting off his wings would be considered betrayal and not be possible. So yes, by this story's plot, it would be possible to find nukes or other weapons like that.

OK, about the "Michael cutting his wings was a mistake"-part: I always thought that included the angel cutting his ties to heaven. Yes: he lost the ability to fly, but with the wings he wouldn't have had the the freedom to do so. I mean: you show literal shackles falling off seconds after losing his wings. Michael paid a price for his freedom.

"I would have kept the wings" And that was going to be his worst mistake. Based off the movie it seems like those very wings act like a leash to god's will as the halo seems to fade after they're lost. The last thing you need while on a mission to protect someone is to be tethered to something that can yank, freeze, or even corrupt your goal even if it's for a second and cause you to stand aside while the deciding shot is being made.

The odd thing is that during the fight scene between Gabriel and Michael, he says that tearing off the wings removes the leash and that Michael should have ripped Gabriel's wings off.

You forgot the most important part, his eyebrows.
I think a few mistakes may have been made in the logic of your own solutions on this one.
First off, using their time to set up additional defenses. While yes, it seems like the best play at the time, it would ultimately sabotage you in the end. Playing so many of your best defenses up front leave you extra vulnerable after the initial attack. The angels are smart enough to set traps, which means they are smart enough to recognize them, and have many hours between strikes to consider counters. With no clue how long this ordeal will go on for, it would make more sense to only set what you can reasonably believe you'll need with some margin for error at a time. This leaves you with potential to change up the allocation of your very limited resources as new opportunities become available. Personally, I would've taken advantage of the growing number of abandoned cars during the day to park myself a much more effective barricade and roadblocks. Maybe allocate some of that fuel as well to turn them into a dangerous mine field.
The second major error is suggesting that everyone stay to fight Gabriel at and overwhelming him with gunfire. While this would be worth the risk if he were your only obstacle, it's a terrible decision under the circumstances. Those bullets weren't embedding in his wings, meaning they were likely ricocheting. There's not much room for so many people to move around the diner at once, and they're not exactly all gun trained either. A hail of missed or ricocheted bullets leaves excessive risk of injuring one another and severely crippling anyone's chances of surviving a follow-up assault. Not to mention if one of those rounds were to bounce into the only fighter able to keep up with him. In that case, you'd never make it far enough to find out.

Well if he was under control to begin with he wouldn't of been able to rebel at all. I think this was a moral test for Michael and if he truly thought he was serving an unjust God then he shouldn't be using it's power. However since he clearly was remade a new angel because he did the right thing the God in this movie was actually just and it's hard to say if this all didn't play out as planned by God.

Only Cinema Summary could confidently say "I have a plan to beat the *Captial-G GOD* themselves", and ACTUALLY have some weight to their words. However, if any god, either Roman, Japanese, or Christian, wanted you dead...There really wouldn't be any chance of surviving. Like, *OMNIPOTNENT* beings don't just give up when you survive a few of their challenges, and kill their forces. They could easily curse you, or thanos snap you, cause they are *gods.*
Only way to beat them is Find their Weaknesses, Make some... cruical friends and nasically be ready to scourge the world.

The thing that always got me about this movie is that God plays games with these people and gives them essentially a zombie apocalypse, when dropping massive pillars of fire all around the world would be a much more efficient alternative

I love the ending of this movie. The group has one advantage in its corner that its members don't seem to fully fathom until the end; the very fact that humanity wasn't instantly wiped out means that God either isn't decided, or this is actually a stealth test of the angels. I thought of this, but when the story actually turned in that direction I was so pleasantly surprised. So often movies will just gloss over all logic and reason in favor of more explosions.

The series actually shows that the angels are durable enough to survive nukes. Weapons only hurt them when it's used by another divine being i think.

@@falsnamae3511That's actually what the series all about. Although there were some twist in the series the deviated from the bible. Michael was actually the one who committed a genocide first. In the series, Michael was the flood sent from heaven to cull humanity, the ark was actually a bunker to hide the survivors from Michael. It was Gabriel that saved humanity by intervening, beating Michael n unconscious and leaving him to die. Michael was then saved by a boy who passed by despite knowing who he is. So he decided that it was a test from God and he failed because the boy showed mercy by saving him even when he had all the reasons and opportunity to do the opposite. And for that reason, Michael has been determined to protect humanity ever since. Gabriel at some point later was living on Earth in a human body. He had a son that would be David. After David slayed Goliath, he was destinated to become king but was then assassinated by the king of that time. Gabriel was furious, he killed the king, left for heaven and decided that human are treacherous and ungrateful for what he had done for them. And later in the series, it was revealed that God did not specifically ordered the angels to punish humanity, he only left behind an artifact that allowed them to do so. And Gabriel decided that it was God intention to exterminate humanity otherwise he wouldn't left them with the artifact. Michael on the other hand interpreted it as a test from God and pleaded Gabriel not to used the artifact with no success. And that's how it happened.

A factor that needs to be stated in this videos:
These are ordinary people, thrown into a supernatural situation that has them dealing with monsters they have never encountered before.
None of them are trained to handle this, and in a situation like this, all of them are scared, confused, and just doing their best to survive.
So while it's easy to judge their actions from the safety of our homes, when put in their shoes, a majority of us would end up doing the same things, when put in their situation.
All that being said, idc how scared you are:

The point of these videos is “How to beat _____ situation”. That’s why he brings up random studies or niche trivia that a regular person probably wouldn’t know.
I’m not sure that made much sense, sorry. Essentially, these videos are not intended to answer the question of “what WOULD they do?” These videos are intended to answer “what COULD they do?”

Because again, in the mythology...Michael is often depicted as one who intercedes on behalf of Man to defend and strike down the Serpent. It's why Michael is often shown in heraldry as a knight striking down a serpent...representing Satan. Again, the film plays with that interestingly. In the dire hour, Michael the Archangel (First among angels) comes in his full regalia and glory to protect mankind.
I will also note, I'm not a Christian but I find their mythology and mysticism fascinating.

im 2 years late to this video but heres my take
the biggest mistake Michael made was not bringing the correct weaponry. A light machine gun is absolutely devastating in many situations as it is capable of sustained accurate fire. Against unarmed targets at ranges up to 400-500 meters this would be absolutely devastating, especially when you have 5-6 individuals using them. the next issues are training, disposables, and protection. all of this shooting is going to leave you and your companions deaf very quickly, and you will be unable to communicate effectively, lose coordination, and succumb the the monsters. hearing protection is a must. secondly, you would need an adequate amount of ammunition. this could be in excess of 10,000 rounds, and you would need spare barrels for the machine guns so they dont melt their own barrels off due to all the shooting. finally, Michael would have to brief all of the civilians on how to effectively reload, change barrels, aim and control these weapons otherwise its pointless him even having these people.

The one major thing I'd disagree with is the thought surrounding Michael's decision to remove his wings. It isn't explicitly said, but the thought seems to be that angels are commanded by God and generally have to obey orders and so the wings will hinder his mission to go Rogue. We also don't know what other restrictions angels face, so cutting off his wings would unshackle him in that regard. Though, of it would've been very helpful to have bulletproof wings which also allow you to fly.
