    Here in Los Angeles, they just raised the number of deliveries for Platinum from 100 to 150. Kinda tough to get and KEEP that number of deliveries in that rolling 30 days. Sure you can say its only 5 deliveries per day every day, but the market here is so saturated that even during some peak hours (Lunch and Dinner) I'd dash for 4-5 hours and only get 3 orders. Sometimes the wait can even be 45 minutes. The other day I had to wait almost 2 hrs for my for delivery to come through. TWO HOURS!!! This was in the Encino/Sherman Oaks area.

    I only Dash earn by time and only when the total per hour is at least 20 per hour (in my zone that's at least 4 per hour more than standard). Assuming 2/3 of my time is active, that's 14 or so per hour plus tips. My area tips pretty well so I end up at 20 per hour. AND the best part of earn by time is WAY LESS stress. No more worries about red lights, restaurant waits, etc. So much more calm.

      Tbh earn by time in my zone is usually $12.50, highest I’ve seen it go is $15. I did the math, I still make way more doing per offer. Even when I sat at Wendy’s for 20 minutes, I made $19 for that, total drive time and delivery to 2 customers maybe 40 minutes.

    I love that you are doing this for the sake of comparing and giving realistic obstacles we all face when dashing. I got to a point before I got a new job and stopped dashing full time that pretty much 90% of the orders I would take were shop and delivery only. I was averaging about $23-25 after gas for close to 6 months doing that, but I did cherry pick. My AR is at 35% and that’s about where I hovered around for a while. I gave up on the different driver statuses. So long as I “trained” the algorithm to give me shop and deliver I made the most consistent good money

    17 minutes for the first shop is pretty good! i find i get less offers on ebt, but my market isn't as big as yours. could be a good way to boost your numbers though. especially since the may per mile seems to be good in your area. @@jamminj8822it depends on the area. In my area, we take upwards of 80 deliveries per week. Not much, but we also only work 5 hours a day 4-5 days a week. Nearly every order we take on a daily basis is stacked… doesn’t matter what day of the week it is. That’s when the universities are in session. During the summer, the area dries up and we’re lucky to get one order every 10 minutes. We’re constantly changing our strategy depending on what’s going on in our area.
      When strategies come into play, it’s best you learn your area, learn its special functions, know when you should have the most business, and know the city calendar. Every area is different and every strategy should be fashioned to meet that area.
      If you think beefing up your AR during the early week days so you can cherry pick during the weekends will profit your delivery business, go for it. Only thing to remember here,,, you’re trading dollars for miles. You don’t want to be trading too many miles for petty dollars. We can get an offer for $10 going 6 miles to the university up north, but we can also decline it and get a stacker for $10/2 miles locally. I get my $10 and am back in circulation before you ever finish the 6 mile trip. There are dash opportunities on the campuses, but they definitely won’t pay much. Most are the $4/2 mile variety due to the short distances. Difference on our campuses is they’re all compressed towns. Distance isn’t measured by miles, but by how long it’ll take you to get there depending on; time of day. Money to miles aren’t the issue there.,. Money to time invested is.

      They have proposition 22 playing into that. If I lived in cali, I’m not sure I’d dash any other way than by the hour. They get paid more, but they can afford less. Lots of green in their pockets, but can’t spend it on much. Makes them feel wealthy when they go on vacation in states that have lower minimum wage and lower costs for everything.
      Folks are always making fun of states like Alabama and Mississippi. Those folks don’t need much money to live a nice life. They have little to no state debt, and their people typically see $100k as a lot of money still. The same apartment they rent for $850, will cost you $1500 in Virginia, and $2500 in New York. Never assume you’ll be in a better place just because you move to an area where folks make more money. They may make more, but they damn sure pay more too.

    How many miles are you driving ALL together from start time to when you end every time? A look at these numbers you should of NOT of driven more than 44 miles for the day, or else you just paid to work! A screenshot of your beginning mileage and ending mileage for each video would prove a lot trust! Math never lies💯. As always we appreciate the info✌️😬👍

    earn by time rocks. You'll get double orders a lot and there on the way. you get your delivery amounts. you switch back and get ready they bombard you with trash if you're in the same zone. like 2 pick-ups really close to each other but hard to get to and there wait places. I'm top dasher and i know even with 1$ promos earn by time is longer trips sometimes but hey its by time. FYI sometimes the screen messes up and it is by time but prior to its delivery I see my pay. humm so it knows the future. but earn by times great if your app has a glitch or wrong pinn etc your covered. sometimes? hummmmm

    New dasher, tell me if this makes sense. I thought of accepting every order on mon tue wed, with the thought those are mostly going to be single/small orders cause it's a weeknight... get the AR up, but then be selective on Fri Sat nights because that's when people would more likely make big orders. ? Think that's a strategy to consider

    • @YourDriverMike
      @YourDriverMike  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Could definitely work, I find when there are less orders on slower week days/nights you may get awful margins but it's up to you to see what works best for you. There's cherry picking (only selecting the highest margins), there's this new program plus more strategies. I'm working on an updated Mastering Delivery course which is our A-to-B master class on delivery apps so stay tuned for that.

    • @JohnWalker-yb5kh
      @JohnWalker-yb5kh Před 2 měsíci

      Not a bad strategy. I try to stay around 80% myself, if you find they keep throwing you bad orders just do a few, they usually will make it up to you later in the shift. The computer also likes you to schedule in advance and be on time. Good luck out there.
