Zayn fans won't like what I'm going to say, but one of the main reasons Louis doesn't talk to Zayn and why their friendship ended is because he didn't show up to the funeral even though he promised to. All the other boys were there for him, supported him, except Zayn. We don't know exactly how it happened and why he didn't come, but it hurt Louis terribly.

Louis is indeed a beautiful soul. I lost my mom unexpectedly a year after he lost his (it’ll be 5 years on December 15 for me) and this song helped me a lot since it’s release. Granted I’m 10 years older than him and my mom was 20 years older than his, but having to live through this sucks at any age. Add to that Louis spent so much time away from his mom during the 1D journey and he was still young. It broke my heart when I found out his mom passed away. She raised a wonderful man that’s for sure.
I feel you guys, he is such a likeable larrikin. (I love his music too.) He is always donating to charities and also keeps his ticket prices down etc. I had a major change in my life and the first time I listened to this song I was just sobbing, never had that reaction to a song before. Louis is a huge family oriented guy his family consisted of 7 kids including him when his mom passed and was always known has the family man/mammas boys. Honestly I cannot listen to this song on a regular basis because of it's meaning in a way it's too powerful but such a beautiful song he seemed to make the lyrics somewhat uplifting in saying his mom told him to keep powering through such an inspiring guy. To me he is the most humble and relatable of the boys, he has the closest relationship with his fans because of that and for many other reasons. Louis performed his first single "Just hold on" which has a very similar meaning days after she passed on the xfactor and all the boys (but Zayn) came to support him which was the last time they've been seen together as a full group. Hope you continue with Louis!

This song is tough, I’ve been so lucky to see Louis a few times on tour sing this live and it’s always emotional but he brings hope with it too ❤ His mum once told the fans that when Louis is having a bad day, he goes and does something good for someone else because he really does try to not dwell on the negative or bad. He really is an inspiration and not scared to be vulnerable or real.

yeah, you got it almost right. Louis' mom passed away in December 2016 and then his sister did a couple of days after Louis released the music video of Two of us in early 2019.

THANK YOU for this reaction!! This song always brings me to tears. It’s like, despite how sad and heartbreaking the circumstances surrounding the song are, it’s actually a hopeful and positive song. Idk how Louis does it but he’s honestly just so amazing for always looking at the cup half full and inspiring others to do the same. This song has helped A LOT of people, and Louis knows it. A lot of fans tell him about how much it means to them that he’s written a song like this one and that they can relate and it helped them with their own grief.

Louis’ bio father left shortly after Louis was born like (week/s) so it was just him and Jay, his mother, for a handful of years until his mother met his stepfather (Tomlinson) and had his siblings. He believed since they were first to start and create the family he’d be the one to pass away next. So when it was actually his sister it really tore him apart 😢 I cry when I listen to this and pray Louis is doing better emotionally 💙 thank you for listening and your empathy !!
I forgot to mention that Louis performed his first Solo song "Just Hold On" three days after his mom passed away, live on the X-Factor... I can't even imagine, when I lost my dad I couldn't even speak without crying for days, and HE SANG and performed a whole song. I'll be forever thankful to Steve Aoki, Harry, Niall and Liam for being there for Louis.
Just Hold On is not my the music style I would prefer, but the lyrics are so nice and Louis has something special that makes me want to listen. It improves my mood so easily.

Sweet reaction. Yes. It's a very sad song. One of my favorite songs of Louis because it is so emotional and vulnerable. It's so real and raw. I do find it harder to listen to now because I lost a parent early this year and yeah, it hits even more. He's a very strong person.
You mixed up the years a little otherwise you got it right. This performance was 4 yours after his mom's passing. Still a very emotional song. An no matter what age you are, losing a parent or someone you love dearly will always be hard. ❤ At the time of releasing his album he said something about how he had to write this song. He carried a lot inside, found it difficult to write but once he got this song out everything else loosened and he could start the process of moving on. He had just started to find his footing when this song was released and that's when he lost his little sister. It's so tragic.
He has done a really beautiful thing with this song. As he and his mom did a lot of charity together he did this little Bucket list thing with an elderly man that had lost his wife at the same time. As well as doing something for another person it also asks for donations at the end credits. It's called "Two of us, Richard's bucket list". Really a heart warming watch.

Also may be just for your own enjoyment the video he made for the song is absolutely outstanding where Louis actually plays the piano and guitar for this. I saw those live on tour and have never been so moved. And it’s hard to believe that none of Lewis songs have ever gotten radio play! I can’t wait for you to hear more of his end if someone doesn’t pay soon for the bucket list video I’ll be figuring out how to. Louis wanted this to be a song of strength and inspiration and not about him grieving, he wanted people to get strength from it and I felt that. When I look back on 2020 and 2021 when I lose my grandfather and little cousin who is like my sister. I listened to this song and it comforted me to an extent and I thank Louis for having the courage to write and release this song. I've always admired how strong minded he is despite what he has been through in his life. Thanks for taking us to your journey on discovering how great Louis is both personality and music wise. I just sub I hope you reach your goal and react to Louis's 2nd album when it comes out. 😁

This song is real art - to take a personal tragedy and turn it into something people can appreciate and identify with.
When this song first came out, I was touched by it. Then one day I was listening to it while driving, my then two year old son asleep in his car seat. It suddenly hit me that (God willing, because no parent wants to outlive their child), he and his brother will be in Louis’ position, and I won’t be there to help them, or to try and get them help that could make it easier. That’s when the song started to make me cry. The way music can hit you in different ways at different times, and affect people differently yet equally as powerfully, really shows the power of music.
It also made me think what it would be like if I were in Louis’ mother’s position. When she passed, I believe her youngest children, twins, were maybe two. I can’t imagine knowing that I was leaving my children when they’re so young. And I’m guessing it must add to the older siblings’ and the twin’s father’s pain, knowing the twins are likely too young to remember their mother well, perhaps at all. A horribly sad situation, out of which Louis wrote and shared a beautiful song. A big thank you to him. And you guys, for sharing this performance and your thoughts.

Louis released two of us in 2019 and I have been a fan of him since 2014 so I remember the news when Jay (his mom) passed. It was heartbreaking to know that family of seven children suffered this loss but when Fizzy (Louis sister) died 1 week after the release of two of us it destroyed me as a fan completely I remember how I was grieving with his family like I was so so sad imagining the pain they must go through. I remember people that weren’t fans were extremely extremely empathic and sad and emotional too when these news broke it was so horrible. Thank god this song is helping people through their grief.
These tragic events i feel like are party the reason for how special the relationship between Louis and his fans is. It’s so vunerlable and emotional and he has said himself feels so codependent. Surely because we build a tight community outside of radio success and difficult times with his releases and label but it also has a bit to do with the fact that people offer and want understand Louis and accept him taking his time through these losses. This vulnerability with the waiting, his subject matters, his personal life that bleeds over into his public and professional life with this song it makes Louis as an artist very special and the relationship between him and the fan base much more intimate and vulnerable and feel more authentic then with any other artist. Of course a good chunck of this credit also just goes out to Louis just having the best personality haha!
I think even if I would not like Louis music at some point I would never stop rooting for him as a human being.
