    I'm just curious how Lianne and Margie became friends? It's a big help when you have locals to tour you around in a new place. Although you must have tried the Pomelo which is another local fruit in Davao that tastes really, really good, and should have gone to a seafood restaurant because Tuna fish is a must try when in Davao.

    Guys, whenever you eat Filipino foods you can do it with bare hands. if there are soups you can sip straight from the bowl. even the halo-halo you can sip the juice straight from the bowl. there is really no wrong way to eat Filipino foods because you can literally eat here with you bare hands if you prefer to. well, assuming you have done washing your hands before. if you have noticed some fast food stores will serve you with flimsy plastic spoons and fork. you can set them aside and use your bare hands instead. ok, enjoy your meals.👍😃

  • @HameSe
    @HameSe Před 2 lety +3

    that's why if I let a first timer to eat a durian, I suggest them to eat a frozen/cold durian, it is less strong and less smelly... or try a durian shake first... its more friendly for a non-frequent durian eater. but you dont need to dip the rice as well, only the chicken into the soysauce.

    • @thebuddymoon
      @thebuddymoon  Před 2 lety

      A frozen Durian or shake, mmmm maybe that we would have liked more. But glad we know how it tastes now 😊

  • @wavemaker2077
    @wavemaker2077 Před 2 lety +1

    Durian is an acquired taste. You will get used to the taste after being exposed to it for some time.
    As for the jeepney, you can always ask the locals on how to go from A to B. I saw a security guard in the building while you were waiting for a jeepney. You could have asked him on what jeepney you should ride to reach SM Lanang. That is the easiest way to reach your destination.

    Durian Season usually starts month of August(if i remembered it right😅).. when the season starts, u could buy Durian for under a dollar per kilo depending on what variant. For someOne who doesnt like the Fruit, you could atleast try the Durian Candy as alternative. And oh! Samal Island is close by. Beaches there is highly recommended. Enjoy exploring Davao & be safe u two!😉🙂

      Aside from the Durian candy, there is also the Durian shake that is pretty good, and readily available in the local restaurants (read: not fastfood) in Davao. The actual fruit is only for the adventurous soul, but rightfully a must try for foreign vloggers to capture the local color, or flavor of the area.

    Hi guys! Tougher taking a public ride in some provinces but most often Davao is a very safe place.
    Funny you wanted to try durian. I would say it's an acquired taste. Some people like it, some people don't. I must confess I do like it. I hope you were warned by your viewers who suggested it. Lol since you tried it, notice how your body heat goes up. It's because it's an aphrodisiac. It's not an urban legend. I've worked so much all over Mindanao region which includes Davao and I know. I know most local guys knows it. Somebody should have given you a heads up. That's one of the reason why there's abundance of durian farm out there but it's more expensive per eatable part compared to the others.
    I hope and pray you guys are enjoying your travel and I feel you do.
    Be safe always.

    Hukay-hukay doesn't mean second hand shoes but rather "anything second hand" but the word itself "hukay hukay" really means "to dig" or make a "pit".. it's what you do when your are looking at stuff - you dig and dig to find what you like.. it can be for clothes, pants etc.

    Visit the Philippine Eagle Conservation Center (not sure that's what it's called). The Philippine eagle is a majestic creature; unfortunately, it is an endangered species. The center is dedicated to breeding the eagle and releasing it in the wild. But you will see some in huge cages, one in each cage so the bird can fly around and prepare for life in freedom.

    “Ukay-ukay” literally means “Dig dig” that means you dig until you find the best item (not only shoes). Ukay ukay are mostly secondhand items. Although, items “on sale” or “clearance sale” are displayed like “ukay ukay”
