Whatever your religious beliefs, this group is top flight. Their precision and artistry are phenomenal.
Indeed.
Lovely version of this beautiful hymn
Wie schön, Michael Pretorias wird sich im Himmel freuen! Danke, dass Sie unsere Lieder so schön singen.
This little flower so fragrant, my heart feels with delight
And with its shining splendor, it drives away the night
True man yet God’s own son, saves us from sin and sorrow
And when deaths hour has come.
Learned this in the Moravian church from a child. Always a favorite because it gives such peace.
My favorite Christmas hymn, absolutely beautiful
One of my most favorite hymns ever. Brings me closer to God each time I hear and sing it. Thank you for this beautiful and moving performance. Peace of God be with you
I have always loved that hymn.i sang this in a choir in 1991.it has a very heavenly tone to it .
I sang this in a massive choir, with singers from each high school in the German state of Hesse, including the American military high schools. I lived in Wiesbaden, near Frankfurt, which was then the headquarters of all US air forces in Europe. USAFE. There were well over a thousand of us. 1973...more than 50 years ago.
Takes me to heaven in my mind, brings tears to my eyes.
Listened to on Christmas Eve, 2023. Merry Christmas everyone..and God Bless.
Sang this with college choir, Still remember all the words!
Lo, how a rose e'er blooming,
From tender stem hath sprung.
Of Jesse's lineage coming,
As men of old have sung;
It came, a flow'ret bright,
Amid the cold of winter,
When half spent was the night
Isaiah 'twas foretold it,
The Rose I have in mind,
With Mary we behold it,
The virgin mother kind;
To show God's love aright,
She bore to men a Savior,
When half spent was the night.
O Flower, whose fragrance tender
With sweetness fills the air,
Dispel with glorious splendour
The darkness everywhere;
True man, yet very God,
From Sin and death now save us,
And share our every load.
😍💖
Thanks for lyrics
Someone asked the dancer what the dance had meant, and the dancer replied, "If I could tell you what it meant, I wouldn't have to dance it."
My favorite Christmas Hymn
This Rose is Gods gift to man to become eternal and have his home with Him the Creator .
Hail Mary full of Grace! The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Perfect pitch this choir is conducted very nicely and you can tell they listen to each other while singing
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
Totally agree
Beautiful. This is my favorite Christmas song.
Absolutely stunning! I'm learning this song on the piano
I love how people love and are emotional about this Marian hymn. It's amazing. She leads us to Jesus
I know exactly what joyfulheart is talking about. I sang in a choir for many years and there was something very special about this particular song. As much as I can analyze all the songs we sang over the years, for whatever reason, this one's stuck out to me.
A glimpse of heaven---superbly done.
Just discovered this music and I cant stop listening to it....Thank you for continuously blessing us
Perhaps the most beautiful Carol of all…
Praise to Jesus!THE ONE AND ONLY Son of God. AMEN!
The most beautiful song and they do a beautiful job of it. Love it......
My favorite Christmas hymn of all time. I grew up listening to Mormon Tab on scratchy old records on Christmas morning, and this is the song that conjures up my favorite memories.
Scratchy? Isn't that the fire crackling in the background. 😉
my mother's favorite song........wish she was here next to me .......
It's a beautiful song, isn't it? I'm so sorry for your loss.
Perfectly sung......so beautiful. Thank you.

Von der grosse Praetorius !
Simply beautiful.Love this carol!
My favorite Xmas song. Thank you so much for this beautiful rendition
In the late 50's, as a young teenager, I went to visit in the home of some family friends, near Christmas time. As soon as I stepped through the front door, I heard a unfamiliar song being performed by a group I had never heard of. The song was Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming, sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir! I was "blown away" and I still am as I listen to the choir (and orchestra today). Now I find the music to be quite comforting and inspiring in my older years. From the 1959's to now, I have spent countless hours listening! And I am most thankful for your music!
How could anyone give this a thumbs down? It is beautiful
I can't even imagine the incredible amount of hours that it takes to achieve a performance of this magnitude. The harmonies are pure perfection. Used to sing this in a barbershop chorus for Christmas shows. Always the best carol of the evening. So peaceful.
Bill, check out "The King's Singers" version in German. It's on CZcams. It will remind you of your barbershop quartet version.
So profoundly beautiful!
Some how this song touches the ❤️
Will always bring a tear to my eyes.
The CD they released this on was packed with amazing songs. Lots I had never heard of before. Noel? I think it was called.
Its so stupendous! So heartrending!
My most favorite Christmas song. 🌠
The ninth of December. I picked a rose. Beautiful.
This is so beautiful
Gives me good bumps everytime....
I love this hymn one of my favorites at church
OUTSTANDING
Doesn't get any better than this.
I remember this song as a youngster sitting around the tree
Great Hymn!
1 Lo, how a Rose e'er blooming
From tender stem hath sprung!
Of Jesse's lineage coming
As men of old have sung.
It came, a flower bright,
Amid the cold of winter
When half-gone was the night.
2 Isaiah 'twas foretold it,
The Rose I have in mind:
With Mary we behold it,
The virgin mother kind.
To show God's love aright
She bore to men a Savior
When half-gone was the night.
3 This Flower, whose fragrance tender
With sweetness fills the air,
Dispels with glorious splendor
The darkness everywhere.
True man, yet very God,
From sin and death He saves us
And lightens every load
My favourite Christmas Carol We sang it in Afrikaans and were taught by a nun
I wish this was not considered a Christmas hymn, but rather an incarnation hymn. We can delight in the incarnation every week at church.
This became a Christmas hymn and it’s restricted to December. It’s a real shame.
Perfect! Merry Christmas 🌹🎄
Beautiful Lutheran hymn.
Being sung by a Latter Day Saint choir.
Absolutely beautiful!!
Sublime and gorgeous!🎵
Jednom je usred snega
Procvao ruzin cvet
I do nas stize glas
O onoj divnoj noci
Kad procva ruzin cvet
Why don't we hear this song so much anymore???
These mormons can harmonize!!
Jason Clark conducted the shorewood high school choir. The chamber choir performed this song live several times a Capella. Memories.
Melissa Isaac Angie Zach Joseph Sam and it went on
Beautiful!!!
Are these upload excerpts from a full program? If so, where can I find the full program?
It puzzles me why JS Bach didn’t use this tune in any of his many cantatas (as far as I know he didn’t use it), being a popular tune during his lifetime. Needless to say, this is a superb rendition by the Tabernacle Choir.
This is pretty 🎉🎉🎉❤
Whose arrangement is this? Especially for the 2nd verse? Did you just use the Praetorius with the sops on the tenor part and vice versa for that verse? It's very nice!
My guess is that Mack Wilberg did the arrangement--he often does the arrangements for the Tabernacle Choir.
God is there
Victor Delgado which ones god
Jesus is Lord!!
this german song is written 1599!
What am I doing here in February?
Why does it fade out and cut off before the end?! It feels unfinished.
Their Altos dont sing out...😥
Alto's in this song are support. They should not be too loud. This song MUST be a blend of all eight parts.
A wonderful German classic. They should sing it in German 🤪
Why did they remove the word "Mormon"?
I’m At the old part of CZcams
Why couldn't they sing it the way it was written? That carol has FIVE verses.
It was written in Germany 1599 with two verses 🤔
Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen
