You can't beat the Righteous Brothers. Their solos and the way they blend their voices together is amazing. Pure raw talent. This is the type of music they started with before their 1st hit "Little Latin Lupe Lu", "Unchained Melody", "You Lost That Loving Feeling" & "Soul and Inspiration". They got to sing different songs on the TV show Shindig where they were regulars from 1964-66. Lots of black & white videos from that teen oriented show. "Summertime" on there was a solo by the counter tenor Bobby Hatfield you'll want to check out. There's a video from Ed Sullivan TV show where they sang live "You'll Never Walk Alone" you should give a listen to also.

Listen and watch the Righteous Brothers sing "What'd I Say" on the Andy Williams Show. Also do You've Lost That Loving Feeling " or "Soul and Inspiration" or even You'll Never Walk Alone". Make sure you always type in the word live so you can see their performances. Love Me Some Righteous Brothers 🥰

That riff that sounds SO familiar to you is da BLUES, man! It’s an OLD rhythm (1920s and earlier even), but these guys do it justice! Nice to see younger people enjoying MY music even though I’m a lily white guy born in 1961! Great, HONEST reaction! Keep expanding what you react to cuz I’m gonna subscribe!

OK - now you’ve heard the ‘brothers’ solo, do yourself a favour and catch their duets… it’s hard to believe two such disparate voices can blend so perfectly. ‘Just Once in My Life’, ‘You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feeling’. ‘Soul and Inspiration’ are good ones. They started out with hard rock n roll though … ‘My Babe’, ‘Little Latin Lupe Lu’ were their own compositions and ‘Justine!’ Was another good one. You need the studio version of ‘Justine’ because the live version was ‘sanitized’ for TV. czcams.com/video/N6O-fFgl5vE/video.html

Go a little further back for the history of this song. The righteous Brothers did well covering it but the original guitar riff and the original recording was released in the 50s by Muddy Waters. He's a blues legend. It was also covered in 1960 by another legend, Etta James.
By the way, Pepsi used the Etta James version for one of their commercial from the 1990s

I wouldn't put them in cowboy. I would say 1940's Harlem. We're you thinking Jellyroll? Jellyroll blues is a great track, especially if you find a live jam recording.

I’m requesting Nina Simone’s “Mississippi, Goddam”. “Mississippi Goddam”, the iconic protest song, encapsulates the profound turmoil of 1963: the murder of Medgar Evers in Mississippi, the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Alabama, and the attacks by vicious dogs against the non-violent freedom fighters-throughout the South.
So sad that in 2024, its message is STILL falling on deaf ears!

NO BS auto-tunes like todays artists use.
