The fact his ribbon journey started with being purified by Celebi is fitting considering the sheer amount of time travelling/timeline hopping shenanigans this Pokemon ended up going through.
Not to mention dimensional hopping, since canonicaly RSE and ORAS take place in diferent "multiverse".

It being named Toast also has some poetry to it; Scizor's crippling weakness is its notorious 4x weakness to fire. Being named Toast instead of, say, Bread, indicates that it has faced the flame and not only survived it but was made even better!

@@abaddonarts1129 You honestly should. Back when I was around 7, my brother gave me his old ds, and I decided to get pokemon Black 2. I found out about the zorua gift pokemon, so my brother transferred his celebi so I could get it. I was instantly attached. I had hundreds of hours in the game, enjoying my time, and battling with my partner pokemon, Zoroark. About a year later I lost the ds, and I cried for days. Last year I found it, and I cried tears of joy and nostalgia when I booted up Black 2 and saw my Zoroark. It was a tricky process, but I was able to store it in Pokemon Home, where he will forever stay so I will never lose him again.
understandable. I have Mojave the Flygon, and with the SwSh gate keeping it scares me if Flygon is popular enough to make it to all games like a Pikachu would.

Toast the Scizor is like the ultimate Isekai protagnonist. He's constantly being transported from world to world, timeline to timeline, and trainer to trainer, and every single time he becomes one of the most decorated and accomplished Pokémon wherever he ends up. He probably has no clue why this fate has been thrust upon him, or when his world will be replaced once more.

I don’t know why, but this story feels so emotional to me.
A scizor corrupted with darkness like any other shadow Pokemon, was purified and transferred to countless trainers. All of them making sure Toast was given truckloads of attention, overcoming the hardest challenges. Beating the champions of regions. And being the best, Scizor, ever. With all of his achievements, he now rests with the sweet and comforting memories of all his trainers and all his achievements, until he embarks on another great journey...for ribbons.
It’s just..so odd how people can be attached to pixels on a screen. Including me.
Toast shall be remembered in all of our hearts as the Collector of many ribbons.
When that shiny scizor first saw you in colosseum, it could've never imagined the journey it would experience with you as its new master. Through space and time toast has lived a life of adventure and achievement for years to come!

I love how one shiny scizor was purified by a single person, who went on to transport it through space and time just to maximise its potential achievements
This is a Scizor that got to experience everything.
Its poor heart once forcefully filled with malice and hatred, Scizor not only got to overcome it, but became the best it could be through its journey.
Thrust from region to region, trainer to trainer, participating in battles, pageants, performances and championships.
Defeating legendary trainers, showing off its strength and style, pushing past its limits with Mega Evolution and Z-Moves.
For a Pokémon, that is the best any could ask for.
It might be strange to humanize Pokémon as much as I do- give them emotion, the capacity to understand the world-yet it’s all in my head.
But I find this Scizor’s ongoing journey an endearing one, for sure.
Even though it’s just data on a screen, there’s a sort of beauty from the bonds we form with our Pokémon. It’s kind of silly.
Well, in the Anime, pokemon clearly do have emotion and even understand human language (meowth even learned to speak it!) so i dont think humanizing them is strange at all :)

It only makes sense we humanize them- it’s part of how people understand the world. Sometimes we apologize to inanimate things, we take care of our belongings like cars, houses and keepsakes like they, as objects, can appreciate it, we empathize with things that we’re not even sure function like us, like plants and wildlife.
I guess it’s just part of the human journey.

THIS is why the national dex issue is so big. Every Pokemon is someone's favorite, and separating them from someone is almost like destroying a precious trinket or a memento of the past.
I gotta say I think the most badass part about all of this, is you got Toast through a legit way from a gamecube card thing I've never even heard of. Outstanding.
I have my card reader to this day and oooof.
Ash has Pikachu, whom he brings to every region and does every thing, and Tony has Toast, his very own partner Pokémon whom he showed so much love when before it felt none.
I wish Scizor kept its golden color vs the lime green. I also love how much you used to be able to do to show your love for Pokemon in the past. I hope this National DeX cut doesn't cause too much trouble in the future

Ribbons actually have a bigger role in Scarlet and Violet. You can now select a ribbon and the Pokemon will have a title after their nickname. For example, if you select one of the ribbons for becoming the champion of a certain region (lets use Galar for this example), the game will say "(Pokemon's nickname) the Galar Champion" or something along those lines whenever you send the Pokemon out.
Yup, that was present in Galar as well! :)
A shame SV also makes this type of challenge effectively almost impossible without making exceptions or a lot of luck because of the surprise trade ribbon.
In theory it's possible, I've been traded back my own surprise trade pokemon before, but it would take an absolutely absurd amount of luck to have this happen AND either have it happen many times in a row, or just happen to win the ribbon the first time by chance.

@@joshmays2983 you can surprise trade over local communication, theoretically you can just get another switch with another copy of the game, or have a friend come
Imagine you're a bug-type trainer on a tree-lined route somewhere in Gen X, fresh out of the tall grass with your first set of Pokemon. You challenge another trainer you see nearby, and of course, as per tradition, they accept.
And then their only Pokemon, a Shiny Shadow Scizor (you don't know what 'shiny shadow' even means) emerges. He's introduced as "Toast the 100x Victorious", which implies most people know of his presence, despite this being your first encounter with such a creature. He's also wearing more medals than a five-star general and is dozens of levels above you.
...I don't know if I'd react with worry or amazement.
this was incredible. Scizor ended up being a better pick than togepi too for those mega evolution animations during the contests, fantastic job man
Togekiss is incredible for both the Gen 4 battle tower, Gen 6 Battle Maison, Gen 7 Battle Tree and Gen 8 Battle tower as well as Swsh Online play. Serene Grace air slash is just *chef's kiss*
Also the fact that Scizor ended up being in Scarlet and Violet, while Togepi did not. (It could still get added back in to the Indigo Disk when it releases, but as of now, no sign of Togepi in SV)
Thinking about how there's definitely at least one kid out there who has absolutely raised a pokemon from Gen 3 to now, and has every ribbon they could possibly have gotten, and you know they LOVE that pokemon.

Damn what a journey. That scizor is a huge flex to all pokemon nerds lol.
I did this with my Charizard starting in 2016. I wanted to take it with me on my team throughout each game and collect all the ribbons as I went through each game, but because of this, he became overleveled and couldn't do the level 50 battle tower ribbon. I should've stopped then, but I decided to go forward with it because I figured since the battle ribbons are all consolidated anyway it wouldn't matter. It took me 4 years to go through up to sword and shield, largely because my copy of colosseum was scratched and gave me an error that turned the game off at the beginning of battles every like 15 minutes, and doing the story and mt. Battle with that was absolute hell (on top of that I had to do it twice because I had accidentally swapped a party member which nullifies the ribbon, so I really did 200 battles in mt. Battle having to start over from checkpoints over and over because of the scratched game. Then I got terrible contest stats in gen 3 which made the gen 4 master rank contests almost impossible, it took me a year to get lucky enough rng even with playing perfectly to get all of the contest ribbons.
I recently tried to get my zard certified with the r/PokemonRibbons community as an official ribbon master, but because I didn't have the gen 3 level 50 ribbon I was denied. I went through all of that hell for nothing. Please don't let your pokemon get overleveled in gen 3
Man, this just reminds me of my own Ribbon Master, Ophelia, a Vulpix from XD. A long, half-procrastinated journey from mid 2018 to late 2021, a journey that had me master solo pokeblock making to nearly cap her contest stats, learning teambuilding, and finally conquering the battle towers that I largely ignored as too difficult as a kid. Also, where the biggest portion of time was spent waiting for opportunities to shoot for the gen 4 wifi ribbon, swiftly followed by speedrunning 6/7's battle tree in two weeks and then grinding out Master Ball rank online in Sword for the better part of December. It was a long and fun journey, and I can't wait to see what Paldea has to offer for her; I hope Vulpix is afforded the same protection as Eevee and Pikachu when it comes to new generations!
I'd even go as far as to say the journey did more than to cement Vulpix as one of my favorites; I picked it on a whim since I really just wanted to DO the challenge, and keeping it as a Vulpix the whole time was just something I ended up doing, even though at the time, I adored Ninetales. It also completely flipped some of my favorite pokemon; I'd rarely given Jolteon the time of day, for instance, but after using one extensively in the HGSS battle towers, I came to adore the lil' guy and he's been one of my favorites ever since. This challenge can be really transformative to your pokemon views!

Massive kudos to you on going through with the pain in the backside that is the World Ability Ribbon, despite it being considered one that isn't required by many players who have done, or going to do the Ribbon Master Challenge.
Probably why players say it isn't required is that it TECHNICALLY isn't available to get anymore.

I would love to hear some kind of backstory for toast, being passed down through generations of a family or something. I can also imagine him just holding a guilded box filled with his medals and other memories (movie posters, photos of all his trainers, eg.) And just smiling

I was never one to chase ribbons but the titles Pokemon have in battles is such a nice layer of distinction. I just wanted to see if Legends Arceus had any Ribbons worth going for. This was a treat to watch and I can only applaud your dedication for going after something incredibly specific and tedious. Shiny Hunting a Shadow Pokemon no less, you deserve all the subs/likes coming your way my friend.
I was disappointed pla didn't add any ribbons. I was hoping for an ancient ribbon or something like that for beating arceus, especially if they keep the titles one of the better features from swsh
@@joshyotoast there's an internal ribbon that counts as a ribbon but has no appearance. you get it by taking a picture with your pokemon in jubilife. the reason we know it counts as a ribbon is because the ribbon syndicate in bdsp only allows parties with 10+ ribbons in, and someone tested it with 9 ribbons + the legends arceus ribbon, and were able to get in. it might make an appearance in a later game, but we don't know if it will ever be obtainable in the near future outside of legends arceus.

the last part of HGSS and BW/B2W2 part of this video made me feel really sentimental even though it wasn't really a part of the ribbon collecting lol. there's so much you can do and go through with your pkmn growing up with these games and not even think twice about
As someone who loves Scizor and collecting things, but sucks too much at strategy to make it through any post game battle facility, this was really sweet! The effort you put in is really admirable!
Beyond the insane persevarance & skill for completing a challenge like this, I have to appreciate the anime-worthy story. Toast, a truly unique specimen, was purified from being a Shadow Pokémon, coming to his senses in the care of a trainer who loves him dearly. Through time and space, they found eachother again & again, honing their skills to become the absolute best in both battling and contests across all the regions, and taking the time to stop & smell the roses and grow a truly unbreakable bond along the way.
Magical.
Toast deserves to be mentioned in Pokémon stories.
Like a children's book or an anime episode of Pokémon Masters.
It's an ongoing story that will be remembered.
As seen in some of the Scarlet & Violet trailers, Syther is present, which can only mean Scizor will be in the game, which is awesome because you can give Toast some more ribbons, and I can catch my favorite Pokemon :)

Honestly, this is a wholesome story if you think about it. A Scizor, who was led astray, becomes purified by its new trainer who helps it to redeem itself, and the two go on adventures for years to come, collecting mementos of each. The footprint ribbon even shows how much the Scizor loves its trainer for helping turn its life around. It’s a sweet story.
Loving these videos and congrats to you and Ｔｏａｓｔ on becoming ribbon masters, and been waiting for this since seeing snippets of Ｔｏａｓｔ in your other videos.
I've been shiny hunting shadow Swablu on and off for a couple years now for this challenge, and this video is good motivator to get back into that :)

Your Scizor may end up becoming a Teeny once you bring it to SV lol. Before the HOME update, any Pokemon that went into PLA got its size scale set to 0, so bringing it over to SV and taking it to the size checker will give him the Teeny Mark. This happened to my shiny Espeon from Crystal, and shiny Vaporeon from Gen 4.
3rd time I've watched this as background audio and I still can't believe Toasts build. He's legendary. Built different. The hardware gated, Japanese, Shiny, EV trained, Ribbon Master. And he slaughters on the Battlefield. Beautiful. Truly a work of art.
Watching until the end made me sad af! 😢 It's as if I was watching a whole life story featuring 1 pokemon going through countless trainers & journey's & along the way made great memories and freinds!

Not only is this impressive, but it’s also just wholesome. Like you did all of this. With your buddy. And you had fun. You did things for no reason because you wanted Scizor to have a shiny crown or a different animation when they entered battle. Like idk this just feels like the spirit of Pokémon and I think that that might be the thing I respect most out of this video.

You are a saint for going through all the Gen 4 battle ribbons. I eventually got tired of the sloooowness of the battles & hacks in the online servers & moved on to Gen 6 w/ my Salamence. I appreciated how you also got your Twinkling Star ribbon from a tie for 1st. That contest was brutal for me! The ribbon challenge is incredibly rewarding & it’s really cool to think of how your ‘mon has traveled across space & time to all the regions. My Shadow Salamence from XD is one of my most prized possessions haha.
Really enjoyed the humor/commentary & taking us through this whole journey (even My Pokémon Ranch!). Big congrats! Hopefully Scizor is in the next 20yrs of Pokémon games!

I've been doing this same thing with my Gallade since Pokemon Emerald. He's got many ribbons, but not as much as your Scizor (It's mainly just the contest ribbons he's missing). Can't wait to see what new ribbons our slashing friends will receive in Scarlet and Violet!
Good choice in 'mon. My gallade is stuck in the battle maison. I lost to the 49th trainer's 3rd pokemon.
really cool to choose gallade for this, even if its an evolution of a gen 3 mon, having gen 3 ribbons on a gen 4 pokemon is neat.

@HazeEmry Captured / hatched as a Ralts / Captured or stopped evolution progress at 2nd stage Kirlia is a possibility. So long as it does not progress to Gardevoir, a Generation 3 Ralts / Kirlia imported into Generation 4 or further can then have a Dawn Stone used on it to become a Gallade.
I'm sure we'll see the Master Rank Ribbon as the official ribbon of ranked battles in all future games, so don't give up hope for the other Pokemon that might miss out on it because they weren't in Galar. That said, I wish Game Freak would include some little area in future games (or even some kind of battle mobile game connected to Home) where you can battle either battle the Champion of every region or an equally powerful representative so you can pick up those missing regional champion ribbons.

You could have done this with any Shadow Pokémon in the Galar and Hisui Dexes, but you got an e-Reader, e-cards from Japan, and a Japanese Pokémon Colosseum copy to get a shiny Scizor. And you traded it to LeafGreen to get a ribbon you could have gotten in Hoenn just to give your first Pokémon game some recognition. Wow.
I am so proud of this green boy! I'd probably have chosen Togepi myself, since I think Togepi is in all the dexes (I know it's in Galar!) Just because, I like the Togepi line! It would be fun to see a Togekiss with all the ribbons. Unfortunately I don't have all of the games so I can't do all of them myself

I miss times when shiny scizor were golden yellow and not weird green
I didn't know golden shiny Scizor was thing, but now I wish Pokemon would have let Scizor keep that colour, rather than changing it to lime green

This is actually quite admirable! Ribbons are such a fun and cool mechanic in Pokemon that I hardly bother with anymore, but younger me certainly had a love for them for a little while. I also didn't even know about the best friends ribbon in XY, and I played Ami quite a lot! This was a fun journey, minus the part where Emmet frowned of course!

No idea why, but it brings a tear to my eye to see Toast’s journey… if I didn’t get so attached to each of my main team of Pokémon being in their original games, maybe I’d do that as well…

I think it’s poetic and beautiful everything this Scizor has done. In each generation, it made a friend and accomplished so much. Toast is definitely content with his accomplishments.

This is amazing. Even after playing pokemon for years, I didnt know you could do this much and I didnt know all these were available. If Scizor were sentient, he'd be very happy for sure. A legit pokemon journey without death as a stake, aka nuzlockes. Ive never seen a ribbon challenge so this is a welcoming sight. Keep up!

I love this. This was an incredible adventure, from start to finish. On some level pokemon has always been about the individual stories, be it a few unexpected events in a single battle, or a nuzlocke run, or a truly grand capital-A Adventure such as this. This sort of thing is the real soul of pokemon, and I'd put money down that the developers at Game Freak would be overjoyed to learn of Toast the Scizor.
The fact that the Scizor had to start out as a Shadow Pokémon to begin with made his journey so much sweeter "lore"-wise.
Even though his Colosseum origins were for logistical purposes, and even though the lore of Shadow Pokémon has never seen a peep since Colo and XD, it still tells a beautiful story of Toast having his heart corrupted and then being rescued by the player, which from then went on to experience the fullest life he could ever have as a Pokémon, far more than most around him could say.
I'm mostly just easily sentimental in general but I love these all ribbon videos, especially this one which goes above and beyond to get all the bonuses. It feels so nice to watch a pokemon go from a game several consoles earlier all the way to the new one with all kinds of ribbons and trinkets, just the most loved pokemon out there.
I thought this'd be a fun little video about how to theoretically get as many ribbons as possible on a single pokemon. I didn't expect you to ACTUALLY do it. WOW!
I was already shiny hunting Noctowl in Colosseum because I just think having a shiny from there would be neat, but after watching this I'll definitely go after all the ribbons with it
Honestly I love the concept of transferring a Pokémon through every game to the most recent entries. It's such a nice idea the little digital friends you found in a game you played more than 10 years ago can be brought back from seemingly outdated hardware to stand by your side all these years later

A Pokemon that has existed since ancient History (Legends Arceus) and has fought and won the Champion title in every region, and has proved it's strength by fighting Primordial forces of the world for sport.

With Scizor available in Scarlet / Violet, it can obtain the Paldean Champion Ribbon, and the Best Friends Mark (which is obtained randomly by walking along with the Let's Go function).

Toast has went through so many trainers. the trainer didn't pick toast. toast picked the trainer. every trainer that had toast. even tho it was temporary. treated toast with respect. it was beautifull to see toast cooperate with diffrent trainers across the world
