Have you given up if you have a Corsa rather than a fiesta? Asking for a mate. The equivalent spec fiesta was also outside his budget my mate says.
@@liamfergie Yes. Fiesta is the best small car on the market, the corsa is one of the worst. Imo of course, but I suspect most of you would agree with me.

Stefan Petrov The corsa E is not a bad car. And it’s very affordable in comparison to Ford and VW.
felt absolutely broken when he chose the TT instead of the MX-5, I've never felt betrayal like this before
considering how he much he despised previous mx-5s, this was honestly surprising

and he didn't cover SUV's because no matter what car maker you buy from, it looks like you've just given up.
Best crossover is the Macan best full sized SUV is the XC90. I wouldnt say either of those looks like you have given up, you just need to have something else beside it in the garage, that's all.

Actually to be perfectly honest Audi and mx5 don't belong to the same category and even if they did .... The pricetags would say otherwise .... Both are amazing ! But not fair to the Miata ....

Never ever forget how beautiful the most recent Elise is. That design is perfect. And the convertible is great because I can fit in it, or on it, whichever you want to call it.
Lotus is 90% as much fun as the Caterham but with none of the hassle.
Hassle?
shiftgood roof, air con, stereo. Rain exists and heat too.
The Lotus Elise is usable daily all year round though. In know, because I do it lol. It's actually quite comfortable (as long as you spec the standard Bilstein coilovers and not Nitrons!)

My head says Elise, but something deep down screams Morgan..! I don’t know. But I really really like any Lotus!! (The true Alternative to the Alpine A110..!)
MX5 (perfect weekend car), Superb (daily all purpose, most space, most practical, probably won't break and cheaper to fix if it does) and the money saved from avoiding the TT and Volvo would get me an Atom and many track days to enjoy repeatedly destroying Caterham lap times...
Would no longer need a hothatch (maybe make the Superb a 280 tsi Sport line and remap it to 380 bhp to tick that box, fuel bills would mean less track days though so probs make it a comfy diesel or wait for the 2020 phev instead)
@Noise Control Many ways to skin a cat! There's no right or wrong really, just preference and opinion.
Type R is great for the track of course but styling too loud for most as a daily. Some folks love that though and Caterham's are great for the road and not exactly terrible for the track so it just depends on personal preference.
I'd personally be happy with a Caterham but happier with an Atom and tbh would look at either as a ''toy''.
Mx5 is the best car there imo. In terms of value for money and fun factor
I normally agree with Harris with everything he says, but never in a million years would I pick a TT over an Mx-5 and how is it even possible an i30n is a more boring car than a golf? I would rather the type r/a35/i30n over the golf any day of the week, it's the weakest there by fa and according to like 95% of reviews the most boring to drive.
He just talk mainstream rubbish to be liked. Possibly because this is heavily scripted. But doesn't matter he's just nonsense without being funny at all.

@jon doe He knows his shit when it comes to cars. I just think he's completely wrong here (apart from the Volvo). And from the reviews I've gathered, plenty of other journalists would disagree with him here too.
He always picks vw golf. Everybody talked all good things about i30n. GTI is i would say generic hothatch, nothing extra special, and it's not bad at all.
whaha chris.. i30N is waaaay more exciting than a GTI.

The Lotus Elise for sure over the Caterham, you don’t have to wear a crash helmet or arm straps.
I would love a LONGER VERSION of this: maybe 6-7 minutes.

Well, the V90 T8 does the 0-100 in 5 seconds so it’s a quick car just to give an example.
5 seconds? My Model S which is 5 years old does 60 in under 4 seconds.
Why do people carry on buying crap fossil cars which are noisy, smelly and cost a fortune to run?
nowtleft2 Is your Tesla as practical as this Volvo ? Does that Volvo cost 90k+ euros ? I am really optimistic about electric cars but Tesla isn’t the answer in any way, sweetie.
+ the T8 is a Plug-in Hybrid, and some people are not convinced about full electric. So the T8 acts as a more sporty trim AND a sort of « bridge » from fossil to electric. Maybe the person buying that V90 will see at which extent the full electric mode is easier and more economical and will maybe do the jump to electric. Stop swearing only by Tesla. Volvo are doing way much more effort in terms of électrifications, as their PHEVs and BEV’s components are recycled and don’t come from infantile workforce and underpaid one.
They aren’t the answer in any way. I like electric cars but Tesla have no soul nor passion.
Infantile Pillock well it seats 5, holds tons including my dogs, costs £38k, has no tax or servicing and costs about £8 for 200 miles of driving.
Answer is yes, way better than a Vulva!

I've spent time in an i30N and it's a great car. Take it for a thrash in N mode along a windy road and it's a riot.

In one of his really old videos he gave it a decent assessment saying that he didn't see it as a true sports car, but more a roadster which is a fair point imo

I've been a fan of chris harris since the days of writing in autocar magazine. And that is not this century. Utterly brilliant. Says what he thinks, regardless of the manufacturer.

Agree, we need more journalists like that who don't praise everything all of the time. But Clarkson was like that also which is what made him so brilliant. Also, Plato on fifth gear tells it how it is, albeit slightly biased
