@Mr.BigBoss7 $65k in the UK surprisingly less than a E63 haha. The 2018 face lifts have already dropped to $120k already and that's for a nice spec.

S-Class coupés are timeless machines, which just get better with age. Spend hours looking at my CL 55 Kompressor, especially that back window. And what an engine...
@Nicholas Fouch Yes, you're right. Most people mistake an S-Class with a C-Class, which is the coolest thing in the world, if you are understated :)
i have a C140 s coupe and this car gets even better with the years compared to the new plastic boxes , but every S coupe is the gem in the crown of mercedes since the beggining !
CL 55 is a great car, timeless
The back window of those is just art.
After driving this car you would probably be pissed off to drive anything else.

I can’t disclose how many times I’ve watched this or how many months in between each view but I will say this...
The Mercedes S Class Coupe is by far the most insanely luxurious coupe with four legitimate seats in production. If you haven’t ridden in one you simply do not understand the feeling of seamlessly arriving at your destination but loving every bit of the ride, even if you’re in the back seat.
Just pure motor excellence.
Since this S coupe came out, everyone who drove it said it was the best car ever!
Been my dream car since it came out. Glad to see it finally get some appreciation. Good job Chris.

I actually bought one of these in 2017 after a long long while of deciding which car I was going to get. I struggled between the s550 and the s63 but eventually decided on the 63. I've got to say the car is just phenomenal, it's a blast to drive and it is just so incredibly comfortable. Overall I would highly recommend this car to anyone who was looking at a mercedes coupe as I personally think that it is far better than any of the other coupes mercedes offers.
Maddening that this was only 10 Minutes. i could have watched a 2 hour video whit Chris. Incredible stuff!

And yeah, this review aside, there are cars, and there is Mercedes
And as wonderful as this is, this is just the pre-facelift model. The facelifted version is even nicer with that characterful 4.0l engine, interior tech updates, OLED taillights, aggressive front design, etc...
I actually like the 5.5 liter V8 better personal pref. ofc. - but the tech and OLED lights in the new car is amazing

This is what Top Gear should be, in my mind. After a while, Grand Tour comedy nonsense just get's on your nerves. This is just pure and simple and I just love it - great videos about amazing cars and their details and Chris is a man to do it. Great work!
At last!!! Exsacly what i told everyone about this car! Mercedes did a masterpiece with this one and it went so qiet that i have the feeling that nobody heard about it nothing! This car is just the pinnicle of Mercedes in my opinion and ive never ever wanted a car so badly like i do this one. Even the GTR when it first came out in 2008 ive never been so enthusiastic about it like im about the S coupe.
And theres more about this car besides the info in the video. This car is a tecnological step forward, it will never ever let you crash it. It will never let someone crash into you aswell. This car so well built so well engeneered its just a masterpiece you need to drive one for long term to understand what the hell it capeble of. I truly love this car. Never happend to me in my life that i fell in love so badly with a car.

I got to drive it as part of my job , thing is brilliant -all the power in the world when you need it while being ultra comfortable and luxurious inside , very underrated!

@@mnoovurvi I was a bellman at a hotel and as part of it I also parked guests cars , so this guy drank too much at the bar and asked me to drive him home in his own car , (drive was 10 minutes at best and he gave a ludicrous amount of money for it hehe) and I enjoyed every moment , you can't believe what you're driving honestly
@@yahel092100 A spaceship. I still remember when I got in S class for the first time and it set off. Like it was floating, that suspension is amazing, I do not udnerstand why anyone would even consider mercedes with regular suspension.

Love how Mercedes stick to their roots , the centre storage area henges , the map lights under the centre mirror , the sensors piece at the back of the rear seats roof etc all could be found in older models like my CLS55 ..
Love your passion for comfort, quality and engineering. It seems many of the large manufactures seem to have forgotten some of the basics!

Just looked up whether TG has made a review of this. Finally they have. The car really is a masterpiece. I have owned and driven one for 3 years. All that Chris said and then some. Night vision, for one, is great. I had never seen one before S63. If you drive in a dark foggy road and its infrared sees humans/animals on the roadside, it switches on the night vision on the dashboard and flashes it red to let you know. The suspension is ridiculously good. As is the traction control. I haven’t had a single warranty issue or anything worth visiting the service except for regulars.
Since it really is quite an old car already, I genuinely tried to upgrade. Tried 2019 Ferrari GTC4 Lusso, Panameras, R8, etc. They all felt like significant downgrades. And not just on the comfort. On wet tarmac, this still beats 700 hp Ferrari GTC4 V12 with traction, stability. Unless you’re a professional pilot, it is hard to find a car that you’d have the balls to drive faster without taking too much risk. Add the comfort & the looks, there is no car available that would beat this. 6 years after it came out.
I love watching him drive. So smooth.

It isn't even about top gear anymore, Chris just really has an unquestionable passion and love for cars and it's advancement that so many of us can relate to and feel hopeful about the future of cars, driving and motorsport entertainment.

I've got a 2009 cl63 amg and it is amazing! And again, no one really knows what it is or what it's capable of but I kinda like that.
The s63 amg coupe is the fastest car I've ever driven, it gave me tunnel vision on acceleration
Nice to see this concept of show beeing back! Chris Harris on cars is, for me, the sweetest to watch! His well fashinoed way to formulate his opinions about cars and styling is just lovely and his driving skills are beyond good. That makes it so much fun to watch. Did I miss something?
Also I don't see the point in comparing it to other shows. This stands for itselfe.

Great review. The Benz CL’s have always been underrated and overlooked, which is actually a positive to me. Let’s hope people don’t see this and rush out to buy one, that way I can own this dream car when depreciation kicks.

The S63 Coupe is my dream car. Just like it's predecessor, the CL65 was.
The predecessor to the S63 Coupe is the CL63. And the successor to the CL65 is the S65 coupe (sadly not being build anymore)
