BRILLIANT!! I'm going to use that for sure
A crossover collaboration between you two would be LEGENDARY!
@@freaketchic I'm up for that!!
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures oooooOOOOOH! I feel like it will just me cringely fangirling the whole time, but I'd be up for it. Unfortunately, we're about to move again in a few weeks so I'll be out of production for awhile. But in the mean time if you've got any ideas for something you'd like to do, I'd be very honored to collaborate.
@@freaketchic Juan is in on a whole 'nutha level, but I'd love to. I'm admittedly too much of a hermit to have any ideas for a fun collaboration, but if you have any, I'd be happy to hear them.
@@DarcyBonoCreations I'm not a content creator, so I'm not too sure on how a collab video would look. Beyond the painting aspect, I think you both have a similar humor and sassiness that I'd love to see shine through.
the subtle jungle beat in the background was a nice touch!
I'm glad you appreciate it, it took me way too long to find jungle-esque music that wasn't a bonkers amount of drumming or flutes 😄
Thanks for teaching me where to get the likes of Lichen, as I to have overgrown vegetation climbing up old ruins and this idea could help immensly achieve what so far I have lacked.
As a devout follower of the Great Plan and black tea drinker, this video is very much appreciated! :D
The final stage with powder is awesome. Thanks a lot !
OMG ! I'm about to start my Catachan army. Tkx for this video.
Thank you for starting a Catachan army! They deserve more love!
Jungle stone is a blast. Thanks for sharing this technique :D
Great video! I love the shout out to Stahly's paint swatches!
Simple, easy to follow and well produced. I like it.
Very cool. Lots of good ideas here. My Kill Team squads have a jungle base theme and I am about to start a WW2 Pacific army for Japanese and US Marines so will definitely be trying some of these.
Well, you've given me my Sylvaneth basing color scheme. Thank you!!
Thank you, this was perfect. The fact that the same the same terrain and plants that I wanted to do in a jungle style are used in this tutorial make it even better
I love this, ty! Looks so much more time-efficient than what I was planning for the ground cover underneath derelict piping and grating in some ruined Kashyyyk-like research base bases
Looks deadly man. Good Job. Perfect timing too since I'm literally painting up a force of lizardmen right now.
Fantastic looking bases. Certainly for food for thought, though I will say that as a Brit, I’m aghast at the waste of tea. 😂
Yet another great tutorial that's at the same time easy enough for non pro's like me but with near pro-looking results. Just awesome, thanks! I will be using these on my Lustria themed TOW figures for sure.
Thank you! And sounds awesome. You doing Lizardmen or humans stranded in Lustria?
@@DarcyBonoCreations well my son is doing the Lizardmen, so I am going to do some Estalians stranded in the jungle. Mainly using old Dogs of War miniatures and regular Empire embellished with 3rd party conversion bitz.
The kroak green is such a good mention. And I've never wanted to use pigment powders until seeing your lichen results - great stuff
Thanks so much! Your bases look fantastic!
Hey, thank you for posting this! Most of the companies you mentioned I already purchase products from, but your technique is simpler and more effective than what I was attempting to do
I really love this video! It gives me so many ideas and techniques. Thank you for the links to purchase supplies.
I am way too lazy to do this to an army of tyranids but I will definitely come back to this for a jungle base display model. Great stuff!
Love it! This was a great video!
Love the effect of the tea, great way to accomplish that thick forest floor.
Great video on basing Darcy…especially the round brushes….like the one that hides the baconator in all of us 😂😂😂
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! And yes that thing is a god-send! Makes terrain a breeze and takes your face from Donald Trump to Michelle Pfeiffer in seconds 😆.
Thankyou, especially the Jungle stone was Fantastic.
This was absolutely fantastic. Thanks very much.
Great video ! I will use it for sure 👍🏻
I subscribed to your channel as I just discovered you today. My favorite is the use of Lichen Weathering Powders which I was NOT tracking until today. Thanks for sharing these awesome ideas
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the sub :)
Nice, thanks Darcy
Nice one. I had this on and mentioned how I’d like to try some makeup brushes. My wife said “Target has some nice cheap ones, like that elf brand.” Not two seconds later you started talking about your e.l.f. brush 😂
Thanks for this - I have a lot of swamp stuff coming up and this helps a lot!
Hey glad ya like! I actually have a video on swamp basing if you're interested. It's a little older but should give few ideas: czcams.com/video/jw2eX2WaQ9k/video.html
Thanks for tutorial 👍
Thanks for an amazing vid 🙏💪😃
Great work!!!
love it
Wha-?!
First you dump the tea in the sea now you're basing with it?!
Heresy, heresy!
Nah, Looks amazing!
It's considered treason in the US to use it for any other purpose...unless you add a dump truck load of sugar and ice in it like we do in the south. But seriously I was really hoping somebody would make a Boston Tea Party joke 😆. Thank you!
@@DarcyBonoCreations if you ever need someone to trot out a tired, obvious joke, I'm your man.
👍
Yesss.
Lots of great ideas in this video that I want to try, particularly with the 3 unpainted boxes of Warcry terrain I've got. For the bases, do you find you prefer the tea leaves or the painted texture? Also, for plants, I have have really good results with Gamers Grass laser plants. Lots of different kinds, no painting required , and I find they look quite realistic, though some people might find them to be a little fiddly.
I think I prefer the stippling version but that's only because I like a lot of color saturation 😅. I think the tea version would be the most versatile since it's not quite so vibrant and would work well with most color schemes.
amazing, I was so rubbish at this I just thought buying aquarium 'fish tank' plastic decorative plants was the answer.
I have definitely used aquarium and terrarium plants before. But unfortunately many of them are really big 😐. Would look good with something like a Norn Emissary though!
Best jungle basing vid I've seen. Thank you so much
Thanks for another excellent tutorial. What is the ape miniature used in the video please?
Thanks! It's from the Warcry box of Kruleboyz Monstakillaz
Very useful tutorial, I instantly subscribed. Where is the barbarian model from?
Great stuff! Have you found any of the vallejo basing paints to be the equivalent of Stirling mire?
Thanks! I actually wasn't aware that Vallejo had basing paints 😅, just haven't seen them in stores where I am. I've tried some by AK Interactive but they were more paste like than gritty. Huge Minis also has basing pastes but they're also more like a spread than paint with grit in it.
@@DarcyBonoCreations yeah I guess it's more like a paste than a paint, but it's like a quarter the price of GW stuff, so I favour it personally
Can I drink the tea first?
Speaking as a Brit, the last time you Yanks were this disrespectful to tea it ended in tears 😂
And some very caffeinated fish 😉.
@@DarcyBonoCreations Exactly! No one wins except the fish.
I don’t know how you work with gloves. My hands would dissolve in a pool of sweat.
It's only for videos. I can't stand how my hands look under the camera, especially in close ups 😅.
