    Great idea with the sponge patterning. Definitely going to try that out, thanks

    Great colour scheme. If I had not invented Hive Fleet Albino and painted a shitload of Tyranids already, I would easily call this here my favourite.

    Carapace first to make fixing mistakes easy is very smart. Great scheme.

    these new tyranid models, are so good for "one coat" style paints like contrast paints, vallejo express, army painter, etc. i used them to paint up my own homebrew hivefleet, and man ,this scheme really proves my theory that GW intended these tyranid models specifically for contrast paints. amazing scheme. :)

    While I am not "Tyranid guy" or "contrast guy" I appreciate your content. Great job!

    👍👍 I love it and thank you for showing your process! I hope your opponent brings their Vorpal Sword, they're gonna need it 😃

    Dont know how i missed this video, I eas waiting for it! When i first saw the stills of this miniature i was enthralled and then I wanted to know how you created this amazing paint scheme. Thanks for this (and all your videos!) Ill definitely be modifying my own scheme using some of your techniques 🖌️🖌️🖌️

    Your tutorials are outstanding. They are very clear and I love the use of the paper plate to show us the viscosity and opacity of the paint. That is such an important characteristic to understand when using contrast paints. You really are a good art instructor…

    These were not the paints I was expecting from the thumbnail. I still haven't decided how to paint my tyranids from the starter box, but this is absolutely a contender. Great job!

    Excellent work, Darcy! I rather like the color scheme you came up with for this nasty space critter, if ever I get some Tyranid figures, this is the look I'll aim for and it's not red!

      Thank you! It's one of my favorite poems 😄. Figured "the jaws that bite, the claws that catch" line would be fitting for Tyranids.

    Great vid darcy, really like that colour palette and the first time I've seen someone paint something from that particular film franchise and 80's classic. What brushes do you use for your contrast? Synthetics?

    • @DarcyBonoCreations
      @DarcyBonoCreations  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Yep, just synthetics from Michael's. It's their nicer ones that hold a point longer (they're really inexpensive for how good they are). They're called Artist Loft Vienna.

    Darcy may I ask what is the tyranid model you paint in this video?

    • @DarcyBonoCreations
      @DarcyBonoCreations  Před 7 měsíci +2

      It's a Neurolictor.

    Hey, do you think you could do a video on how to paint Alpha legion. or does anyone know dome good guides on how to do it

    • @DarcyBonoCreations
      @DarcyBonoCreations  Před 7 měsíci

      I'll put it on the list! In the mean time, I can just tell you. Drybrush a bright silver over a dark grey primer, using a round tipped dry brush (smudge brushes and small eyeshadow brushes are idea. Video example: czcams.com/video/vMP4qpInpRc/video.html)
      Once it's dry, apply a glaze of Kroxigor Scales. It gives a perfect metallic teal. Then repeat the process, sparingly drybrush highlight and apply a layer of Aethermatic Blue (may take a couple of coats depending on how bright teal you want the highlights. But Kroxigor Scales Contrast over silver does most of the heavy lifting.
