  • Lace up your trail shoes and get ready for a deep dive into the off-season ultra training plan of the legendary Kilian Jornet, the undisputed maestro of ultra-running! Whether you're a seasoned trail enthusiast or just embarking on your trail running journey, this video is your way to mastering the off-season like a true mountain-running icon.
In ultra running, the off-season typically refers to a period of reduced intensity and volume in training, often occurring after the completion of a major race or race season. During this time, athletes take a break from intense competition and structured training to allow their bodies to recover and rejuvenate. The off-season is a crucial part of an athlete's training cycle, providing physical and mental rest while helping to prevent burnout and reduce the risk of overtraining injuries.
While the off-season doesn't necessarily mean complete inactivity, it involves a shift in focus. Athletes might engage in lower-intensity activities, cross-training, or alternative forms of exercise to maintain general fitness without the same level of intensity and duration as their peak training periods. Additionally, the off-season allows athletes to address any lingering injuries, work on weaknesses, and lay the foundation for the next training cycle.
For ultra runners, whose races often involve long distances and significant elevation gains, the off-season is a critical phase for recovery, regeneration, and overall well-being. It's a time to recharge both physically and mentally, ensuring that athletes can approach their next training cycle with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

Let me know what you guys think of the Off-Season Training Plan! Also, I added that on the strength training days, you can do cross-training instead of running on this day. Thanks for watching!

There’s no such thing as the “off season” no such term in running.
