    These questions are super simple to answer.
    "The voters spoke at the ballot box in 2020 and lawfully elected Joe Biden to be the president."
    "Slavery was a horrible stain on our history, the repercussions of which we are still recovering from today. Victims of slavery did not benefit from it. To say otherwise is to diminish their suffering and the gravity of the injustice done to them."

      Nobody is arguing that slavery was good. Slavery was a terrible sin. But its very important to be as accurate and truthful as possible when it comes to history, despite how uncomfortable that might make people feel sometimes. Ideologies like to simplify things. But history is very complex.

    • @BeaverChainsaw
      @BeaverChainsaw Před 11 měsíci

      Yes, I'm sure it was a real comfort to the American slaves knowing that they learned farming and metal-work skills while being whipped by the overseer and their children being carted off to god knows where. Slavery only had benefits to the people who ran plantations and those who earned a living catching, torturing, bred slaves, and sending cheap clothing for slaves to wear. The economic benefits of this mass suffering was also concentrated in 33% of the population that owned slaves which is why southerners called it a rich man's war and a poor man's fight.@@andreasesser4641

    Florida can teach that some slaves learned skilled trades. If they add that the value their work added all belonged to their owner. And that if the lived long enough to see Reconstruction, they probably had a 4-8 year window in which to practice their trades for just payment, before former Confederate leaders regained their right to vote, before the election of 1876, and before 180 years of violence and truncated citizenship after President Hayes promised to withdraw Union troops to guarantee the safety and constitutional rights of blacks and Republicans.
