We will see some of McBride's world record Top Fuel Bike runs in the NHRA, get a good look at his shop and tools, including shaping, boring and honing machines, enter his top secret cylinder head area, get a look at all of his memorabilia and photos featuring his friends and drag racing legends, get a look at the Cycledrag 1977 KZ 1000 we restored in this shop, explain what all-time great Elmer Trett meant, talk about the work McBride did on Legend Car engines, see some Top Fuel Motorcycle drag racing gone wrong, including a nitro bike explosion, talk about a problem McBride had with his Top Fuel motorcycle at the NHRA Chicago race, and we discuss current events in drag bike racing including Chris Moore's first five-second no bar pass on his turbo street bike, the health of the Pro Street motorcycle drag racing class, what happened to the Top Fuel Harleys in the NHRA, riding young motorcycle drag Ravi g stars including Chase Van Sant, Gaige Herrera, Brayden Davis, Trevor Schnitz and others, talk about the future of Top Fuel Bike in the NHRA and a whole lot more. We ask McBride if he would ever bring back his motorcycle "Blue", which ran the first five-second pass back in 1999. We will see some of Larry "Spiderman" McBride and Dave Vantine's top moments from the NHRA and we even watch as McBride does an oil change on his race hauler. Enjoy this inside look at Larry "Spiderman" McBride's race shop, machines and Top Fuel Motorcycle operation.

My dad ran a pro stock record in the late 70’s (79 I believe).
Elmer Trett was a household name and true legend as I watched from the Atco grandstands! Motorcycle drag racing is the thing that brought my dad and I together in my childhood, and I can remember those times clear as day. Steve Johnson set e.t. Records at Atco one day when Angel was first on the scene. They welcomed us into their celebration back at the hauler because we sought their autographs before the first burnout of the day.
Damn, too many cool times to remember; thank you for keeping them alive through sharing your passion so well on CZcams!

I love this video. Nice job Jack. I have been watching Cycle Drag for a couple of years now, and you do a great job. This video is a great experience to see Larry and Steve at their home base. I raced a 78 KZ1000 and an 82 GP1100 back in the 80s at Epping. Always wanted to take it to a professional level but family and other matters took me off that track. Watching these videos makes me jealous, but not regretful. I hope to see you guys up close someday in the near future. Thank you Jack, Larry and Steve for allowing us to see into the inner sanctum.

My uncle Bill Lehman, and my pop Daniel Thomas Hurd , started taking me to the drag strip in cedar falls Iowa when I was 3 years old and by the time I was 5 and 1/2 6 years old I was begging every racer to let me ride their pit bike lol

There Youaren't wrong, sometimes you ahve Most dealers aren't equipped to take care of bikes older than 10 years because their staff are usually younger and haven't had enough experience in actually doing quality repairs or even know what to look for when working on bikes. Truth is, it is ually easier to work on something newer because the bikes aren't as crusty and dusty as something 5 years old. I worked at dealers for many years, but I always took in or forced them to take in stuff that was a little older, or even really old. Of course it wasn't a priority over easier jobs, but it would still get done.
One has to take into consideration that most manufacturers are not obligated to make parts for bikes older than 10 years, so there is that.
The idea of not working on a bike older than 10 years would lead me to believe that that manufacturrer doesn't stand behind their products..
Too bad everything here in NC got rained out this weekend. The AHSRA event at the rock was postponed, the bike event at Galot was a no go as well.
I didn't know the Spiderman not only broke the speed record at our home track and that's why said our home track because I also didn't know that he is basically my neighbor with his shop being about an hour and a half or less from my front door and I could probably shave the time down a little bit by driving straight down and I mean straight down to the ferry about 30 minutes away from my house and jump off of it and then maybe another 45 minute drive and I would be at his shop in Newport News, Virginia because I live in the town of Chester, Virginia which is basically North Chesterfield now they rezoned it and now it's North and South Chesterfield but im on the outskirts of North Chesterfield which is basically SouthSide Richmond and it used to be years ago until they rezoned that too but anyway What's Up Neighbor 😆 🤣 😂

I like grudge racing in all shapes and forms and I like all forms of drag racing but I wished they kept the clocks on as well for the fans and they need to hold just grudge racing events and let the driver's or riders decide on whether or not if they wanted the clocks on for their race and 90k is a big payout for a non No Prep race because as far as I've seen the highest payouts in all of drag racing is in No Prep racing especially in small tire in the south and I've seen 150k and up payouts for their races but I wished that other than the big 3 classes in NHRA payed the winners more so they could race more races similar to what the Spiderman was talking about towards the end of the video
