    🏆🏆🏆✌️🇺🇲🙏. Question-Do you think it would be hard driving, meaning operating the controls to change directions and shifting and steering, for a person with only one functioning arm and hand, due to a stroke? Thank you 🤗
    Thank you for sharing

      I have multiple sclerosis and I use this as my mobility aid. There are two main designs for controls, one uses two sticks (older) and the more modern design uses the handle bars (like mine).
      I often use it one handed when I have issues with control over one arm (my body does something different every day)
      I think if you modified the bars to have a single central handgrip it would be better - the more modern ones again have an "admiral transmission" that makes turning much easier - this would be what I would look at.
      I have the classic transmission, and it needs a bit of force at times.
      Have a chat to an Argo dealer and see if they can give you a test drive in an admiral trans model.
      No foot controls are needed, They are a CVT, so your gear options are High, Low and Reverse. You need to be stopped to change between them, meaning single hand should be fine.
      On water, the main means by which you turn is shifting your weight from side to side, and little input force is needed to turn - so again, I would expect you would be fine.

    How often do you go to see Cameron up at the tank farm?

I have exploited a few exemptions and loopholes in the past and as a result some of those are now closed. There is an area of private beach that you can legally drive on near the border of vic and SA, provided you join the dune buggy club there and follow a few rules.

    That thing needs some good tracks. One of the paddle type tracks.

    • @TheAussieRepairGuy
      @TheAussieRepairGuy  Před 2 lety

      Apparently they are worse in water than the tires.
      Though on this trip - yes probably would have helped.
      I'm looking at designing my own grouser tracks, to fit my trailer - I don't have a lot of room - so 18 inch rubber tracks etc are not an option.
      This particular boghole is not something I do regularly, it's a once-a-year thing

    • @plaid13
      @plaid13 Před 2 lety

      @@TheAussieRepairGuy It depends what tracks you get. The rubber or plastic tracks that are sold by argo wont work but adair or beaver dam and a couple others will paddle better in the water than the tires.

    • @TheAussieRepairGuy
      @TheAussieRepairGuy  Před 2 lety

      @@plaid13 I looked at adair for a while, and according to the various groups I'm in, they all cite varying results. I'm on the water more than anything else. I got a quotye to get a set of adair tracks to Australia, and I'm looking at nearly $20,000aud, that what I paid for my argo...
      and that's only shipped to the nearest port (currently in covid lockdown) which is 3-4 hours away

    • @TheAussieRepairGuy
      @TheAussieRepairGuy  Před 2 lety

      and in order to use adair tracks, I'd have to cut up and modify my $6500 trailer, making it fall into a higher registration class
      and triple the cost to register.
      probably easier to make my own to fit the space I have.

    • @plaid13
      @plaid13 Před 2 lety

      @@TheAussieRepairGuy Oh wow yeah that price is nuts. The beaver dam style ones are the ones that really paddle the best but if the adair cost that much there i cant imagine the beaver dam would be any cheaper. Maybe with your limits on trailer space and the amount of time you spend in the water just really aggressive paddle tires would be better. Not sure what options are out there that would work on the argos though. But you see some pretty aggressive mud paddle tires for other atvs. Bound to be something thats got some big scoop like paddles to push through the water and still do good in the mud.
