I think we need to understand that nothing lasts forever. I have bought plenty of things from the store like tumblers with whatever on them and no they did not last more than a year or two. If people are really looking for things to last for all eternity then they should wait for eternity. Won't happen. We do our best to make amazing products to last as long as we can but they may wear. We are handmade artists who are not mass producing via machines. I used to be really hard on myself about EVERYTHING because I have this thing called perfectionism lol but now I try not to let my perfectionism ruin my life and deal with the fact that there will be imperfections. Nothing and nobody is perfect. Thanks for the video!

I'm making really nice stuff and I live deep in the country so with gas prices delivering is out of the question.i don't want a bunch of random people coming to me. So idk what to do. Offer shipping? Factor shipping costs in my price? Btw I would love to see that first video you mentioned once that you posted on here

Hi Dawn! Maybe look into something like Etsy as a platform to start selling online and it’s an easier way to figure shipping out. Shipping for a wood round right now is about $20.

Hi! I am in Kansas City and have had a hobby for several years that includes antiques, vintage, repurposed furniture, and anything that I can just change. These are some great tips that I wish I had known too. My craft room is filled with the unfinished idea projects, lol. I love thrift stores as a resource for old wood signs that I can change too. Oh another tip for those starting out without tools is that Home Depot and Lowe's will cut wood. I've had to use this many times until I made enough to get a saw. Thank you so much for sharing these tips!

Thanks for these tips. My family has been telling me I should start selling my wood signs. It's a hobby, I love doing it, super therapeutic and plus, a lot of the time I make my own high end looking decor for next to nothing....or make things for family for free....because why not? It's an escape for me...I'm having fun. Haha To make money doing it, would be a dream come true. My biggest fear is getting overwhelmed....your "be honest" part helps me with that, like I've always had a hard time telling people no...anyways, like you said in the beginning, it's a process. Haha That is something I need to work on.
Very inspiring. So thanks so much for that. Elisha English says "start very small", build up your confidence, and also for people on low income, starting small is key.... sell one sign or small piece of furniture and take your profit to buy 2 pieces or 1 big piece....etc etc etc. This way you wont overwhelm yourself and you're dipping your toes in the water to make sure its something you want to do.
Anyways... I look forward to more of your videos and more tips and tricks as you keep learning along the way!!😊 all the tips and tricks woman!🤪 by the way, congrats on 10k! That's huge is such a short time!!🥳🥳

As far as selling goes. Since you're already creating things for your friends and family I would start a Facebook business page. Start posting your creations and have your friends and family that have received your items leave reviews and people will start coming your way. It's a lot slower pace than starting on Etsy or some other forum like that. Have you thought about creating a channel for all your upscale crafts and signs?

Hello Amanda. To be completely honest I had built my business almost entirely locally. I’ve heard people using pizza boxes to ship wood rounds and when it came to the wood signs I would use ummm it’s not bubble wrap - it’s like a foam wrap - hard to explain and just brown paper and never had issues. I’ve been crafting for 5+ years but now since everyone is getting a machine business started to die down. I recently took of the tasks of making memorial decals (6x6 size and 2 colors) for $8, donating $5 each to family. That was a huge mistake on my end, I am barely making any money and spending a TON of time doing them but I’m a good person and I thought it would get my name out there more.
