THE best Hard Rock band in the universe. And in any parallel ones.
Band-Maid's primary vocalist Saiki mentioned that she wrote the song 'Hate?' to match their composer Kanami's angry and frustrated sounding score. Saiki was venting her own angry feelings at the time to anyone who would cheat on their partner. She was not referring to any specific person, but rather was responding in general to those who betray another in a relationship. Their primary lyrist, Miku Kobato, helped somewhat, but most of the song was brilliantly written by Saiki herself.
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up.
Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

Good reaction. BandMaid at it's finest! The singer wrote the lyrics and she was eloquent in her loathing of a trifling (presumably) male individual. The back and forth conversation between MISA and Dark Mincho was epic. We win!
Minor correction - they weren't solos, but duets with AKANE killing it in support!
They do have true solos, even SAIKI, and they're freaking amazing!

I got to see them do this live in a tiny venue in Sacramento. I've seen hundreds of concerts over the years, and never got quite the charge I did out of that one.
Ohh sounded like fun! I mainly go to EDM concerts. Haven’t been to a metal show, unless you count at the state fair as a kid. lol. But it was more so 70s-80s rock. lol.

Misa (bass) - Barefoot Assassin because she doesn't wear a shoe when she performs on stage.
Miku (rhythm guitar/vocalist) - the pigeon and also founder of the band. I called her a fighter/support because she doesn't know how to play a guitar. Look what she is become now.
Kanami (lead guitar) - also known as Mincho (don't know what it's mean). She is Miku's guitar teacher. She is also the main composer of all Band-Maid songs.
Saiki (lead vocalist) - the iced queen, love sneakers and trains.
Akane (drum) - the gorilla. The goofiest and funniest among the member in my POV.

This band refuses to be pigeon-holed, but when new fans start viewing Band-Maid music, we Maidiacs (that what Band-Maid fans call ourselves) it's not a rabbit-hole. Miku, their adorable rhythm guitarist (she wears the red rose on her head band), primary backup vocalist, primary lyricist, and founder of the band) considers herself the reincarnation of a 810 year old pigeon. She ends every one of her sentences with "po", which refers to as pigeon speak. It's disconcerting at first but really adorable after a while. So welcome to the "pigeon-hole" of Band-Maid. Band-Maid fans will tell you it is a joyous journey. The next thing you will want to do is see them live. Their live concerts are even mor enjoyable than their videos. The band loves performing before a live audience and more importantly they love interacting with audience members. I'm 75 years old, seen a lot of rock music, and have seen them twice and plan to see them again when they tour the U.S. Just to give you an idea of how popular Band-Maid has come in their 10 years together, they have over 80 million subscribers on their CZcams channels with over 300 million views worldwide of their videos on the channel. That is what I would call success.
