Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite Review | Why does this phone exist?

  • Review of Samsung's Galaxy S10 Lite after a week of using it as my personal smartphone, including a look at the camera tech, PubG performance, battery life and One UI experience. This reimagined version of the original Samsung flagship sports more basic specs and features, for a cheaper asking price. But the Galaxy S10 Lite is still too expensive and lacking vs rivals like the OnePlus 8, which costs almost the same but offers more speed, 5G support, 90Hz display tech and more.
    Here in the UK, you can pick it up from £38 a month on Vodafone, or £569 SIM free
    www.vodafone.co.uk/mobile/phones/pay-monthly-contracts/samsung/galaxy-s10-lite
    I'd say, if you're set on grabbing a Samsung phone, try and find a good deal on the original S10 instead of buying this. Alternatively you can snaffle a Galaxy A51 for around £300 and that'll do most people just fine. The camera tech here isn't much more advanced, while the A-series smartphone still delivers a strong media setup. You can even play PubG Mobile with a respectable frame rate.
    Or if you're willing to look elsewhere, check out the excellent OnePlus 8. This premium phone is one of the best around that £500-600 asking price, boasting stronger battery life, a telephoto camera and the latest Snapdragon 865 platform with 5G support. Overall it's a much better mobile, so have a squint at my full review for all you need to know.

    I've had this phone for a year and it's been a super solid experience overall. I did shatter the top half of my screen a few months back (I dropped it from high up onto concrete, but I had dropped it maybe 50 times before from just my height and it hadn't gained a scratch so I wouldn't say it's a fragile phone) so the selfie camera doesn't work, but that's the only thing that was impacted. The screen is still super bright and vibrant and pics taken from the main camera are as good as ever. My phone runs super smooth all the time, I honestly hadn't even realized it didn't have 90hz refresh. It does get sort of hot if I'm playing certain games, but it cools down quickly. It also gets pretty hot while charging but I get a full charge from 0 to 100 in like 45 mins so it doesn't really bother me. It's got tons of space, I have hundreds of photos and plenty of apps and I still haven't even used half of the storage. My only issue is that the S10 Lite isn't very common in the US so it's hard to find phone cases, and Samsung doesn't seem to accept it as a trade in device. Aside from that, I'd 100% recommend it

    I have owned the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite for over a month now and I am very happy with it. I wanted a phone with a bigger sceen, bigger battery, and at least a 855 processor for videos and game playing. The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite smartphone does this at a sakes price of $449.95 at the Best Buy website on May 31st, 2020. The triple camera setup is nice and will take me a minute to enjoy all of the features

    Iphone 11 vs Samsung galaxy s10 Lite
    Hello all, my main concern about the two phones is which one's battery is going to last me more in a day? I currently own a Samsung galaxy S8 (bought it 1 year ago), and im not very charmed by the battery life(the battery health is perfect). If i use it too much it just can't get me a full day( browsing,videos,messenger,FB). So which one do you think is going to be the battery champion? :)

    Big Brite Screen and it's a Samsung, and oh yeah the cameras idk what you're looking at but my pic are supper good even in low light. pix at nite and it looks like day or dusk and that's without the night mode, super steady recording is flawless! The note 10 lite is also a steal. They're not meant to compare they're just different, go on eBay and try to find a reame x50 or OnePlus 8 for under 800 dollars sealed in box and you'll see what I mean...

    It's been the best phone I've ever had. The video quality is outstanding, battery is amazing, and Snapdragon is a big step up from Exynos it seems.
    Not sure on pricing now, but if you're after a huge screen, long lasting battery and amazing quality video, this is the phone for you.

    Everybody is recommending 90hz, but some reveiws say that phone doesn't always run at 90hz, it depends upon the apps we use. And there is hardly any app which support 90hz. So why to go for 90hz refresh rate. 60hz and high end processor, isn't it enough?

    • @rf7182
      @rf7182 Před 4 lety +3

      90Hz true purpose is gaming, especially FPS game. But now, the only FPS game on smartphone is Game for peace (chinese version of PUBGM). Other than that is "extra smooth" movement when u read etc.

    • @schmeat7609
      @schmeat7609 Před 4 lety +4

      Exactly. Barely any games support high refresh rate let alone apps. Only one that I know of is dead cells which bugs out at high refresh rate anyways.

    • @cirecomputers
      @cirecomputers Před 4 lety +4

      Because they want you to think you need it .....To sell phones....which is what they do. Anybody who knows anything about displays knows the 90hz will only help you with anything at 61 to 90 fps content which at this point is pretty much nothing but some GAMES .. So if you're not a gamer..... YES 60 hz is plenty. You might want to ask yourself why the vast majority of laptop displays are still at 60hz? And the answer would be because that is all that is necessary for crisp clear viewing for your average user. You do get a lot of good factual information from these reviewers. But don't forget this is their business, so if they crap on any phone too hard they lose that sponsor or maybe even the free test phone. So listen to the facts and take the opinions with a grain of salt.

    • @limitless3193
      @limitless3193 Před 4 lety +1

      the problem with 90hz is that it reduces battery life and results in bad colour reproduction. that is why it is switched off for the ui. you only need it for gaming
