I recently worked with a few men frkm the Philippines....amazing people very respectful, im beginning to learn their language, and am taking major interest in Escrima....I already bought my sticks!!
I'm from Ma. Back in the 80's I took a couple of months of modern arnis,leaned a few things ,but didn't get on well with the teacher. A decade or so later I briefly met the founder of the art,the Professor, can't remember his name, he was sick at thetime ,but filming tech with one of his students. Sadly not long after that he died. While practising other arts Ive tried to keep my filipino arts useful. As I've said before ,like what you 're doing and I "drop in" to practice with you now and again. Spent last summer working on my fifth son staff form. Plan to add some of your tech to it this yr. So long. r.p.m.

Thanx dude I've been down in my knees since I ripped my ACL and my leg buckled on me 14 years ago. So this is awesome work out and my Father always fought with this Technique (but only if he had no other choice) but never tought it to me bc he said that it could be deadly. He learn from my grandfather who was in the Philippines in WW2. I was never aware that the work out behind Kali is awesome and I feeling better health wise and in mind. Love to and will be learning more. keep them videos coming!

Is the number 1 umbrella a strike or a block or both? If it was being done on a tyre / bag would it be drilled with a strike or just as a block in the air? Thanks!
In Kali, both. All strikes can block and all blocks can strike.
