@@thefilthyartist that would be awesome. Just so you know... My issue is: i built a character in character creator exported his animated ABC into 3dsmax and marvelous designer did my cloth sim, set up materials in 3dsmax. Then exported it all as an ABC into unreal 5.2 expecting to see a list of materials (cloth, hair, eyes, skin etc) which I was happy to sort out. But the abc is one object, theres no sub meshs (hair fur cloth etc). the animation is good but its jsut one material and one object.

Hey there, I'm currently working on my degree honours project and everytime I import my alembic to unreal it doesnt read the materials correctly. The naming conventions are there now but the materials havent been assigned correctly to the faces/mesh eventhough I spent time re-applying materials to my characters faces in maya like you showed. Any ideas?

If I want to work this with textures, can I follow the same process?

Hello... what if you have 6 textures sets from Substance Painter? There seems to be no way to assign these all to their respective pieces of the model using alembic.

@@thefilthyartist yes, the realtime rendering is great coming from maya,
are you bothered by the lack of data-smith for maya to ue?
