8 Ohm High-Power Dummy Load For Testing Amplifiers

  • In this video, I build an 8 ohm dummy load, using 4 ohm 100W resistors wired in series and a decent sized heatsink. I build two 8 ohm 200W "channels", which means two channels of an amplifier can be tested at the same time (stereo). These two "sets" can be wired in parallel to give a massive 400W 4 ohm load. Alternatively, you can just connect across one of the the 4 ohm resistors to get a 100W load. Very versatile. Enjoy!
