these speedruns are absolutely great. thank you for sharing them! In modern games like Gothic you have to drag your character through all the steps and dialouges even if you alredy know the way and passwords -> uncool. btw you didn't even open ariel's cage and let her out? :O ;D
Yeah, one time when I was playing UW1, I wanted to see what would happen if I took my time getting to the green moongate at the end. Apparently, your life will drain almost to the end, but you never really die. I luv UW1, but I must say, I've never tried it without a rune bag. Nice job, thecybercat! Every now and then I pull this game out and play it when I get bored with the other junk on my PC. I still love the Pac-Man part of UW1.
Now that was a delightful sentimental journey. Best solo-game I ever played! If only developers would put this much effort in a rpg today... Oh well. I was there when they did. Thanks! PS the "turd bug" was really helpful, I remember that well ;-)
I remember this o-o; so scary I played this when i was two and three.. My dad loved it and he would be cursing to see how quick you did this.... but this makes me want to go back and play the old games.... Maybe borrow the old cd's my dad has of it still XD.. I remember the music and never getting to far in it but hope one day i can beat them. Great run love to see old games getting love.
fun fact for those who have played ultima underworld: somewhere in DC, in the mall (where the capital building and washington monuments are visible), outside, in one of the art gardens, is a shiny silver tree, possibly a reference to ultima underworlds silver sapling? :) just a guess (and an AWESOME art find) but isnt that amazing that i happened upon it?
"Thou hast accomplished what no-one else could have..." No shit! How the heck did you know where to go, what objects to use, who to talk to? Seems like a mindless wandering maze hell if you don't know *exactly* where you're going. Awesome job.
There is something about uo that i could play over and over even if i found it ridiculously hard. Seriously,no game has gotten me into dungeon crawling like ultima underworld.

@Szederp You have to increase the the CPU-cycles of DOSBox with Ctrl-F12. 7000 cycles should be enough. You can decrease the cycles again with Ctrl-F11.
BTW, was this game True 3D, like could you look all the way up and down? I see subtle hints that it was, like when you're flying around with that levitation stone. If so, this would be waay ahead of quake, and even before doom!
Well, you do need some items, but I don't want to spoil it for you. All you need to know you will learn by playing the game. After you finish, play UW2!
Download dosBOX from the internet. It will emulate so many different variations of the classic DOS environment, plus allowing for emulation of various music and sound cards from that time. Adlib or Sound Blaster, anyone?
30 MIN? Damn! I Facing this game now 3rd or 4th day and I really spent many hours each day. :D Still end is far , so i dont watch video to the end becouse i don't waste pleasure of walk thru myself ; ) I need all those artifacts to end game?
Hey no worry, I am that type of guy who despises cheating ; ) (exceptionally situations like some bug fixing wich make game unfinishable, or just for fun but only AFTER finishing game) I never get how some people can enjoy maching games on cheats. I Think some sort of Challange is important part of gaming. How someone can enjoy playing games 'godlike' i never understand this. Back to my question soo do I need all those artifacts to finish the game? (I mean like shield of Valor)

AWESOME, NOW i dont have to grind this game out!! never did beat this game. But loved the pack man stage on stage 5 (or was it 4)...

Glitches or not, this is not an easy maze to navigate. I never did get very far in this game.
