From theMarilynMonroesite.com
Greg Schreiner owns a comprehensive collection of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, encompassing furniture items from Marilyn's final home, autographs, cancelled bank checks, including a check to Eunice Murray dated August 4, 1962, film scripts, documents and original costume sketches. Mr. Schreiner also possesses one of the largest private collections of Marilyn Monroe screen worn and publicity gowns.
In 2006, items from his personal collection of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, including nine gowns, original costume sketches and custom dolls toured the world, with stops in the US and Japan. In 2007, the Texas State Fair was proud to exhibit nine Marilyn Monroe gowns from the collection. The display was the most diverse exhibit of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia ever to be showcased in one place. To view Greg being interviewed at the exhibit, please click here. The Hollywood Museum showcased Greg's collection in 2008, and Greg's collection is touring again in 2009.
Mr. Schreiner is the President and a founding member of the longest running fan club in existence today, Marilyn Remembered. Each year since 1982, Greg has arranged and facilitated the Marilyn Monroe Memorial Service, held on August 5 at Westwood Memorial Park, Marilyn's resting place.
He is also the pianist, narrator and producer of "Hollywood Revisited," a cabaret style extravaganza allowing audience members to experience what it's like to watch celebrities walk the red carpet as their favorite Tinseltown classics come to life. This stunning musical revue showcases a truly dazzling lineup of costumes actually worn by the stars in the original Hollywood films. Set to the music that defined the times, this show leaves viewers in awe as they learn about and come close enough to touch these historic original masterpieces of old-time Hollywood.
Mr. Schreiner has performed as a soloist with the Los Angeles Concert Orchestra, Santa Monica College Symphony, UCLA Symphony, Cypress Pops Orchestra and performed on the opening ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics. In addition to having several recordings in release, he performed the Shostakovitch and Piano Concerto for the PBS series In Search Of Wisdom and was the composer/performer for the educational series Masters Of The Silent Screen. He is on the piano faculty of Cerritos College and is the accompanist for the Mansfield Chamber Singers.

"Marilyn touches all of us in some way through her spirit. It's amazing the emotions she elicits. Everyone seems to want to hold and protect her. I cannot think of any other film star who has that power and influence over people."
~Greg Schreiner - Krátké a kreslené filmy
He should open a Marilyn museum
I totally agree!!!
He's got such an awesome Marilyn Monroe collection and costumes she wore in films that's really cool
To this day, so much controversy - about her, about property etc. All I can say is this: I have been to Mr. Schreiner's house twice - in 1997 and in 2002 following the annual Memorials held at Westwood. He opened his home to everyone and everyone I met there was extremely nice - fans (from all over the world), people from Marilyn films, industry people - everyone very gracious and kind. That's all. The MM mystique! Two days ago I saw a young woman (20-ish) wearing a Marilyn T-shirt. I know darn well that her mother probably had not been born until well after Marilyn died. Who else rates that kind of phenomenon?
Steve Folkes NO WAY WHERE ?
Greg Schreiber is a true gentleman. I have met him at the marilyn monroe memorials in 2002 ,2006 2012.and have had the privilege of see his collection in his home.if you want to know anything about marilyn he's the guy to go to.
I would give my right arm to own something belonging to Marilyn. She was so beautiful but seemed so kind and sweet ❤
Well literally ( talking of arms) I'd love to own a pair of gloves she wore, small, beautiful, easy to house/ display but very personal.
OMG I LITERALLY GASPED WHEN I HEARD THAT HE BID ON A LUCILLE BALL DRESS❤, AND THE MARILYN MERCHANDISE.. OML😍😍😍
Greg Schreiner and my dear friend George Erengis two fans doing what they loved best...preserving the golden age of Hollywood they both treasured so much. Grazie mille.
This is incredible, I would love to own something that belonged to Marilyn Monroe! R.I.P. Norma Jean 2019
The last check she ever signed worth 5000? In today’s market more like 20,000
exactly !
I'm peeing on myself, he has the dress i like most. That iconic gold dress. GOD bless you, enjoy it.
Love that dress, she could not had looked any better.
I like these rare photos. They show a more softer, yet beautiful side of Marilyn Monroe. She is a beautiful woman. "Keep a beautiful thought of her legacy and life alive an d well, always!"
Amazing! I'd love to see his collection in person.
I am Glad to see that part of her collection is in safe hands. Bravo!
He needs a museum
Does this man still have this collection? Beautiful costumes!!
Hi Sandra, yes he does still have the collection, he's on facebook too if you want to talk to him :)
THANK YOU GREG LOVE YOUR ARTIFACTS GOD BLESS R.I.P. MARILYN
Great Collection!you have an awesome amazing collection i could only dream of having!!! Love it!!!
Love your collection Greg!! It's so wonderful to see all the gorgeous MM items you have,,i have been a fan of MM for many years, but it's difficult to get the really wonderful items because they usually cost a fortune. After watching this video, it was encouraging to hear that some of the items were not that expensive, I'm still hoping to find that one special item of MM's ;)
simply amazing collection xxxx
I am from the uk ,back in 1977 we went on a Hollywood tour of stars homes and the coach stopped so we could see her home
That's amazing how wonderful would it be to be able to have such things
The fridge is actually stainless steel. The sides were painted dark blue by Marilyn to match her tile. The photo makes the fridge look darker by picking up reflections and is badly lit.
people would save up money for this wow :O these are true fans
I can't even dream of owning something of Marilyn's. It would be beyond amazing🙂
Lovely collection and he is saving many Beautiful items for future generations to appreciate. 🌸
Wow that's amazing with the Marilyn Monroe collection and more. Bless. them 🙏💕🌟..
AMAZING collection!!!
incredible collection! I'm seriously jealous!
Foi a mulher mais bonita do planeta terra um fim triste
He should put it a museum
Greg loans his items out for exhibitions 😃 I've seen many of his pieces here in Australia
That dress and her behavior that night probably got her killed. RIP MM❤️
He hit paydirt with that autographed check! Cool!
congratulation for his collection !
Beautiful 🤩
wow, this is incredible!! i almost want to cry just thinking of touching something Marilyn wore....he seems so sweet and deserving though :*) he should do tours!
Amazing ♥️
Respect for this man 👍💪
It's so pretty!
I'm so glad people care to take care of Hollywood history.
Amazing
Good for Mr. Greg Schreiner! He is (in many ways!) honouring Marilyn's memory. I have a fairly small (but relatively good) collection of celebrity autographs - "playbills" and photographs, mostly of the big stars of yester-year, rather than today. A good friend got me interested some years back and I've greatly enjoyed it. And it can be a very good investment (!) certainly more than one will ever get via savings account at the local bank. A good many of my "finds" are framed - and up on my living-room wall. Why hide them in a dusty closet? Marilyn is a very high-ticket item as far as autograph collections go. Hmmm...I wonder if Mr. S. would trade my (1950) Mae West playbill (from"DIamond Lil") which has a very nice signature/note written by Miss West on the cover-page - for a "Marilyn" - "anything!" LOL! (I'm serious). Cheers to all!
Need to meet you! Thanks for this share-please try n find me-
Riva Ridge aren't you worried somebody might take them from your wall?
Hello Nancy M: Not really, as I think the vast majority of thieves aren't very bright to say the least, and they wouldn't have a clue as to knowing anything about Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Joan Crawford and others from that era. No joke, a much younger person was over and pointed to the autographed, Joan Crawford "glossy" and wondered if that was my mother. I just said "no" and hoped he wouldn't start calling me "Christina." Of course, the joke flew over his head and I guess one has to be of a certain age to "get it" (like me!) LOL! Cheers from Niagara Canada!
Nice to see a man appreciating fashion!
She was so fabulous. Marilyn Monroe Died | Head Stones
I live this TV appearance of you too Greg! What a lucky man you are! We both are not bad in our collection! :-) See you soon! Your dear friend from Deutschland!
what a great collection he has!
Hi greg, thanks for her...
Fantastico tropo intereso gracie mile tuta colecsione stupenda
She ordered a sofa and didn't get to sit in it? Yeah, definitely was going to do herself in 🤔
Exactly! Sort of weird just like an entire new wardrobe from Saks a week earlier! Hm. What a shame “whoever” got away with this. 💗.
Accidentally overdosed .. it definitely was not suicide.
@@moc7323 no meds in her stomach & only 2 cc’s of liquid.
Yes, definitely. No expert but had a bit of a Marilyn moment last year in lockdown and read a few books. Tried to read different approaches. I suspect medical blundering from her doctor. Interesting too that it was her housekeeper's very last shift and she reported the timeline all wrong. And the police found the washing machine on a cycle - at that time of the morning?? Medical enema leading to accidental overdose... I think, anyway. Poor, poor Marilyn
The cheque written to (evil) Eunice Murray, was signed ON the day Marilyn died. Marilyn died before midnight of the 5th August 62. Rest Easy sweet Marilyn❤🌹🕯
**Edit Or was cashed in on the 4th by Eunice, and could have been signed by Marilyn days before...
Hope you have this in a Will to be donated to a Museum collection.......
hi, you can find him on facebook, Greg Schreiner.
Its a fun hobby but I would not be putting my life savings into this stuff. I would not mind owning something Marilyn had if I was rich. Maybe a pair of heels or a lipstick. A Beatles guitar would be awesome too. But heck where would I put it? I agree it be best to put the money into helping the needy..But I admit Marilyn was special. I enjoyed seeing Elvis's stuff at Graceland too. They are part of history and they touched alot of people...
. .
Cool !!!!!
I would give anything (well, not everything, but you know what I mean…..), to spent a day at your place. It must be magic!
I am fortunate enough to have met Greg, I travelled los Angeles for the marilyn monroe anniversary memorials and he kindly invited me to his home to see this amazing collection !!°
@@clivecarser7356 wow. that must have been like a dream come true. Lucky you!
@@normadesmond6017 it sure was ,to to so close to Marilyn's things was amazing. He is a very kind ,generous and knowledgeable man .
Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. It's his personal wealth and as a collector myself I understand his passion. Additionally, as a humanitarian, I understand yours as well.
I am not a wealthy collector, but I am fortunate and I give what I can to noble charities.
this is a cool video of Greg and his MM/Hollywood Memorabilia. I have some great stuff as well, but I don't think I want to get into the clothing stuff. I mean, how long is this material gonna last no matter what you do to it now? My passion is genuine autographs and I have many. No MM yet, but Ginger Rogers, Gene Tierney, Jane Russell, Sandra Dee, Cyd Charisse, Stella Stevens are just a few I own now. I hope one day we can have a MM museum, that is after Anna Strasberg is long gone.
si que es un autentico fan de marilyn monroe
@trice1890 I am a collector too and you are right, its somehow sick to collect stuff about other people. Somehow we want some part of the celebrities star status or we may we have met these stars. Its right to help other instead of these, but each to his own happiness. Its like having treasure you know. The feeling of this addiction is unexplainable.
Marilyn Monroe ❤❤❤❤❤❤
While I can certainly appreciate your opinion and rationale, don't forget that this is the gentleman's personal $ that he has maybe worked hard to attain. He can do with it as he wishes. Hopefully he will make this available to the general public at some point.
Marilyn monroe absolute thought out and without plans, carictoristic and trusted way far out ot the naturaly capeable of just about anything.
how could I get in contact with this guy mr. schreiner? would like to know about where props are kept and when they decide to sell them
he's a professor at my college...
he teaches piano :)
but the fridge in the pic is black ? the bought is white?
thanks gonna try to
PS - am an acquaintance and friend of Debbie Reynolds - (know you know my point in reference)
Happy Hunting sweetie!!!
Yes, and dear Debbie had quite a number of Marilyn items...including the iconic white Seven Year Itch dress...which I believe sold for over 5 million dollars a couple years ago. :) I love Debbie
That sounds very exciting, do tell us what it is!
Ok I’m jealous now
Where will this exhibition be? What address?
Mark Bellinghaus also have a lot of Marilyn's stuff. I wonder if they know one another.
wow . thats my dream
That kinda stuff should be in a muzeum
God, I thought I was the only one gay enough to want a MMM (MM Museum). lol And I agree. I was a bit perplexed when the great Debbie Reynolds decided to sell her Hollywood collection. Funny I should happen upon the video- In less than 6 hours I am moving to Palm Springs CA with the eventual goal of creating a movie memorabilia museum. PS is a great tourist destination with appeal for this sort of thing, and a far better final resting place than some musty warehouse on a fault-line.
Sean Taroli have you opened your museum?
lucky omg 😳
He deserves Marilyn
Hi Gregg. (or any Marilyn collector who may be interested)
How do I get in touch with you about a unique Marilyn item to sell?
I also wanted to have anything from norah jean
You said you saw the film Something's Got to Give? I thought that film was never finished.
No , the movie Some like it hot
He somehow got some of her furnishings
...♡!!!!
Incredible creature💀
Correction! They dress from President Kennedys birthday was sold at auction for 4.million dollars. You can watch the auction.
Hi Kirby, he's talking about the first time the dress went up for auction in 1999, the 4.8mil auction hadn't happened when this was filmed. The dress sold in 1999 at an auction in New York City for over $1.26 million. Canadian billionaire Jim Pattison subsequently purchased the dress in 2016, for $4.8 million
ThePropKing gotcha! Thank you for the clarification! ♥️
1.4 mill? Now its 4 million, bruh
женщина легенда!
HJHi Gregg.
I have something of a nude Marilyn that is UNIQUE, really no other of this size and material has ever been produced. I know for sure since I saw it being made. I want to sell it now that i'm up in years.. . Can you tellme how to go about it?
Her death made a lot of money for a lot of people.
MAKE SURE you have all of your MM stuff go to the right place in your future.....
how would I find someone if I want to place something in an auction
Hi George, if you like you can send me an e-mail at kingjason1@aol.com and I can help you find the appropriate auction house for the item you have. They each have different strengths.
I hope he's leaving his collection to a reputable museum.
Buying memories very often could be good investment. So when somebody said it’s better to help poor people then spend money on MM dress I am not agree. Working hard we not only provide ourselves with food, house, car everything we need to have good life but many people like to have hobbies. Some people travel all the time, some collect shoes, bags, books, paintings, china..... some hobbies waist of money and some can be very profitable in the future. Even after 58 years MM still popular and many people would like to buy some her staff. This man not only has opportunity every day see and touch things MM owned, used, worn but any time he can sell and have money to live comfort life. Personally I help only animals shelters
Dress went for 4m at more recent auction
Monroe was huge star in her day, but i would not be interested in owning any of her personal effects as she led a very unhappy life and had a sad and lonely death.
william harper in that case, you must covet Milton Berle paraphernalia - he lived a very happy life and died a peaceful death.
She actually accomplished her dream of being a major hollywood star, was friends with a lot of incredible people, not to mention slept with many of them, succeeded in becoming a good actress and an icon and was loved by many. I'm sure she had a lot of fun and happiness not available to ordinary people. And being that pretty must have brought her pleasure as well. She was lonely, but not unloved. I'm sure if she settled as easily as your average woman, or if her needs were as simple, she could easily end up marrying some nice average guy and had kids, if those are your criteria of happiness. She lived a short life, but it was fuller than most lives. And with her sensitivity, which made her what she is, perhaps it just had to be that way. Not ours to judge if she lived a bad life or not.
All we know of her is what they let us know. Everyone has good and bad times. She was a super star and I believe loved by many.
i get a feeling that he wears those dresses sometimes...
🤣🤣🤣👍
