    The outro's I like the best are just showing a few bloopers you cut out of the main content. Thanks for continuing these informative videos. 👍

    Seems like the fan should vent the dust outside the engine compartment rather than dumping it inside to just be recycled.

    I have installed these kits on older R series machines and newer ones. That harness actually would work on the older ones. I believe it has been removed or used for something else on the mainframe harness. You actually had to install a fuse on the mainframe FRC as well. The most recent one I have done used the engine diagnostic plug like you did. Only difference is they splice in another 6 pin plug that way you do not have to unplug the fan when getting into the engine side of the diagnostics. I wouldn't be surprised when they made the switch that some harnesses got mixed up and packaged incorrectly. These kits really do improve the life of the filter. Great video!!

      Thanks for the information, not sure what happened with the harness. Thanks for the clarification 👍

    It would great to see you do a repair video on the mt85 undercarriage.Rebuilding the old undercarriage into the new grease less design.

    Regarding the mounting bracket holes: Instead of drilling clearance holes, use a tap drill size then tap the holes. It will make maintenance much quicker and easier than bolts and nuts. Especially since the bolt/nut combo is a two man job. Good informative video as usual. Thank you.

    I was thinking I would get the maintenance kit from Bobcat. I have never allowed the hours to go beyond 200 before changing oil. I will be changing due to time rather than hours. Thanks for your info. Just trying to learn more about the new technology in this machine.

    We put a pre cleaner up behind the cab and run a pipe to the air filter for the air intake to come through. Fix’s problem.

      You need to remount the air filter and spin it so the filter inlet is pointing to the bottom then you can fit a flex hose on

    My ditch witch mini skid has a bad design when it comes to that too. Engine compartment and air filter always have a lot of dust. Never gets through to the inner filter though at least.

    I'm guessing they were pulling the engine outer air filter out well it was running to get the inside one dirty

    I just wonder why there are no automatic or sime-automatic filter cleaner mechanisms on those or other machines like everybody knows them from vacuum cleaners? Hitting a button and then the filter shakes or air flow goes into other direction for 1 or 2 seconds to clean it from dust.

    I’m working on and S250 sn#526012635 with two speed motors. Drive carrier seals blown out. Is there anything other than the case drain filter being plugged up that would cause those seals to blow out? Could there possibly be a valve sticking in the drive motor causing that case drain pressure to build up? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Wouldn’t a T86-like snorkel to the top be a better solution? I wonder how long that fan lasts in a dusty environment, fans usually don’t like this at all.

    As a multiple bobcat owner thanks for your effort. Total fail on bobcat s part. I doubt that band aid will have much of a service life. Changing and inspecting filters will be a struggle in the field.

  • @siduramaxde
    @siduramaxde Před 7 měsíci +1

    So they suck air out of the air filter housing while the engine is sucking air into the filter housing? Sounds counter productive. Seems like moving the air intake to a better spot would be a better solution? Good video though!

    When it’s dry we could knock dirt off the air filter multiple times a day. There is no way we are installing a new air filter every time.

      Plug the end while your banging so dirt doesn't go inside it. I'm sure you already knew that

    Quick Question: I thought the duck bill on the air filter cover was for air to go into the filter housing. When putting a vacuum on that, where/how does air enter?

    • @tetradgroup
      @tetradgroup  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Air actually enters from the rear of the filter housing not the duck bill

    Just upgraded from a S175 to a T66. Quite a differance. Been watching several of your videos especially on the filters and fuel system. I have been using Wix filters since I bought the 175 new in 2008 with no problems. I. Can get NAPA gold filters at the local parts store but I wonder what would be the stance by Bobcat if there were a warranty issue and not having Bobcat filters in use? Also, the salesman thought I should use on road fuel instead of off road. I would think that if it is purchased from a high volume dealer and delivered to the machine in my nurse tank with filter it should be fine., Your thoughts?

    • @tetradgroup
      @tetradgroup  Před 6 měsíci

      You won't be able to get the fuel filter, air filters, or hydraulic filter from napa anyway. No cross reference available at this time. The engine oil filter will cross with Bobcats old part number, but not the new oil filter number, which has been upgraded.

  • @precisionfilms3777

    Dirt should not pass thru the exterior air filter period. Doesn't matter how dirty the inside of the filter housing gets. This fan thing is pointless. I changed my filter on my 259d full and I mean full of dirt but the 2nd filter was mint. The inside of the primary was mint too despite the outside being caked with dust. There is a real problem here and I'm glad I switched to Cat.

    • @rontopping2048
      @rontopping2048 Před 5 měsíci

      Dirt doesn't get past outside filter, that was improper service by operator. I own t66 and t76 never had dirt get past outside filter.

    • @precisionfilms3777
      @precisionfilms3777 Před 5 měsíci

      @rontopping2048 only possible explanation is the seal was broke on the primary outside filter

    I'd rather have a pre cleaner but there probably isn't any room.

  • @Yeti573
    @Yeti573 Před 7 měsíci +1

    Why Bobcat didn't use a cyclone style pre-cleaner is beyond me. Cyclone styler pre-cleaners are a proven, reliable and effective solution that is inexpensive. This "fix" from Bobcat is just silly. It's not a fix, its a $434.49 (As of 11/27/2023 on Bobcat's website) bandaid. Both Caterpillar and John Deere have the option or come with a cyclone style pre-cleaner for the engine intake air on all there CTL's and SSL's. Kubota's SVL 75-3 and SVL 97-2 have cyclone style pre-cleaners. I don't believe Kubota's SVL 65-2 and SSL's have or have an option for a cyclone style pre-cleaner (could be wrong), however they seem to listen to there customers and make good, worth while improvements. CNH has an option for a pre-cleaner on there current CTL's and SSL's. Bobcat, do better!!

    Step 1. Load your bobcat on the trailer.
    Step 2 . Drive to Takeuchi dealer and unload said bobcat.
    Step 3. Load Takeuchi track loader of your choose.
    Step 4. Return those parts to bobcat and run a way nicer machine.
