Stopping by to say I relate so so hard to the study exchange thing! I've been struggling with my budget recently (working less so I can finish my grad degree faster) and was thinking about how a few years ago I had depleted my savings I worked so hard for for my study abroad semester and if I had that money now it would've grown so much, and literally thought to myself "Nah I'd rather have had that experience than the money now". Some things are priceless and we are so lucky we get to experience them for sure!

just finishing up a UX bootcamp!! Totally agree with your advice! ( and the side hustles lol) But before tax, that first realistic one is still over 100k 😭. I know you don't love the topic, but would love to see how your taxes worked this year!! Such an important part of the equation/ budgeting.
so cool!! an important thing to consider n my case is that a big part of my monthly fixed expenses is my office which is a pure business expense which lowers my taxable income :)

Hi Zoe! I've been affected by a massive Tech layoff in June 2023, but I've been watching your videos wayyyy before then! While I was job searching and trying out Upwork for the first time, I saw a lot of scams online. Do you have any recommendations on red flags? I am thinking about going the Teacher route and going back to school for my masters. You truly inspired me though! I just want to gain a masters because I don't feel respected in the corp world with just my Bachelors. Your videos are motivational, thanks so much!
Hey! My bachelor's and I were laid off in January (real estate lay offs) and I've since done a bootcamp and am working on getting into product design! If I can get in and make some actual money (old salary was 40k in LA) a master's or at least some NNG training is a big consideration. Just wanted to say you're not alone and these jobs can't not-hire us forever 🥹

Takeout also gets me, but one thing to think about is that most of time, the time it takes for the food to deliver or when you go to pickup pre-made food you'd already be done cooking.

It's crazy how we get used to a certain amount but also how life has become SO expensive in the last few years
for me, at least you really don’t like ur job at all!!! you should stay and study and improve, cause sometimes we’re not good at stuff because we don’t do stuff long enough to be good at that, so, i don’t know, for me, i would try to be better and then ask for a raise.

Hey if you have lost friends because of your choice to improve yourself, it's a great thing. It means you are growing when the people you lost are not. Throughout life your group will change if you keep growing yourself, it would be scary if you had the same people from high school when you retired, it means you didn't progress at all and are the same person. I'm not saying you won't have a handful of people, just saying the bulk of the people change as you develop.
Good for you for doing what's necessary for you.

I reached both milestones 6 years before I thought I’d be there (I was probably thinking small, but also realistic) I have obviously worked hard for this, but I think there’s a lot of power in writing down our thoughts and intentions

However, would you ever consider incorporating some non-fast fashion brands into your videos? I want to continue supporting you but Garage as a company makes me uncomfortable because it’s contributing so much waste to the environment and has such poor working conditions for the people making the garments. I think a thrift store/second hand haul video would be really cool to see. Just wanted to throw it out there and see if you would be open to it! Love from the US!!!
i used to go thrifting alll the time, especially during covid so I have some old hauls of thrifted stuff 🩷 BUT it’s definitely a good idea to go again and I can include a haul in a vlog!
I did the activity and if my dream life is my own apartment in LA, updating my car, traveling more, saving more, and eating better - AND I'm taxed at 30%, then my dream salary is $127k per year 😅
