    I spent a good chunk of the summer doing for hire sound work in various outdoor applications. I had had enough of lugging around my old passive, wood enclosure 15s that weighed a ton. Enter the Eon 700 series! They are light, and get loud and sound pretty darn great thanks to the onboard DSP. There are some gripes, but it's mostly a positive experience so far. Thanks for checking out the video and I hope you find it useful if you're in the market for a new front of house system!

    Bluetooth issue fixed with updated firmware.
    Love my pair of 715s.
    Using it in my house seems overkill, so not planning to have the sub any time soon.
    Great review and awesome work on your narration recordings!

      Used them tonight for a show. The sub is too damn big lol. It sounds good though. It’s just a massive footprint.

    Guys, make sure to update firmware esp on the subs. The new update fixes the issue of the Limiter kicking on even at low volumes.

    Brilliant video. I bought the 718 and had clipping issues with it and it sounded crap, so I sent it back. I just got it back now and I’m heading home shortly. I’m at present using 515 XTs. Oh my they are ten years old but still sound boss. I want to upgrade to 715s. I will keep watching your channel about em. Great video bud.

      I know there was an issue with the 718 that it needed to have it’s firmware upgraded, when ya get home with it I’d check that it’s on the newest version. I haven’t had any issues with mine, at least as of now. I hope it works better for you now that you got it back! Thanks for the kind words :)

    Thanks for the vid.. I have a question about the power button. How has the soft momentary switch worked out as opposed to the latched switch. I wonder about. Being able to power them on remotely for more semi permanent installs where one would typically just switch the mains supply on and off.

      I haven’t had an issue thus far. It hasn’t seemed to bother me

    Nice review on the JBL Eons, I recently got 4 tops of the Eons 715,and two of the subs, I use a pioneer dj controller on them, and as soon as I push the volume on the gain to about 12db, the speakers starts to show some red light, any thoughts?

    • @ExpandingSound
      @ExpandingSound  Před rokem

      Without being in front of them my guess is the input gain is too high, forcing a clip

      Very simple just update the firmware from the speaker and that fix the cliping issue..😄😄

    Can you explain how you set up the different gains? I'm using it in band setting and am unclear between the channel gains and the master volume and the channel gain in the menu...

    • @ExpandingSound
      @ExpandingSound  Před rokem

      Sure channel gains are input volume, meaning the level the signal comes into the speaker, master volume is your output volume. Does that make sense?

    what is the correct set up on the channel #DB as using with my Rane 12s and Pioneer mixer and im getting distortion , mixer master was on 12......Any tips thanks

    • @ExpandingSound
      @ExpandingSound  Před rokem

      If you’re getting distortion, it has to be clipping somewhere in your chain. I’d make sure the tracks themselves aren’t clipping comin into your mixer, as well as your output isn’t too high

    Don't you have to pair Bluetooth streaming before you connect. Or do they just connect automatically without any pairing first

    • @ExpandingSound
      @ExpandingSound  Před rokem +1

      They don’t connect automatically but let’s say you do a show and don’t connect, someone in the audience would be able to see them show up on their phones and potentially pair with them, which is pretty crazy. I believe the recent update added some extra Bluetooth security, so I’ll have to look into that.

    What settings do you have your dsp gain at? Feel that’s been finicky with me on these speakers

      So this weekend I ran a show outside to about a 200, person crowd in a shopping center parking lot using the soundcraft Uir24 as my mixer into the 715s with a +8 db on the dsp gain, no issues for me, carried through the lot very well

    Is this good for a band to use as their PA for good sized bars/clubs/etc

      Get the Jbl pro connect app for the speakers, and connect to them, you can update through the app its not too bad

    For a 15 the bass sucks

    • @ExpandingSound
      @ExpandingSound  Před 4 měsíci

      I don’t really use it too much for bass, that’s what the sub is for. Not really sure how well it performs as an all in one speaker
