I bought this as a gift for my friend czcams.com/users/postUgkxcZqgZ8Ynkiz5n_LxIWRlAicuzmz5kCHG who is just starting out in the world of wood work. He loves it!! There is a great section on different wood and what to use for what kind of job and a similar section for tools as well. The projects in it are things you probably would have a go at with clear instructions, pictures, videos and diagrams throughout. Great for a beginner/amateur wood worker.

A stand of this quality and beauty would easily sell for close to $2000 at a reputable furniture store. Incredible, and the jazz really added to the video. Stunning work.

I applaud the work... and the video. It seems funny to me that TVs originally stood on the floor, large, ungainly, and were usually too warm to set much on. Then TVs were incorporated into consoles alone and with radios and phonographs... the 1st "multimedia" centers. All this was due to the size and weight of the TV. Screens shrunk and portables became common but nobody was thinking about hanging one on the wall. Floor models became insanely heavy, I owned a Sony PMV-4300 monitor, 43" CRT, that was over 400 pounds. It was a pig for even 4 guys to move around. Nowadays, if you have the money you can buy and hang a 292" flat panel on any wall large enough to fit... size and weight. So to watch someone use all this skill, all the effort for something to set a "TV" on seems funny to me. One thing we did learn pretty well in the 50s and 60s is to knock the sharp corners off of furniture at toddler height.

I hope the builder came to realize that soft closing drawers don't need constant steady pressure on them to close. They're kinda negating the technology in the video by pushing until the drawer is closed. Just push it most of the way, and the rail mechanism will take care of the rest. Additionally, a couple of clear rubberized bumpers on the inside of the drawer front will make sure that the drawers come to a close quietly as well.

FANTASTIC craftsmanship and filmmaking. 😍 If I made woodworking videos it would just be me standing around cussing at my mistakes, and re-shooting everything 5 times to get it right (which is hard when cutting workpieces).
I've always been intimidated by drawers but I think you've inspired me to give them a shot. Next time I'm at Rockler I'll have to actually pick up some hardware instead of just drooling over it...
