Minute 23, "You have to believe in yourself. You can't just accept what other people say all the time otherwise you become them, not yourself." A beautiful sentiment.
This is nuts. Imagine being 20 years old and having this sort of responsibility on your hands. She was prepared to take it all on somehow, and then to continue doing it for years to come. How amazing is that?
It's strange. Her music still sounds so fresh and amazing, it could have been made yesterday. But when you watch this doco, and see the ancient cars and fashions etc., you realise how long ago it really was.
Such a humble and sweet person. Six years later (1985) Kate released one of the best albums of all time, "Hounds of Love". A true Masterpiece of music. I love the first three tracks, the hits if you will. But tracks 4 to 12 still give me chills. Kate made an album that sounded unlike any music that had been made before. Not many artists can say that.
She came from a very musical and gifted family which really grounded her and she knew from a very young age what she was destined for. Also a very private person too which I think is why she didn't do tours very often. I loved Kate Bush from the moment I heard her playing on the radio in the kitchen as a child thinking wow who is this singer she's so different to everything I've heard before. She came from a loving and very supportive family which made her into that totally unique and strong minded and driven person she was. Such dynamic and thought provoking lyrics penned from a young teenager, she was born to be the performer she was. A one off without doubt, I haven't seen anybody like her since and doubt I ever will. She's settled now and living a quiet life with her family. She deserves it, she blessed us with such beautiful music over the decades since she came from nowhere in the late 70s and dazzled us with her theatrics and ethereal voice with Wutherung Heights. She's simply brilliant, no superlatives could do her justice.
Paddy has had a huge imput and impact on Kate's music over the years! Let's give one for Paddy, an unsung hero in the wonderful world of Kate Bush music! ( :
Not a pop star, but an artist through and through. Grounded, honest, modest and focussed on her work. Both of her brothers seem grounded, solid people too. The product of quality parents.
She was an absolute joy to work with in every aspect, and the band too. I did the on stage sound engineering and developed the headset mic for her. (1979)
Thank goodness for CZcams, this is a historic document to see Kate performing in concert. The whole family are well-rounded and intelligent people, and Kate herself is lev el headed and mature. A very rare glimpse into the legend.
After watching so many KB interviews, my takeaway is her honesty. She doesn’t take offense at any questions and just responds from the heart. Just lovely.
Just found this on youtube. I was at the Sunderland Empire Theatre in April 1979 as a 15 year old. I had never seen and have never seen to this day any performance as brilliant as Kate Bush.

How can any person not have a lifelong crush on Kate Bush?

I met Kate once in my village in Devon.....Amazingly polite and had time for me and my partner....Wonderful lady

Notice how respectful and polite people behaved back then compared to now.

What a great role model, mature, brilliant, gifted, humble, level-headed, vulnerable, a leader, executive, artist, choreographer, kind and brave.
Hard to believe this was 40 years ago.

She’s got the kind of eyes that seem to be gazing into some dimension or reality that others cannot see.
