I'm 73 years old and I think Matt Cardle is one of the best singers I have ever heard. and I'v heard a lot.
I can't disagree with you there....Appreciation of an exceptional talent is not age specific. That's what makes Matt so special, his amazing voice appeals to people of all ages :)
When I send tweets to Matt or his support groups they always come back undelivered with the reason that they are receiving too many. Do you believe that.

Wow, he can take any song put his own spin on it and you really believe its the first time you've ever heard it. THATS AMAZING The voice is so pure and his music ability is sublime. A true talent he'll will be around for a long time.

I wondered why Matt knew the song well enough to play it off the cuff, even after a few drinks. But it was written by Savan Kotecha, who Matt worked with on X Factor, so he may have known the song long before it was given to 1D. It may even have been considered for his first album. I know he has described it as the perfect pop song.

I hadn't even realised what a beautiful song this is, with the over production on 1D's version the meaning in the lyrics is completely lost. Matt puts the emotion back into this song, his amazing vocals shine through and with the simplicity of his acoustic guitar the result is stunning. I agree piebaldlady1 Matt is most definitely a diamond, long may he continue to amaze us.

i don't know why people compare Matt to 1D. True I prefer Matt Cardle but they are completely different artists. When 1D sings the song it makes me wanna dance yet make me feel special BUT Matt puts more meaning in the lyrics that makes me melt. Just enjoy the music people. Don't argue. :)

if you know he story, he sang this at a party, after it was requested. He had had a few glasses of wine. Someone recorded it and put it on CZcams. To criticise it, is like criticising somone you've overheard singing in the shower.

what, at first I thought this is a recording, and it's fabulous. But then in the end, the clapping comes up and wows me :))
I have heard the song, of course, many times but never really listened to the words because it is so overproduced with the loud pop "na-na-na-na's" and big sound. Matt has that ability to make you listen to the words of a song....beautiful! Now we know how that song should sound!!

Which "lower one"? Matt might have more "voices" than you are aware of ;-)
How many of Matt's songs do you know?
He actually has about 70. How "normal" you think each of them is, is entirely up to you.
Maybe try "Hit my heart", "Not over you", "Mouth to Mouth" from his latest album "Porcelain". Or "Anyone else", "For every heartbreak" from the album "The Fire". Or "Slowly", "Walking on Water" from the album "Letters".
You might also want to try all of his songs with his band "Seven Summers".
And also from his band "Darwyn" from the time before Matt realized that raising his pitch puts less strain on his voice. Very unusual.

it really doesnt matter who wins x-factor, 1d are huge..they are a lot of fun.. matt is a more emotionaly inspired peformer he puts a lot more emotion and sentiment into his songs.. its all about the music :)
