There was this Java app back in 2008, called Fanta Stealth Sound System, which used high frequency sounds for kids to communicate without adults hearing them, as after turning 20, most of the people stop hearing higher frequencies. Interesting concept!

I did this with my dog next to me and I saw her react every time it switched, even after I couldn’t hear anymore. I know dogs can hear way better that humans but it’s still kinda trippy

Me too. I can heard them all. It's funny I have HORRIBLE eye sight for someone in their 30s, but the worse my eyes get, the better my hearing gets. I have always been very sensitive to noise. But yeah I can hear a car from a couple blocks away coming up hill by my house before it gets there- I can hear the engine. I'm also a singer, so Idk if that has improved my hearing. It's a bit freaky and annoying being able to hear everything so much louder than everyone!

To everyone out there saying what your max is, it's wrong if it isn't at or slightly under 20,000. That's is the standard range of hearing for humans, the reason you cant hear the higher tones is that the device, or speakers that are playing the sound are not physically capable of emitting above a certain point, so it ends up sounding like silence

@@apache6460 Yes but you can see why it would be misleading to say the reason you can't hear is because of the device or speakers. It could be that or age. Not everyone can hear up to 20K, which is what @Eaglespire15 said. They did not allow for the possibility of age and blamed everything on equipment.
