Flooding in Bacup

Having been told that the flood warning sirens in Wallsden were sounding at 07:30 this morning and that the area was flooding along with Todmorden I went for a quick look to see how Bacup Centre was faring. The water was starting to flood through the main streets and already several shops were at risk of flooding.
The River Irwell is almost at breaking point and runs straight under the centre of Bacup. In some places the excess of rain water was already coming buck up through the drains and into the roads and car parks.
When watching this short video please spare a thought for those unfortunate people further north from us that have been flooded out three times in the last month or so.

Sorry about the flooding Frenchie, we heard about it in our news in New Zealand too.
