I have found there is a time and place for both to run the throttles or joystick. Mind you my joystick usage is just on my 35 Invincible cat with quad 300 mercury's. I have the Mercury system and it seems to work fine, however when I want to leave the dock I seem to prefer the throttles and coming back to the dock I seem to use the joystick.
