This is what I like about these guys, they make excellent music and in the end they play it how they want to play it. But everyone seems to want to hear an exact studio copy haha give them a break! Enjoy their musical expression!
It's easy to think AnCo's music is "out of tune" or "off time" but really...it's just so utterly obtuse that it's hard to see the structure sometimes. They'll have 7/4 rhythms with 2/3 melodies over top....which on first listen sound pretty strange. But if you can latch on to the structure, you'll see how very cool their arrangements are. That being said, while AnCo are, imo, the best band of the past decade, their live performances are quite an acquired taste...and sometimes flat out bad lol.
@rimandojr214 Everything on the album was tuned to Avey Tare's guitar, which was out of tune in the first place. That obviously has nothing to do with this particular performance but I thought it'd be interesting and it seemed relevant. lol
You can say I didn't like it but dont say stuff that are just not true as if it was fact. Hes playing the song as it is. Those are the chords and thats what he sings in the regular song.
