  • FRONT RV CAMPING AT HARRIS BEACH STATE PARK, OREGON
Hello everyone and welcome back to another JK Adventure. This time we are spending the week at Harris Beach State Park which is located on the Southern Oregon Coast. Kim and I have been trying for a few years to get a spot at this beautiful RV campground and it finally happen. Front row with ocean view no less. Come along as you show you around this awesome campground and area.
Located on Oregon's rugged south coast, Harris Beach offers a splendid seascape for sightseers, several trails, and miles of sandy beaches and rocky outcroppings to explore. From the day-use area, enjoy beachside picnicking with a picturesque view of the sea stacks dotting the ocean, including the largest island off the Oregon coast.
Bird Island (also called Goat Island) is a National Wildlife Sanctuary and breeding site for such rare birds as the tufted puffin. The island makes for amazing wildlife viewing from the park's many viewpoints. Watch gray whales on their winter and spring migrations, harbor seals, California sea lions, sea birds and the rich marine gardens.
    Year-round Camping
Some camp loops close for the winter. Camping in C loop is first-come, first-served only Nov. 1- May 24. Reservable sites can be booked up to 6 months in advance at oregonstateparks.reserveamerica.com. Some services are reduced due to Covid-19; they are noted below in bold:
    65 full-hookup sites
    25 electrical sites with water
59 tent sites with water nearby
6 yurts (3 pet-friendly; one accessible) RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
    Group camp CLOSED
    Hiker/biker camp CLOSED
    Playground
    Flush toilets
Hot showers OPEN LIMITED HOURS; CAMPING GUESTS ONLY
Firewood for sale, subject to availability
    RV dump station
Universal access: One campsite has accessible design.
    Nearby Attractions
Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor: This 12-mile-long park along Highway 101 is a series of scenic waysides, some with picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy unparalleled ocean views. Or you can explore the park by foot via a series of hikes that make up a portion of the Oregon Coast Trail. The south end of the park is only three miles north of Harris Beach.
McVay Rock and Winchuck State Recreation Sites offer access to beaches south of Brookings. At the border, Crissey Field has wetlands, a trail to the beach and a welcome center with more information on things to see and do.
Visit Brookings: Known for its azalea festival and bike-friendly streets, Brookings also has a boat launching ramp, moorage facilities, boat rentals, and charter boat service at the south jetty, near the mouth of the Chetco River.
Visit Gold Beach: 30 miles north of Brookings, the town is a gateway to the famous Rogue River.

How are the new chairs? They looked comfortable and well made. I've been looking but can't find ones I like. Our current ones we love, but are being held together with zip ties! They are so old! LOL!

@@shannonl3443 that is hilarious only because we have been there ourselves. We love them. Very comfortable camp type chairs. We have had a few sets and so far these are our favorites. You can find them at camping world so you can try them out in store.

This was a fantastic state park and was super quiet. We were often the only ones up at night in our area with a campfire going.
If you are looking to stay here, try to book that front row so you can have amazing views all day long. It was totally worth the inconvenience of moving midweek! 😊
