Supplement to Dice's lyrics. In the dark, the girl is blindfolded and holding a doll. She is afraid of the outside world and she is in her own world. Yet the dice of her life are rolled. I can't promise that it will be fine outside, but we will live with the worries and regrets with important something. They sing that even tears will turn into a rainbow someday, don't worry and go outside. The girl finally takes off her blindfold and walks out into the light.
Band Maid is my favorite modern rock group. They play all over the world and there music has been featured on the soundtracks of movies and tv shows.
All over the world except Australia and Africa, and perhaps South America.
They have recently dropped a live vid of Puzzle….that is another treat. From Now On, instrumental MV shouldn’t be missed either. So much in their catalogue to choose from.
When you do Real Existence, make sure is the oficial live

Here's my take on DICE's lyrics, Jen: I know the "dice" have already been thrown (as in her lyrics), but I choose to look at it as stop being indecisive, sitting in a dark room playing with dolls (TV, phone, toys, games, etc.). "Seize the moment", roll the dice, open your eyes, and walk into the light! Miku's lyrics, especially after translation, can be a bit cryptic - open for interpretation, as are all poems and lyrics. But their music is always right on point which melds the two into wonderful songs of possibilities!

Makes way more Sense than my idea that Miku lost all her money at poker & on the horses so tried to recoup some of her losses from the Maids with loaded Dice.😏

Dice was my introduction to Band-Maid two years ago =) Now i have all their albums and most of their CD's ! They are such a good band and returning to the US in May ! Thanks Jennifer btw when you play "Real Exisrence" do the official live verson =)

The lyrics written by rhythm guitarist Miku are poetic, and in Japanese there are many words made up of combinations of kanji, and when translated into English, they tend to be long.

The Maids are Awesome ! I saw them last Oct. In Seattle & I'm going to see them again in Spokane on August 12th. Trust me when I say....if you've seen one Band-Maid concert, you'll want to see another !! 😏❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘

My first Band-Maid song and still one of my top 5 songs! One of THE best openings for a song.
Having lived places where I don't speak the language I tend to listen to music first without a translation, treating voices as part of the overall music experience. I can always look up lyrics or watch a music video with lyrics later.
Also when we hear new music in our own language we rarely really listen to the lyrics the first time anyway.

One thing I'd say, is there are many Japanese bands jumped over the barrier of gender and generation musically, which also applies to Band-Maid.
After being together for 10 years, they've all come so far technically and musically.
They are just great musicians and an amazing band full stop. Of course with such a diverse catalogue of songs!

The Bluray to buy is the new one from Tokyo Garden; superbly produced, engineered, etc. Sound is perfect mix is perfect. The crowd had some issues with havign to wear freakin masks so they were wat subdued compared to other venues, but thats the sole knock.

Your reaction was similar to mine over 2 years ago when I first watched "Thrill"--10 seconds in listening to Akane on drums and MISA MISA on bass I said wow, these ladies are incredible! They are a powerful, precise rhythm section aren't they? "Dice" is a good one for your maiden (forgive the pun) voyage. Kanami Tono is a spectacular lead guitarist, you got a taste of her intense, passionate playing. She writes most of the music and Miku writes the lyrics. She is also a great rhythm guitarist and Saiki on the wonderful vocals and there you have Band-Maid! They have many more brilliant songs, I suggest "Daydreaming" a tour de force ballad as well as "Choose Me", "Blooming" "Moratorium", "onset" and "Cross". As Futoura mentioned there are over 100 more songs and I recommend them all! Enjoy!

Do your self a huge favour, and watch the live version of Real Existence when the time comes, you won't regret it.
They are not “metal,” rather they are “rock.” They are the best band on earth today to deliver the most musically sophisticated art work. They does music from simple easy ballad to intricate PROG stuff. I hope you enjoy their music.
I'd argue that they do introduce a lot of Metal elements in their songs, but it's infused flawlessly and give their songs a wide appeal. Also Metal is a Sub-Genre of Rock by definition. All Metal is Rock, but not all Rock is Metal....
@@roygillotti4615 I agree. Dice in particular is actually Pop-Punk for the most part with rock and some metal as well. They combine what they like!

I'll really never know why so many want to claim Band-Maid is metal, especially given the band don't categorise themselves as metal. It gets tiresome. Then again, I'm not at all sure why there is insistence on categorising bands into genres at all, especially Band-Maid who clearly do pop, rock, hard rock, punk, post punk, metal, and whatever else you want to call it. If I had to classify them to a specific genre then that genre would very definitely be "Band-Maid"
Well I'd argue that at times they play music that more resembles traditional Heavy Metal than it does Hard Rock, especially a lot of their more recent work. Metal has some weird defining points, especially at the roots Metal came bands like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest which many people today don't think is Metal anymore, even though they defined it originally. Many today think Metal is just screaming and blast beats, thanks to the recent popularity of extreme versions of Metal. But hey Heavy Metal is by definition a Sub-Genre of Rock, so even if it was Metal, they still would be a Rock Band.
That said, yes I do agree with the Band-Maid Genre, they make their own path and I'm happy with it.

They have released a Live video of "Dice", as with most Japanese bands the Live is usually better.
They have total control of their music, from creation to the order songs on their albums. 2023 is their 10th year as Band Maid.
Last one, they refer to their maid costumes as their Battle Armor.
