Just a quick video showing the Tyr boss fight from the newly released God of War Ragnarok Valhalla DLC on Show me Mastery difficulty, with the Penalty of Breaching active, while he has arguably his hardest moveset combined with the darkness debuff, and taking no direct damage. Details below.
This game is so much fun, and the DLC is incredible.
Outside of that, I wasn't really sure how to label this, but I think "Ultimate Tyr" is quite fitting, without being overly clickbaity. This is the hardest combination of his movesets you could have when combined with the darkness and light circles, as the wave attacks he can do is a nightmare if you can't see them. The add phase in the middle isn't too difficult, but regardless of what you get for that, it's easy enough to handle. On top of that, this is for the Penalty of Breaching clear, along with it being done on Show Me Mastery difficulty. So outside of intentionally getting no upgrades at all, or having extra burdens applied from during the run and not completing those, it's about the maximum for the Tyr boss fight alone.
If you're wondering why I didn't weapon swap, runic cancel and all that, it's mainly because the way the DLC is designed, it's not hugely worth it. Certain attacks and weapons get significant buffs, and one of the strongest ones is the extra explosions on the blade R2 attacks. So mostly using that is a great approach here, and using only one or two attacks gives you enough time to cancel and parry, instead of being stuck in an attack animation and taking damage. Not the most flashy, but it's effective and gets the job done.
I'm not too sure what else there is to post for GOW from now, but I've had an absolute blast playing it. A big surprise that the DLC was so content rich, especially with it being free.
Lastly, obviously the "no damage" isn't counting the constant debuff from penalty of breaching, as that's an unavoidable part of the burden. It's just in regards to any hits taken from Tyr.

I think the relic refresh perks are almost a must to make runs more manageable, especially the endgame ones. Infinite realm shift was a ton of fun though! This DLC showed me how good the blades are all around in Ragnarok, they're good even without perks lol
They made the blades so good that you almost forget about the other weapons
@@babyDebo500 Yeah, for sure. Without the overshield mechanics on enemies, im sure you could use a single weapon the whole way through. However, I found more success when I used blades+ either spear or axe together, but it always goes back to the blades lol.
Huh, the blades are the weapon i used the least, maybe there was a perk i was missing? Felt they almost always did no stagger at all in show me mastery

@@degg7129 Oh I only use like 2 attacks on the blades in total, maybe a few of the dash attacks or the grab move to insta-kill some mobs. Otherwise, it's the triangle moves all day lol

It’s actually easier than you think. If you get far enough you can be very OP for the last fight.
It was more than likely greed, risking a fight with one of the barbarian wraiths and not pacing themselves.

Nice video .. I can only get half his health down and the centaur is almost as hard as Tyr . I don’t use the shield as for me he goes right through it with the spin attack .. I’m curious what shield your using to actually have it block his attacks.. also is Tyr harder if you enter the fight on the level 6 trial tier ?
It'd be more interesting even to know how u survived all the rift encounters before reaching Tyr. Sometimes Valhalla chosen slain can be a nightmare much more than boss fights.

As someone who has not beat this game yet, seeing Tyr so violent and bloodthirsty makes me excited for his character development. I can't wait to see how he goes from the guy who was in prison and rejected violence to this insane warrior.
