What an amazing arrangement. Very rarely will you hear a horn arrangement that comes in right in the middle of a lead guitar "solo". Marcus writes his songs so that everyone in the band has a chance to shine, and his arrangements are superb. Rock solid drumming from Jack Ryan and Campbell plays some mean bass-lines. MK-ULTRA is my new HERO!

Holy cow, I'm outta cuss words to reflect my amazement. These guys are [endless superlatives go here.] I tried to be like these guys for 30 years. Never got close, although I had the same equipment as M.K., so there's that. Now I stare in amazement.

Super refreshing to see a guitarist with only a tube screamer sitting on his amp & using his hands for dynamics & tone instead of stomping around on a pedal board & producing processed rubbish. Excellent band, too. Bright future.
That's an interesting & refined tweak, JL. I'm old school & marvel at this young man...there's a purity you don't often see anymore. That's why I cannot listen to a lot of stuff today...so many guitar players just out of the grade school for guitar who should be wood shedding but instead they process their sound to hide their lack of technique. I mean, I'm cool with it, live & let live. I just don't listen. I'm also digging the way Marcus is synthesizing a stronger jazz angle into the other influences he has. Given time, he will break new ground which is hard to do. I'm pretty sure. Peace.

Well aware of that, JL. I mainly use a '68 reissue gold top w/ soap bars that has superb tone in all p/up positions. Why dress that up?
I didn't mean to offend. I have nothing against pedals especially the way Marcus uses his. I use an OD-1 for the same purpose you're talking about - I don't like adding dirt. It matches the guitar well. I was enjoying the conversation with you because I could tell you had experience. it's really not about us anyway. We both admire Marcus.
