Good job Mozart got as far as this with the Great Mass or we wouldn’t have this beautiful exuberant music. Just love Anne Sofie Von Otter’s performance.
Her vowel consistency has long been her signature. From top to bottom, there is never a break in the melismas and the pure "ah." She is one of those "singers' singers." Similar to Goerne or Barbara Bonney. She never relied on flash.
This is such a cool piece for a soprano it is fun to sing down under and for a mezzo it is so cool to be able to sing those high notes. I love it! She has such a wonderful range!
It only goes up to A5 a couple of times. This piece is well within the mezzo voice. If the piece was written for soprano II, that is likely the equivalent of a mezzo in a choral context. The piece ranges from sustained A3s to two brief A5s. Many true soprani would have difficult performing those A3s.
I have always thought that Anne Sofie von Otter was not a mezzo but a soprano voice; and to be more precise, a second soprano (or, in the french baroque terminology, a "bas-dessus"). In the partition, this aria is destined to a "Sopran II" and it suits very well to Mrs. Otter but it is obvious that her high register sounds easier than the low register. The choice she made to sing the mezzo repertoire allowed her to save her voice for a long career.
@@draganvidic2039 I meant that her tonality is versatile , mezzo soprano, being in between soprano & alto, the latter is the lowest register, while the former is highest. I hope i don't sound patronizing. Thanks for asking.
That is just so very beautiful.....she is so natural in her singing....
Anne Sophie Von Otter makes me proud to exist in this world.
Definitely one of my favorites.
Her voice is so rich, colorful and beautiful! Just WoW... ❤️

Nous Te louons, Seigneur, d’avoir béni Anna Maria Pertl et toute sa descendance.
Wonderful! Love her joyous interpretation as well. 😀
The unusual voice of Mezzo, I like her .
Hola! Hermosa interpretación...! Me recuerda la de Victoria de los Ángeles...
I am so happy to see her come back on 27 August in “Autumn Sonata” during the Baltic Sea Festival at Stockholm Berwaldhallen.

¡Brillante!
Esta aria es terriblemente difícil.
Y aquí se muestra cómo debe cantarse.
Brillo total.
Crystal clear.
sublime
wow!
Gorgeous
Superlativa...
She registers as soprano, mezzo soprano and alto, how do you like that?
Jorge Schneider
What do you mean?
She is a lyric mezzo.

Jorge Schneider That’s correct
Dea!!!!
Sous la direction de Zubin Mehta .
Can't and dare not imagine how Cecilia Bartoli will look like when singing this piece. LOLS.
OMG - gargling singing does not suit this music
I think she is a undeveloped dramatic soprano rather than a mezzo. 😮
How can you not love this woman? Speaking as a man of course!
첫소절의 당당 함!!! 너무 멋지지 않는가
