Like always my friends, thanks for watching! I’ll be in the lookout for all of your videos! Cheers
This shave was inspired by one of my favorite videos done by Keith V. Johnson.
I get nervous watching this! Great skill to pull that off. Hats off :)
Thank you my friend, I don’t think I’ll be doing it again though. Even tho the bevel was set extremely well there is just going to seem to be some irritation you won’t when you use a higher synth
Shave was over before my food was warmed up in the microwave. Ok, I’ll watch again. Nice shave. Beautiful BL Dovo.
The BL Dovo is a beautiful piece! It has a sentimental value because my betrothed gave it to me for my birthday, similar to that Wade you shaved in your latest video my friend! Cheers and God bless.
@@seanstapelfeld Stop the presses… so your girlfriend has now become your fiancée? New information about you! Are congratulations in order? 💍
@@longhaultanker thank you my friend! 8 years together now, about time I fixed my knee hehe
@@seanstapelfeld Wonderful.
If you want to explore stropping convex, get 2 pieces of balsa (not too thin) and the Herold paste 2 pack. Shape in the long dimension refined to 400 grit. Clean with a tack cloth or do a few tape pulls with carton tape to clear micro dust. Give each a light to moderate spotted application and spread out some with your finger. Give the shave piece 30 or so rounds on each, carefully wiping in between. Go to a taut leather with light pressure.
It might just bump things up a bit.
Nice shave. Admirable skill level.
Thank you so much Bill for the constant tips and guiding me throughout the process. I do have more questions I wanted to pass by you in the future. Cheers my friend I will be waiting for your next upload.
What a beautiful spine on that razor Sean , you appear to have a wonderful concave bevel .....but to do a full short and long axis full jarrod method I found wearisome , and the thought of convexing several stones put a damper on my initial enthusiasm...well done indeed , its the more scientific method of honing...😊.
Imagine having to shape a hard stone like an Arkansas! It was the shapton 1.5 and it took me around 1 hour and a half of manual labor haha. Thanks for watching Martin… the 1.5k edge here shaved really well 😆
@@seanstapelfeld Amazing 👏 to get a good shave from a 1.5k stone , proving there's substance in concave shaves !
@@Martins-Shaves123 I will still hone some razors flat but it’s fun to try different things in this hobby… never a dull moment no pun intended haha
Good practice. I have always tried to be diligent of shaving on 1k, 3k, 5k and 8k every 2-3 months, just to remind me what they feel like. But that convex bevel is a cheat code, almost too easy.
It really is haha, have you tried shaving from the 1.5k after con caving your shapton? Makes me wonder if I need any other stone haha and surprisingly just normal after shave sting
@@seanstapelfeld I have not, but it’s on the list.
