    I would recommend bevel set on a 1K, this is the most important stone if you have do a bevel set. With a poor bevel set - everything else is pretty useless. Most of us don’t need to set a bevel - it’s really a one time process with a properly maintained razor. After that - doing a one stone hone on the coticle will likely yield good results. I prefer the Jnat edge myself - as I see you’ve done a few videos with Jnats. Great work - I enjoy the videos!

      @@adamalbina Thank you my friend! I’m 100% with you, the bevel is everything! I also think that the bevel is a one time thing and after that it’s a lot easier to maintain a keen edge. I hope you have a good weekend!

    Great job Sean. I've always followed my coticule with an Arkansas or ILR finisher. Maybe I should try experimenting with a coticule as my finisher. I know I don't enjoy a 12K syn finish as much as a natural. It's early days for me and maybe I'm trying too many different things, but I'm enjoying the jouney. Keep the great shave vids coming!

      Hey Matthew! Since coticules are naturals each individual stone can be different... All the new coticules come from ardennes since they have the rights to the mines. You know my opinion on soaps and brushes isn't exactly illuminating 😅. May I say the replacement scales are stunning on your gold dollor. I agree 8or 10 k to coti is best , but its possible to one stone bevel set and hone on a coti . Your way is better medium to fine grit then coti . Harsh menthol 😂.

    • @seanstapelfeld
      @seanstapelfeld  Před měsícem +1

      I always enjoy your opinion on soaps and I agree with you that badger brushes smell like dead dog 🤣 Thank you, had to replace the scales on my first razor because it has sentimental value. The razor in this video was honed only on a coticule, I used to hone up to 8k or 10k and then coti but now under Erics guidance i've been one stone honing and getting really good results for the most part hehe. I remember you were the first person that pushed me into using a coticule Martin, I am always grateful for that my friend!
