- For some unusual reason, the Guildmaster's chanting during the 'Return To Hook Coast' quest, despite being undecipherable, was translated in several of the localisations of the game. This video highlights this oddity and some details behind it.

Also, TBF German and English are pretty similar as languages in general. They probably thought a pitch change was good enough.
No, over half of English is from French and Latin, only like 23% of English is Germanic now. Prior to the Norman Conquest in 1066 English was far more German and totally unintelligable to modern English speakers.
