You don't need to be a social person in sales. To all the introverts, you need to be good at active listening and provide value.

Sales is the most unsecured and hardest career for the following reasons.
1- Sales is a number game, if you don't achieve your monthly sales Quotas or simply Targets you will be out in 2-3 months time, job hunting
2- How hard you work, efforts you make, how friendly or honest to your prospective clients are no use and in vain if you don't archive your sales targets.
3- Your Manager is your best buddy as long as you archive or exceed the monthly sales targets, if you under perform or don't archive sales targets, you will be treated like dirt by your manager.
4- Your Qualifications or Degree certificates are just a piece of paper in a sales careers, cos if you want to progress in your company (promotion) or secure your job, Sales performance is the main factor for consideration.

      - You can’t succeed without working hard, but just because you work hard doesn’t mean you will succeed.
      - when you land a sales job, 70% of the time the person before you left the job (for one reason or another) because it was not a sustainable role.

Performance is what keeps you at any job, so this isn't new. Most people just can't keep up. Not everyone is cut out for sales just as not everyone is cut out for medical school

I've been in sales for over 40 years. I've found people turned off by a sales career miss a key element: Sales is simply helping others get what they want. They mistakenly think sales is about dishonestly coaxing or tricking people into buying something they don't necessarily need or want. Thankfully, the salesperson who subscribes to the latter will have a short-lived career.

I love the video! The only topic I feel was not touched on, is lack of control. There are so many factors that can affect your results, ie. errors in accounting, order entry, delivery drivers, production delays, and corporate policies etc. When I went to outside sales, I found this very frustrating. Because no matter what happens, you are the one that deals with the phone call.

I really wish there was more content like this out there before I consider pursuing this career. I’m a high school student and I think I’m a pretty good socializer, but I know nothing about sales. What business even do sales and how do I get there? What are businesses that I should look out for or stay away from? Is working as a salesman for technology better than real estate? There’s soooo many questions and I don’t know where to turn to as a trusted source.

Hey Spencer, love the video. I did direct sales for couple months., was rough at first being naturally introverted but after a few weeks. I started making good amount of sales and money. I wanted to ask, how would you go about not letting your ego get to your head. I dont know if you experienced this but, when I was making good money I spent it good too. Do you just remind yourself that "hey this could be just a good week and not to increase your lifestyle or do you look at your success as motivation to keep going.

I have struggled to accept the fact that sales is my trade, it's what I'm talented at naturally and for a lot of years i wanted out. Then one of my good friends busted her as to get her MBA and she was so excited and rightfully so. I don't know why but I thought her degree ment she was going to make I don't know double the money I made then she told me she makes 95k a year I was shocked, not saying that's not good money but i graduate high school and I make way more money then her with no student debt. It was in that moment after how many years I accepted exactly what I am and that is a damn salesman. I have completely been re-energized about what I do for a living.

I have been in outside sales since 1998 (53). I am burned out, don't like the sales goals any longer, the crm and the stress that comes with the position. I have been doing this for 28 years. Have I made a good living or made good money? Yet. Has it been stressful? Yes. I am done doing this and ready for a change. Glad the wife and I paid off the mortgage, have no auto loans and no credit card debt. Change is coming.
